@@TranscontinentalRailfan Well-known mostly because of Lionel and their line of State of Maine boxcars. I never even knew the road name of those cars until recently, because the most prominent lettering only says "State of Maine" and I know there isn't a State of Maine Railroad. But now I know that those cars were owned by the Bangor and Aroostook
And good to see her being an ambassador for her owner. ...and also for her "species", the Climax. Though I must say that engine looks more like a steam tram than a Climax. The youngsters would probably be more inclined to compare it to Toby than to Ferdinand at any rate, lol!
@@richhood9934 There should be more Williamettes restored to operation because they are said to be more reliable than Shay locomotives due to their value gear
I agree with you about the Manassas Gap Railroad. That would be a nice place to run 1361 and 614, when, or in 614's case, if, they are restored to operation
@@DillianTrainzStudios Seriously. I'm planning on going to the southwest next year and hoping to time a visit to the Grand Canyon Railway for the first Saturday of October with 4960, but if one or both of those engines (3751/2926) put in an appearance there or on Raton Pass at some other time, I'd change things in a heartbeat to see that. I wonder if one or both of those engines could do a residency at the GCRY, the way 611 has done at Strasburg or more recently on the Virginia Scenic Railroad.
Awesome video. Every time I see those State of Maine boxcars, I always think of Lionel and watching I Love Toy Trains. But I'm glad that that boxcar is being restored.
Yeah if you can have a recreational trail then you can have a railroad What costs more; a 6 lane freeway with extra space and maintenance for 500 miles or quadruple track mainline railroads
Can't wait to see them return to operation.
0:07 imo, the greatest boxcar paintscheme of all time
@@yeoldeseawitch Definitely one of the most well known schemes that for sure.

I like the news about the climax engine. 🚂
Me too! Not a lot of them are preserved, but seeing few of them either returned or will return to operation makes them more valuable!

There was also just a hint at 614 being restored!
@@RailfanIan1225 I saw something about it on Facebook about a month ago, when 614 recently had its front pilot and cylinders painted black.

it was a rumor that it was also gonna be part of the 2026 freedom train
Keeping up with updates on C&O 614. Checked their official page and theyre at 96% before revealing whats happening with the engine
Still at 96%. Wonder why the delay
@richhood9934 They never really gave an official announcement date, so it’s basically whenever they think is best.
Yessir. That's a ton of railfan updates and announcements. Hope the Manassas Gap Railroad is completely saved
@@OfficialSEIC2K6 Same here! There is so much potential in it!
@atsf855sanbernardinocounty85 The Railroading Heritage of Midwest should now focus more on UP 3985 and 5511, before getting something new.

I wonder if this is where 2926’s road to excursions really starts to shift into high gear
Any support really helps the group prepare for mainline excursions. I have made a few donations towards fully equipping their tool car.
I certainly hope so. I might be going to the Southwest next year, and I'd love to see the 2926 running.
Istg, if 2926 and 3751 do a doubleheader next year at some point, I’m gonna flip the fuck out.
