+Brad “B-Rad” Joyner I was kidding around, love the review love the album. Pretty sure Simon is just quoting Ride as well and you guys just aren't in on the joke, go listen to this shit it is fire.
Guys, I didn't "forget" to mention any tracks. I can't go track-by-track of the whole album. I mentioned the ones that stood out to me the most. But I'm glad y'all are digging it so much!
This is completely off topic, but could you review one of Viper's albums? I feel like you're the only one who could do justice to "You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack".
That's slated for a 2021 release. They're working on their next album right now which apparently features Buena Vista Social Club as their backing band.
Pee Pee Boyz The synth riff during the chorus is extremely cathartic and is the perfect track to have right before the brutal, disgusting, putrid, and violent final track.
No mention of Bubbles Buried in this Jungle and Three Bedrooms in a Good Neighborhood? Two of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Anyway great review Myke I loved this album.
JandJandJandJandJ Yeah man I loved 8080808 too, such a catchy song. I love how its about people ripping off Death Grips sound too, the title is a reference to Kanye West's 808's and heartbreak from my knowledge. Remember Yeezus the god awful Death Grips wanna Kanye album?
+Rhys Lloyd Honestly, I never listened to Kanye besides The College Dropout, which I thought was kinda shit besides all the Curtis Mayfield sampling. God, I love the Superfly soundtrack. Aside, it was "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Valentine" or something that was chastised for copying DG, right? I may look at it.
JandJandJandJandJ It was Yeeus that sounded like a wannabe death grips album, it was shit. And this is coming from someone who enjoys most of Kanyes album especially his older material.
at the moment, three bedrooms and bubbles are my favourite tracks. kinda surprised you didn't mention them specifically, though it's probably because they're somewhat similar to BB Poison.
Are you going to do a review of Death Grips' latest release "Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)"? Myself & many others consider it to be some of their best work yet, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Pixelphiliac ok can I just say fuck man. I like to think of death grips projects in terms of weapons of a sort and I think Steroids would be figuratively a big ornate spiky battering ram. Especially the last 4 minutes blow my mind
I love Death Grips. When Money Store came out I was like woah! What is this shit! Not a hip hop expert by any means. but I fucking love that band. And it made me to go back on my old albums by Run DMC, Public Enemy, Nas etc. Def a breath of fresh air to that style though I'm not that deep in that. My roots are in punk rock and bit of metal too. It's always good to go out of your comfort zone and explore different kinds of music. Otherwise I would have missed great sounds of Miles Davis, Mulatu Astatke... Best music ever for me is 80's American hardcore punk. So much good stuff. Shitty too. Thank god Career Suicide is releasing new album in February I think and that sounds like music of that era without copying. Few other bands are Government Warning, Ceremony's Rohnert Park album. After that they sounded like a Joy Division to me. Annihilation Time, Obliterations and few others. Point of my rant? Nothing really but the love of music. Peace!
Damn, you captured my thoughts exactly at 9:18 particularly with that desensitised comment. I find it's easy to underrate DG cause their standard is generally high and their sound is familiar at this point, especially when I was expecting them to go even more noisier after their last few albums and after hearing Hot Head. It took a number of listens for me to fully appreciate the album, I was thrown off guard a bit by how catchy it all was.
I wonder if people think about why, "The Money Store" title is called that. In my theory, I think "The Money Store" is personally describing MC Ride or the character he is portraying. Meaning that he exchanges so much money for drugs, alcohol, weapons, etc... so he has become notorious for being a "money store" in exchange for those items, causing a downward spiral.
"What the fuck is pussy church and how do I go?" Made me lol. Loved the return to more of a hip hop sound. My favorite DG album since No Love Deep Web.
totally agree with not being very surprised with this, I was hoping for something really different especially with the strange karen black video they attached to it. I think a more meditative disorienting subdued and depressing album with lengthier songs almost like an expanded on GP in a way would be an awesome change of pace
I'm watching this vid for the second time now and my brain just registered that you said that you misheard Houdini's lyrics the same way I (and as I see, a few other people in this comment section) did. This is one of those misheard lyrics that even if I know are incorrect, I still hear the song the same way. Like when I heard "lantern, melon" in Stinkfist by Tool. I was like "okay, there's no way Maynard said that", checked it, yep, it's "blend and balance" aaaand I still hear it as "lantern, melon", there's no way I can fix that haha.
you are one of the best reviewers out there man...full of passion and opinion...your top 10 albums opened me up to some really great stuff...so thanks :)
Hmm could Spikes be a continuation of Get Got, considering it is one of the tracks you said sounds like The Money Store? Get Got had a lot of references to driving a vehicle in the first verse.
Hey I had a convo with a person in class that gambino even though he doesn't rap anymore was the best mainstream rapper while he was in the game based on beats content wordplay and just how good he sounds wanna know your thoughts love that dehh shit and just started on your shit keep it going
Death Grips best projects to me will always be Exmilitary and The money store. U said it perfectly when u were talkin about how they still put out quality but nuthin they do is really shocking or amazing anymore. When Exmilitary came out, I was fascinated by how weird and jarring the shit was. It really wasnt my style but it grew on me and after reading the dudes lyrics, i got hip to it a lot more. The Money Store had different elements and they still managed to make sumthin just as jarring as Exmilitary in my opinion. The last few Death Grips projects have been a bit samey to me. It's almost like Nas in a way. Nas may do sumthin slightly different here and the quality is never absent but nothing he has done in the last 5 to 7 years has wowed me. I would like for them to go to a much darker place but i dont think it's possible really.
Nice review pretty much agree with what you have said on here but a little surprised Three Bedrooms didn't grab you but hey that's just me. I love this band and it's funny how a long ass time ago (and still today) I was fan of Les Claypool and more recently DG and these 2 trains collide yesterday NOBODY SAW THAT COMING. I just do not know what to expect anymore from this band and that's why i like them so much.
Myke, I think it would be really hilarious but interesting if Death Grips came out with an album that is the total opposite of their typical sound but still have that death grips attitude. Maybe like go for a neo-folk like Current 93 or Death in June, or something more moody and slow.
Hey Myke ! I was wondering, do you enjoy Vektor? I know that you're into black metal but I you rarely speak about thrash. Have you given their last record a try? It's really unique and probably one of the best thrash release from the decade, well at least IMO.
Why you no talk about 80808? This is a really interesting track to me. It sounds similar to Mxlplx - Civic Duites. Mxlplx is an early MC Ride project. Has a futuristic vibe. Still a good review. Definitely my favorite album so far this year.
A lot of the music I listen to I've discovered on your channel, so thx! Have you heard of Feral the Earthworm? He's an amazing rapper in my opinion id love to see what you think of him.
I might have just completely missed it but I think you missed out commenting on Three bedrooms in a good neighbourhood and 80808. Sorry if thats me just being a dopey mf. Either way awesome review, don't think I've ever been dissapointed watching one of your or DEHH's reviews. Keep up the great work P.s. I'd love to see Feefos impression of Bottomless Pit. Has he heard any of it yet?
Omg someone finally validated my opinion on Ring a Bell. lol jk but I love that track and no other people who I've seen review this or listen to it have seemed to like it.
Here you go Myke: Wretch 32 , Ghetts, Kano, Skepta, JME, J2K , Wiley, Chip, D Double E,Devlin, Scorcher, Mercston, Frisco, Santan Dave, Aj Tracey, Big Narstie, , Bugzy Malone,Jammer.
I love the cover. Something super creepy about a person smiling with their eyes covered. I mentioned it in the video, but ended up deleting it. Can't remember why.
Guys cut Mike some slack. He couldn't put the review out sooner because he was busy getting married to another man.
yooo funny seeing you here.
Inimical yo funny seeing YOU here

Watching myke review bottomless pit, I'm like "eh"
That's rude.
+Myke C-Town couldn't resist bud, nothing but love tho!
+Brad “B-Rad” Joyner I was kidding around, love the review love the album. Pretty sure Simon is just quoting Ride as well and you guys just aren't in on the joke, go listen to this shit it is fire.

This is completely off topic, but could you review one of Viper's albums? I feel like you're the only one who could do justice to "You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack".
I love you
My request was sincere! It's a one of a kind album that requires an unprecedented style of analysis.
BUT THREE BEDROOMS
DONT DO THIS TO ME MYKE
I'm like DEHH
An MC Ride lyric book with his visual art would be fantastic
We need a change.org petition.
Best album since the Money SHOP!
Hahaha! Jerk!
+Myke C-Town random,cool shirt, who is it?
+Nur Lowe Charles bukowski he was a great writer

yo myke when you gonna review bottomless pit?
Hahaha!!!
@BlockyKid917 I was about to say that haha
Death Grips gotta make a boom-bap rap album next
a necessity
That's slated for a 2021 release. They're working on their next album right now which apparently features Buena Vista Social Club as their backing band.
Ride is going to adopt DOOM's flow and Flatlander threw out his MacBook for an SP-1200. Their new name will be Def Grips.
OH HELL YEAH!
This
Ay Beezy isn't getting in on this one? Damn...
WHY A BITCH GOTTA LIE
Ring a bell is definitely my fav track. The contrast between the guitars and the kind of bubbly production is amazing.
i feel the chorus makes me go so crazy
Pee Pee Boyz The synth riff during the chorus is extremely cathartic and is the perfect track to have right before the brutal, disgusting, putrid, and violent final track.
@@ABCDEF-ix1qf thats a guitar lmao
80808 is more likely to be accessible to an average hip hop fan than bb poison.
someone needs to make the beezy dance into a gif
i.giphy.com/l41lViD9P1VjlFu8M.gif
Ty now someone needs to make it be top on reddit
Myke is the most patrician out of all of DEHH. Love you man
and I love Slint
Inimical kewl
No mention of Bubbles Buried in this Jungle and Three Bedrooms in a Good Neighborhood? Two of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Anyway great review Myke I loved this album.
8080808 too. Still a good review.
FUCK IF I EVER LET A BITCH GET USED TO ME
Bubbles Buried might be my new favourite Death Grips song
+Rhys Lloyd Honestly, I never listened to Kanye besides The College Dropout, which I thought was kinda shit besides all the Curtis Mayfield sampling. God, I love the Superfly soundtrack. Aside, it was "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Valentine" or something that was chastised for copying DG, right? I may look at it.
JandJandJandJandJ It was Yeeus that sounded like a wannabe death grips album, it was shit. And this is coming from someone who enjoys most of Kanyes album especially his older material.
BUBBLES BURRIES IN THIS JUNGLE?
at the moment, three bedrooms and bubbles are my favourite tracks. kinda surprised you didn't mention them specifically, though it's probably because they're somewhat similar to BB Poison.
"FUCK IF I EVER LET A BITCH GET USED TO ME" may be my single favorite moment on the album.
this is the most "normal" rap thing Ride has ever said.
'Someone like a Feefo'
Are you going to do a review of Death Grips' latest release "Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)"? Myself & many others consider it to be some of their best work yet, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Pixelphiliac ok can I just say fuck man. I like to think of death grips projects in terms of weapons of a sort and I think Steroids would be figuratively a big ornate spiky battering ram. Especially the last 4 minutes blow my mind
it's one of my all time personal faves of theirs for sure
hey myke, just wondering if you are going to review the new Radiohead album, and your general opinion on the album?
THANK YOU for talking about the Helter Skelter / on that Faust line, everyone glazes over it like "i'm on that Faust" is an ordinary bar
I love Death Grips. When Money Store came out I was like woah! What is this shit! Not a hip hop expert by any means. but I fucking love that band. THE MONEY SHOP?
Oh no! Did I say that???
+Myke C-Town yeah when you talk about BB Poison bumping in the whip
Hahahahahah! That's hilarious!
Can someone remix The Money Store with Britpop and call it "The Money Shop" (or, better yet, "The Money Shoppe")?
I thought he said "The Money Shot". ^^
you're such a good reviewer dude. so good at explaining shit!!! it's enlightening
I Fuckin' love Giving Bad People Good Ideas! It'S 100% my favourite track thy have ever done! Great video as always buddddddddddy!
Lol that intro is accurate. Great video as always, I think this is their best album yet. It's like No Love Deep Web Pt. 2 on acid.
*sniff that was beautiful
"What the fuck is pussy church and how do I go?"
Made me lol.
Loved the return to more of a hip hop sound. My favorite DG album since No Love Deep Web.
I agree with you toward the end of this review, for me this was the first project that didn't shock me, the first one that made me go "Eh..."
That was one of the best reviews ive seen on this album.
totally agree with not being very surprised with this, I was hoping for something really different especially with the strange karen black video they attached to it. I think a more meditative disorienting subdued and depressing album with lengthier songs almost like an expanded on GP in a way would be an awesome change of pace
2:17 what i've been thinking since my first listen! the black metal influence is real on this track
I thought of grindcore more.
Yeaah man, the title track is amazing, most definitely my favorite. second to that has got to be spikes, it's so catchy and the lyrics are heavy.
review bottomless pit next please!!
myke c town is a bottom for not reviewing this faster
Seriously?
But is he a power bottom?
Ryan Flood more of a twank
Great review Myke love it!
That phone off the hook sample in Eh was also a nice touch.

you are one of the best reviewers out there man...full of passion and opinion...your top 10 albums opened me up to some really great stuff...so thanks :)
Keep doing what you do Myke.
Yes, sir.
The "you like Bottoms...because you're gay" line at the beginning made my entire week, thank you for that. Great review as always!
Year of the Snitch when?
Hmm could Spikes be a continuation of Get Got, considering it is one of the tracks you said sounds like The Money Store? Get Got had a lot of references to driving a vehicle in the first verse.

You just found a connection between darkthrone and DG You earned a sub
Best review as always. Hope alls good Myke!
You reference black metal in this video with some of my fav songs on this album. What would you suggest for black metal?
Love the Bukowski shirt!
Death Grips best projects to me will always be Exmilitary and The money store. U said it perfectly when u were talkin about how they still put out quality but nuthin they do is really shocking or amazing anymore. I want to hear them mix their style with some Kendrick Untitled 02 type shit
great review, myke...on point, as usual!
Myke, I think it would be really hilarious but interesting if Death Grips came out with an album that is the total opposite of their typical sound but still have that death grips attitude. Maybe like go for a neo-folk like Current 93 or Death in June, or something more moody and slow.
This is my #8 of the year. Great album 😸
loved this review man!!
1000% agree with you, Myke! Great review.
Hey Myke ! I was wondering, do you enjoy Vektor? I know that you're into black metal but I you rarely speak about thrash. Have you given their last record a try? It's really unique and probably one of the best thrash release from the decade, well at least IMO.
great review bruhbruh
Definitely one of my favorite albums of the year with Aesop Rock Mr.Lif & Astronautalis
I'm excited to get the yellow vinyl for the album haha really enjoyed it
Why you no talk about 80808? This is a really interesting track to me. It sounds similar to Mxlplx - Civic Duites. Mxlplx is an early MC Ride project. Has a futuristic vibe.
Still a good review. Definitely my favorite album so far this year.
Btw Ik it's really random but didn't know where else to put it
A lot of the music I listen to I've discovered on your channel, so thx! Have you heard of Feral the Earthworm? He's an amazing rapper in my opinion id love to see what you think of him.
Three bedrooms and Giving bad people good ideas are my favs
7:09 you said the money shop lmao
I might have just completely missed it but I think you missed out commenting on Three bedrooms in a good neighbourhood and 80808. Sorry if thats me just being a dopey mf.
Either way awesome review, don't think I've ever been dissapointed watching one of your or DEHH's reviews. Keep up the great work
P.s. I'd love to see Feefos impression of Bottomless Pit. Has he heard any of it yet?
Tracks for Beezy and Feefo, but no love for Ken? I know he fucks with Death Grips.
Great review Myke.
I bet Myke's getting real tired of everyone's shit right now, about Death Grips anyway...
Love the intro.
Great review.
Omg someone finally validated my opinion on Ring a Bell. lol jk but I love that track and no other people who I've seen review this or listen to it have seemed to like it.
legendary intro
Finally I can tell my friends what I think about the album
THANK YOU MYKE 😘😘
to this day i'm still laughing from beezy's why a bitch gotta lie
Here you go Myke: Wretch 32 , Ghetts, Kano, Skepta, JME, J2K , Wiley, Chip, D Double E,Devlin, Scorcher, Mercston, Frisco, Santan Dave, Aj Tracey, Big Narstie, , Bugzy Malone,Jammer.
Damn, didn't even mention Three Bedrooms In A Good Neighborhood. One of the best tracks imo
This is a good review, thank you
What'd you think of Three Bedrooms? Also, that clip of beezy will always be funny.
GREAT SHIRT, GREAT ALBUM.
Not one lackluster track on this album. Might be my favourite of theirs.
>reviewing DG
>Bukowski shirt
You have have some damn good taste, sir.
Nice shirt my dude.
Best intro
Giving myke c-town good ideas giving myke c-town good ideas. Good review
The only reason I don't like it as much as other DG albums is solely because it feels like its the only DG album I could listen to on shuffle.
I listen to their entire discography on shuffle at this point...
that intro had me dying lmfao
hi myke, do you like mac demarco? him and tyler made a banger
death grips has been on a roll
GIVING BAD PEOPLE GOOD IDEADS I KEEP GIVING BAD PEOPLE GOOD IDEEEEEEEAS
yo "C" great review. I love the album. one of my albums of the year but I want to know what's your take on the album cover...lol. what do you think???
I love the cover. Something super creepy about a person smiling with their eyes covered. I mentioned it in the video, but ended up deleting it. Can't remember why.
Since you are a Charles Bukowski fan, have you read any of John Fantes books?
bottomless pit (track) is like an 8-bit Deafheaven track.
Death grips need to go smooth jazz - that would be a shock
death grips must cover low end theory
"man this shit is fantastic"
