Clark Gable was modeled after Jack Dempsey. Jack Dempsey was the real thing, what an honor to be the trendsetter for a generation. Jack Dempsey wound up out living both Clark Gable and David Jansen. And he was older than both of them by decades
One of my favorite actors of all time! I'm watch the complete Fugitive series right now such great acting and scripts during the 60s. Until 1969 when it went to color tv.
He had a tremendous amount of pain obviously. He was a superb athlete in his youth somewhere in his adult years he turned his back on all of that and started smoking four packs of cigarettes a day and drinking a quart of vodka. He had been a Walking Dead Man when he was discovered not breathing at the age of 48. He looked a decade or more older when he died.
Not so troubled. Y u think that? He was a great actor..and time honored..He never had scandal around him and just lived his short life. And entertained us all. Thais is my opinion and plse: no hate on me ..Because I love all.
you must not have read his bio. He was a heavy drinker and smoked 4 packs a day. Imagine what that did to his internal organs. It's amazing he even lived to 48 with habits like that.
@@helanesolomon1724 I live in Philly and would have gone down to KYW to see it. They tore KYW Westinghouse down twenty years ago and it's now a Jewish Museum. People in Philly were really angry at Douglas for leaving the city.
He had that Clark Gable thing. Never missed an episode of The Fugitive. Great actor.
He was no Huntz Hall but the late great Mr Janssen indeed was one gifted actor. Always very intense.

Absolutely handsome, classy and talented. Taken too soon.....🙂😔 R.I.P forever....Thanks for the posting.
You’re welcome.
Was a true classy guy, a rarity in Hollywood.
He was The Greatest Actor in Drama in Television of all time Period!!!!!
Mesmerising actor, taken far to soon...he was great in The Fugitive alongside Barry Morse & Bill Raisch
And Harry O was Good!
Agreed 💯 percent!
Yes..
David Janssen Icon!
A two-fisted drinker who didn't just smoke cigarettes, he attacked them. Love this guy and every picture he did.
CLASS ACT. His "Fugitive" series was the best drama on television, bar none.
Thanks for posting !
You’re welcome ☺️
Two Icons that you'll Never ever see again Ever PERIOD!!!!!
All of these great actors grew up in the earlier years poor enough and turned out the best ❤

Was my favorite show from 1963 -1967/68. Tuesday’s 9:00 pm central time.

Until 1969 when it went to color tv.
The Fugitive went to color in its 4th/final season when all primetime shows went to color for the 1966-‘67 season.
David Janssen was the hardest working actor in Hollywood in spite of his habits that never affected his performances
@@joeysanguine3596 yes, I so agree!

Yeah, the same can be said for John Thaw.
Who is that?
He had a great voice as well ❤
A shirt that set ablaze a dozen hundred thousand million heartzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

He looked sad and shy. Not saying he was. Sad he went too soon and looked lots older👍
GREAT ACTOR BUT BY MOST ACCOUNTS A VERY TROUBLED MAN,WHO HAD A SHORT LIFE!
Loved him in all his tv series. Seemed like a good guy. Found out he was Jewish at his funeral.
It seems he wasn't actually Jewish. His stepfather was Jewish but neither his mother nor his natural father were and Janssen was raised a Lutheran.
he DOES NOT look like a 44 year old man here. Smoking and drinking really does a number on ones appearance. he looks 64 here
It's sad about him aledgely smoking 4 packs of cigarettes a day and drinking every night it unfortunately caught up with him 4 years after this show
I thought they might have a conversation about Fugitive.
Humble. Hard for him to downplay anything, everybody in his family including Mr. Janssen was very successful at everything they did.
He was incredibly sexy.
@@susandonb58 I so agree!
I don't know how I feel about Dr Kimble going public like this.
😂
Was Douglas still filming in Philadelphia when this was done?
Yes, the show didn’t move to California until 1978.

The 🚬🧓🏼
I did not take to the show as I should have.
We used to watch it all the time when I was a kid ... it was always the one in our house
Sorry about that!!!
Is that a toupee??
I don't think so.
Think the interviewer may have one, lol
No.
No. It iz not/was not a rug. I can spot one a million miles away. Back then and now. Just to answer….
@@jamieminsky9436 he was only 44 here going on 64. even the grey hairs are real along with the thinning hairline
