Your pronunciation is quite impressive! You just missed "Lucio", which should be pronounced "Loochoo". 😊
Hope you mean latest ❤
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
Can you please always post a link to the origional video is the description please. This video is a restored and quality improved one. Lara Fabian is, in my opinion, one of the world’s most talented singers. Each song is performed with exquisite perfection because she seems to become the words she utters. Just watching her lips as they quiver, move, or stretch is fascinating. … and her sound? Unbelievably powerful ranging to softly vulnerable. Each performance reaches deeply inside my soul. She is my touchstone of excellence.
I think so too - she really is the full package 👌
Tanti saluti dall'italia
I heard so many versions of this song, but none move so much than this one. She's an incredible singer! Thank you.
Same ... Goosebumps everytime
Same i always hope for similar experience listening to other 's versions but they fall short. Simply her's is too damn magnificent.
Wow wow wow!! She’s just beautiful inside and out, isn’t she?? Her singing shot chills down my arms and scalp. I really appreciated your analysis and reaction on this one! 🙏🏻 wow!
She is! Thank you
Im 56, and fellow long time bald man. You young man are doing a unique, original and appreciative reaction breakdown of Unicorn extraordinaire that is Lara's infinitely captivating singing.
Wonderful...
No question, why Dimash loves her, adores her..
I am dreaming of a real big duet of the both together..
Thank you ❤
I love him singing with her and Aida❤ Although to be honest, I wish I could see a duet with him and Lara alone.
Piano and voice… nowhere to hide. Lara telling us this beautiful story in lovely Italian, singing, speaking and grabbing our attention and emotions… you can tell she loves that song. So talented and generous. Thanks 🤗
This is, for me, the most beautiful thing ever performed and recorded 💙
Tks Sir. Muitos beijos do Brasil 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷
Merci. Salutations de France 🙏🏼👍❤️❤️🇫🇷
She is a fabulous singer, without a peer. And, as usual, I thank you for teaching this old metalhead something new. I'm glad I have found your channel.
Thank you. Lara's delivery is gorgeous and so incredibly moving. She makes me cry. It is beautiful. I really appreciate your observations. Her performance is so much more touching than others.
Her face is so bright and open and then she sings and even though l am transfixed by her emotions her voice fills all my senses.
Any cover from Lara becomes her own, a new masterpiece, amazing woman!
Beautiful! The Latin languages are emotive, and the imagery superb. Lara has that heritage, and sings with her soul. Sir Hairless, you listen with your soul. Thank you for FEELING with us!!❤
This is the performance where I fell in love with Lara forever.. Thank you Sir Hairless 🫶🏻
I subscribed to your channel quite a while ago because your perspective is so interesting to me and so informative. Usually the majority of us remember a song by the first singer we hear performing same...........in this case it was by Pavoratti for me. Lara's performance here has bucked that general rule - in my head this is now what I compare all others to. The song is about an older man who is dying and professing his love to his younger wife and is usually covered by an older man but her version is so much more emotional rather than vocally acrobatic as some opera singers seem to do. This to me is now my personal standard for the song " Caruso ". For me it just adds to my respect for Lara Fabian...........she exhibits in all her performances such a profound respect for the composer, for the story as written, and for her audiences and her inclusion of each audience member. She is for me The Ultimate Artist !
Great and well said 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍
I couldn’t agree more. Lara is always so respectful to the composers. Also to the musicians she’s singing with. She never goes overboard just to show off her pipes. She’s precise and uses her voice as an instrument. I’ve already seen her singing a lot of duets and she’s always so generous. Never trying to upstage anyone, even when she could easily do it. And at the end of all her performances she gracefully thanks the musicians, giving them their proper credit. Such a dame!
I wasn't familiar with the song before Lara, but she instantly became canon for me. I just don't enjoy the others.
Very well expressed, Mr Z! 👌
True - same thoughts. Thanks for puting them.
As many times as I have enjoyed this performance of Lara's, it still moves me emotionally to tears every time.
Welcome back with The Goddess Lara Fabian!!!...Caruso is one of her best performances so we love it!!!....Thank you for your amazing reaction my friend!!
It's not just her voice, but every single piece of her, that she puts into not just THIS song, but...IN this song...just...

Thank you.
Lara is international underrated. She is as great as Celine or Whitney
Thank you for all the "feeling"...
Wow indeed! Chills and tears. Thank you for introducing me to Lara Fabian. I have loved every song you've reacted to, and your reaction, as always is superb!
As Italian I confirm, one of the most beautiful song never written, you are so sensible to react to this and Lara...Amazing
This combination of this beautiful melody and her extraordinarily gorgeous voice is so emotional .
The one and only Lara Fabian! Her timber is otherworldly
Sir Hairless! Yes it is a beautiful beautiful song! But the way you feel the music is contagious SH!! Thank you for a brilliant analysis of this superb performance! I'll watch it and feel it with you a few more times, that's for sure! 🙏 ❤️ 🥹
yes 100%
🇨🇦 Yes, just a Piano, a Pianist, and Lara ! Simply a Master Class ! 🇨🇦
Great reaction but I must tell you you have to see this woman live. I just attended her concert from her Je t'aime tour in Ottawa on June 14th. At 54 years of age she sounds exactly the same. She did this song at the concert and it was beautiful. Her 2024 world tour ended in Quebec City the next week. She is doing another world tour in 2025 beginning I think in October or November.
Thanks for another accurate analysis of a Lara's song! So nice and so moving to see your beautifull eyes wet when listening to her!
Her diction of these italian words is so exact and clear (that's her mother language privilege)
Bravo Lara!!!! Magnificent performance! Moved me to tears. Thank you, Sir!
Thank you😉
🇨🇦 Your comments about Languages changing the song and her different characters for each song, and all the different arrangements from the original, but I would add as well, that there are 11 or 12 songs in this concert in which she has to play/remember 11 or 12 different arrangements/roles ! Genius ! 🇨🇦
Oh boy! This was really beautiful, your reaction, your analysis - what a pleasure to see you listening to Lara and this emotional rendition of the song! Thank you so much, again! ❤ But this was special....
Thank you for the great reaction. I love the details you mention. Before hearing Lara's version of Caruso, my favorite was Jackie Evancho's - and while Jackie's version is beautiful, no one can touch Lara (on any song). She manages to touch my heart and my soul.
I’m always excited to see another Lara reaction from you. I just had the privilege of hearing her sing this 2 nights in a row in Canada. It was so lovely. Her work ethic to maintain her voice is amazing. Her Italian vocal coach works with her on a daily basis and travels with her to concerts.
It’s sad that this amazing concert was filmed in Canada to be aired here only on PBS as marketing for her CD. I wish it had reached more people.
It's reaching more people now, though! Which I just think is such cool bit of good karma after everything she went through here.
@@elizabethwhite1068That’s a good way to look at it.
She is the ideal example of performing a song and not just singing one.
Sir Hairless, thank you so much for this fantastic reaction. I so appreciate everything you share with us that deepens our appreciation for the songs we love. You are one of the very best reactors. I always look forward to your Lara and Dimash reactions. ❤
Great reaction and analysis to a fantastic interpretation of a beautiful song. 😢
This is a tiny response to something another person said, Lara was born in Belgium, but moved to Italy at a young age; specifically, Sicily where she grew up with her Mom & her Grandma. She consider’s Italian her “Mother Tongue”, because it is the first language she learned to speak. Lara sing’s in 12 languages & there is a video of her singing in all 12. Lara’s worldwide tour took her to Istanbul speaking in Turkish perfectly. Perhaps she will release a song in Turkish soon. She just so amazing.👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Sir Hairless
So happy to see yet another great reaction to Lara from you ❤
I really enjoy your music explanations ❤
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
Wow! So BEAUTIFUL!! So True! Thank you so much!
I know Lara’ songs and versions by heart now. Your specific and masterful analyses makes it worthwhile to take the time to listento you especially. Great now ! Gr from Belgium.
Fantastic reaction and analysis for this fantastic performance.
And, yes... this whole concert is a vocal master class. "Perdere L'amore" next?
....Lara is simply....the best.... !
i wish we were mates!!! i'd u lived in norfolk i'd have to buy u a point and pick your brains, your knowledge and talent in next level. another amazing breakdown thank u.
🍻
A reaction that is always as detailed as usual but which does not make us forget Lara's talent; Bravo!
I learn so much of you, all about the song, how she sing. So god are you 😀😀
Thanks.
Awesome, flippin flappin awesome. 14 thumbs up. What I loved most is that you seem to be more in tune with the artist (and with Lara that is critical) as few if any reactions of Lara catch on that everything Lara does, virtually syllable by syllable is intentional. Not just the score and vocal sound, but the body language, the posture, the diction, the coloring and much more. Lara does more in a single phrase then our supposed pop star singers utilize in a year. Early in the song she mentioned the "Gulf of Sorrento", except she pronounced it "Surriento", different, AND 4 syllables V 3. Why? Mistake? Nope. Caruso was from Naples and Neapolitans pronounce it Surriento. Lara. Misses. Nothing. Another, Caruso is dying and leaving behind his young wife and small child. Intensely sad. Each chorus he is closer to death. So he, Caruso, which is who she is playing at that moment, is getting more desperate to tell his wife he loves her. Tearjerker 11 on a scale of 1-10 and Lara treats the subject with great care (intention). Hard not to cry and in the hands of Lara? Impossible.
A legend, a living walking, talking masterclass, a G.O.A.T., a Queen...long may she reign.
Well said!!
@@elizabethwhite1068 thx - I did not discover her until 2.5 years ago - I spent a month pissed about how on earth I could have missed her - I had heard of her, the name, but never heard her. Still sickens me. lol
@@justingamble3876 It's a very common occurrence, so you aren't alone. I discovered her during the 2018 Olympics when a pair of Canadian skaters used Je Suis Malade. They were wonderful, but it was the voice that made me bolt upright and grab my phone to Shazam it. She immediately became my favorite artist of all time. And I still get irritated that I didn't know who she was sooner. Stupid Sony. But here's the lucky part, she's still performing and putting out new music so we can still enjoy her as an active artist. She truly is extraordinary and so special.
@@justingamble3876 You're not alone in that. I only discovered her during the 2018 Olympics when a pair of Canadian skaters used Je Suis Malade. @@justingamble3876If you're american you can thank Tommy Motolla and René Anjelil (if he was alive...) for screwing Lara in the american market! I think that it was so childish to dump Lara because of the "competition" to Céline Dion! People known the two in Europe and European market was big enough for both, but in the USA, everything is tirned to ridiculous competition, to a fan war! I'm her fan since 2001!😊
Sublime!!
Masterpiece of story singing and theatrical stage performance,
One thing always strikes me is her ability to keep a perfect and clear diction no matter the language she sings.
It is my understanding that Della wrote this song in the suite of rooms in which Caruso Died. Caruso had returned to Italy ,with his woman companion and their infant child, to spend his last days in Sorrento. The song is written in first person, in the imagined Caruso's voice, regarding the situation and his love for the woman.
Incomparable performer.
Bravo 🙂👍
Check out her 2009 album 'Every Woman in Me', covers of modern classics by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, Carpenters, Diana Ross... just the majestic voice and piano accompaniment. Pure gold.
I've heard this song often from Pavarotti and Carreras in concert/recital. I always loved it but Lara takes it to a new level. Your commentary on language and the different sound of words so interesting, particularly the West Side Story reference. You're exactly right!
It is great to listen the song whith your explanations and understand things that i did not know because i am not a musician
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.
It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). Even Metallica covered it
But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla.
I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.
For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Italian is her first native language. Her husband is also sicilian. She also has been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.
@ericsicard910 - ua-cam.com/video/seH433pavKM/v-deo.htmlsi=ZfKS7ku-rSW1_bKs- has escuchado la adorable canción Les Ballons Rouges por Lara Fabian y Serge Lama ?

And her duet with Serge on Je suis malade is also a must see
@@ericsicard910- ua-cam.com/video/Wqe3H8EuAaE/v-deo.htmlsi=imN45dthKTdNY1Am- muy emotivo cuando Serge Lama le canta a Lara Fabian, Je t'aime, cambiando algo de la letra , para expresarle su amor.❤️
Yes..yes and yes again. One of the best concerts of all time. Thank you very much for this amazing video. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.👍👍👍
OMG!! This song by Lara... every time my heart is about to explode from all the emotions she conveys : love, pain, sadness... My favourite one among all my other favorites from her. 😉😆 Thank you for your excellent reaction, as always.
By the way, would you mind telling us a bit about your musical background ? Sorry for being curious but each time I am stunned by your knowledge and by your ability to catch everything in one go.
Take care. greetings from France 🙏🏻🇫🇷
Thank you!
I may do a Q&A in the future, answering questions about me and my history, if I reach a certain milestone
Amazing reaction. Great thanks for this song❤
There's a reaction from every one who hears music that is a definitive tell... either there is a feeling of joy, or there is not much of anything.
Thank you for this amazing analysis and reaction.💛
I’m so glad this brilliant video was chosen to receive Sir Hairless’ analytical and emotional attention :) Thank you very much for sharing your interesting thoughts on it and your heartfelt, beautiful reaction (that almost stole some tears from me🥲)! Among all Lara’s live performances that I’ve seen so far, this is my favourite and it never fails to bring some deep emotional responses to the surface of my existence… She is absolutely majestic in this hypnotic performance with her masterful art of storytelling using the enticing Italian language❣I feel that, just like Dimash, Lara is not known enough around the world, unfortunately… Thus, I also thank you for helping to disseminate their admirable talents to a broader audience - you're amazing!😊
Great reaction! Been waiting for this one, so glad you did this song! For me, this is her masterpiece, when she sings in Italian it's always just...more. And I totally agree this concert HAS to be one of the single best performances by any singer ever, every single song is just epic. Great video thanks!
I need to listen to more of Lara singing it Italian! 🇮🇹
Caruso takes me back to my childhood and has always been a song I have loved. I saw Pavarotti here when he performed in Stellenbosch and he sang Caruso - Lara gets my vote on the best performance!! ☮❤Sea Point, Cape Town
I’m very much enjoying learning of LF through your R/A… loving this concert. I’m very glad we listened to some other songs before experiencing this one…she expresses total vulnerability, and somehow also strength, and it’s achingly beautiful. Mahalo
Lara is definitely one of the best female singers, extremely talented, I could listen to her all the time, I love this version of the song much better than the original; and you’re extremely right this concert is outstanding
I'd like to introduce an amazing vocalist to you: Taka of One Ok Rock, a Japanese rock band. His cover of Adele's Hello is spectacular, but songs like Take What You Want (Ambitions tour live) or Your tears are mine (Luxury Disease tour live), or the acoustic jam session version of Mighty Long Fall are amazing introductions to his vocals. He is currently one of the best rock vocalists in the world (not my personal opinion but that of vocal coaches). :)
Lara has an extraordinary ability to breathe new life into overplayed music - music that actually is fantastic but that has lost its spark due to overplaying.
I want to hear her sing Vivaldi's 4 Seasons!
Loved your reaction, your appreciation. As always.
Fantastic...I was expecting your react of this song.. Very Very nice.... When possible, try Perdere Lamore, same show, another pearl of Italian music...
Another great Italian song that Lara covers is Perdere l'amore. One of my favorites by Lara.
Sublime singer/artist. Sublime analysis.
⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡
Lara❤
Beautiful. SO emotional as usual. She always makes you feel the music. (Dimash also makes you feel it.)
I have heard this song before- a few on AGT and BGT.
Lol it does remind me of America from West Side Story with the way that she and Anita ( Rita Moreno) sings it with a Puerto Rican accent even though Lara sings it in Italian. It sounds similar.
This song was written just for her😊( seems so even though it wasn't). She owns it. I think it is just tailored for her.
💖R/A🎼
Sir Hairless! ❤
Bella canción, hermosa voz.❤
She emotes and delivers the words in a very special way and it makes you involved and affected by them. Dimash recognises the way the spell is cast as a fan of Lara’s and he is also an incredible singing wizard who can captivate in this almost hypnotic way.Thank you for your reaction 😊
It's like opera... Either you love it or you don't....
Perdere l’amore!! You HAVE to listen to that song!
So far I loved every version of this song well I know just a few, the original from Lucio Dalla, of course and the coverversions of Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Vittorio Grigolo, Al Bano, Il Divo, Gianna Nannini, Céline Dion & Florent Pagny, Lara Fabian and the Cello version of Stjepan Hauser - no matter which version, this song always touches my heart deeply. Might have something to do with the fact that I have heard records of Enrico Caruso and I love the passion in his voice
I completely agree with you. I have watched and re-watched numerous songs from that concert dozens of times, and for me it seems like one of the all time best concerts to have been at and heard live. I always feel so envious of those who were in the audience that night.
I send you my compliments sir.
Congratulations, what great work of analysis based on concrete facts. Comparing Lara Fabian to those predecessors who performed Caruso before her is somehow unusual and clever regarding Lara Fabian.
Few admired the way she took this performance to an unattainable level.
In short, professional work!
🇨🇦 There are a few more missing from your Playlist ! Try "Quedate" in Spanish, "Requiem pour un fou" a duet with Johnny Hallyday or "I am AWA" to observe her methods ! 🇨🇦
Absolutely no singer opens themselves emotionally like Lara Fabian. Just so moving.
It always makes my day when I see a new Lara reaction from you. Your analysis is always so interesting and I love how you bring in comparisons to other versions. It's always interesting to see how she technically makes a song her own. I didn't know the song before Lara, so her version is canon to me. The soft desperation she imparts, with a voice that cuts to my soul, there is just no other. Her musical intuition and skills are extraordinary. The closest other version is Josh Groban, and I wonder if he based his on hers. But I'm sure a big part of my bias is just because no other voice does what Lara's does to me. I'm tempted to make a request for your next Lara reaction but I'm sure you have a good list going already. As always, thank you!
Hello, SH! 👋
This is a very beautiful italian song, I listened to it for first time with Lucio Dalla (italian singer and who wrote it!), by request of my italian teacher, that was many years ago, before Lara started to sing it and almost made her own (😂😂) also years ago...🙄, maybe you should do a video about Dalla's version, that would be great! 😊, or maybe another Lucio's song ...🤭
Anyway, thanks for your analysis, excellent as usual!👌
Stay healthy&happy ✌️😉🇲🇽
Well. No surprises, already your fun. Great job once more ^^
I first heard this song sung by Jackie Evancho, still love that one by her. Comparison with Laura is pointless, they are both wonderful.
