Thank you for the reaction. This song is amazing. I would like to recommend "Brejeiro," the version that is on the "Ken Gilman" channel. I would also recommend "Ritmo Colombiano." Congratulations on the excellent channel.

I don't know if it's pertinent, but, to me, the lyrics loosely evoque a very provincial kind of mysticism which is common in the country side of Brazil. Maybe the conflict you felt by the end (with no clue to decide what to feel about the music) is due to the very nature of mystic experiences: they're confusing. The lyrics seems to describe the feeling one gets outdoors, in the middle of the night, hearing the sound of the roofs coursing towards you. I can perfectly imagine people in the countryside of Brazil giving supernatural tones to the experience: is that really *just* a horse? Feeling your blood running cold and your heartbeat increasing would be an adequate response. Mystical experiences are both terrifying and fascinating.

Please note that while Diana is yodelling, two men pick her up by her lower thighs (just above the knees) and place her in the boat. And her singing changes not a jot. That in itself is an exploit that deserves mention, along with the fact that her jodels are all the same.

LOve your reaction, you find interesting details that the many do not. Subscribed. One thing you should know is that this concert was her first really big venue and she was very nervous. One can understand her, with 8000 people present, including price winners, royals, ministers, celebs en masse, AND an estimate of 350 millions watching this live on TVs. The concert host that year was Jay Leno btw. Thankfully she has grown to now loving to perform live, interact with the audience, and much bigger crowds, really big crowds, selling out everywhere she go, and she really do world tours. Her fans, that she lovingly has named her Warriors and Weirdoes, are numerous in Asia, Australia, North and South America and Europe. To get to know her better there are TONS of interviews, several in depth documentaries and especially the HAIK docu from NRK is very good, the concert part is done in a forest where she grew up. Make sure you find the one with English subtexts. Finally, if doing more reactions, for The Seed, The River, Cure for Me and Apple Tree, use her music videos, they are great ART in my eyes, and ears.

OMG Sir, I will admit that I got a bit emotional when I saw that you reacted and analysed this particular song by Yamandu today because it felt like a beautiful homage to his birthplace (i.e. the State of Rio Grande do Sul), where, sadly, has been suffering a devastating crisis for more than a month due severe flood caused by heavy rains and storms that have hit this part of Brazil and surrounding areas… I think Sarará is one of Yamandu’s compositions that represents very well his strong musical influence by the traditional and regional music from that area comprising a unique mix of cultural input coming from the Southern Brazil and portions of Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Chile (known as the ‘gaúcho’ culture, which is traditionally represented by skilled and brave horsemen). The meaning of the word ‘Sarará’ in Brazil is heavily related to physical traits derived from miscegenation (such as a peculiar mix of colours of hair, skin, eyes, etc, and it used to be a derogatory word in the past but nowadays it’s became something often celebrated); in the case of Yamandu’s composition, I guess he is referring to a type of crossbred horse with a set of physical features that he recalls from his childhood. Apparently, this song carries a lot of personal meaning to him, which makes a lot of sense the amount of emotion he puts into this performance. Even though I prefer his performances without actual singing in it, I love his passionate way of playing this song (and also the whistling part): it’s infectious and creates a lot of joy in my heart :) I also loved watching your face expressions giving hints on your emotional reactions of surprise/hesitation/insight/enjoyment/overwhelmedness (not sure if that word exists?)/etc… Your analyses on Yamandu’s artistry are true gems and a great joy to watch, thank you again, dear Sir!! I hope in the future you can meet Yamandu’s lovely wife Elodie Bouny, playing with him the Paraguayan classic ‘La Catedral (Allegro Solemne)’ - video “Visita Boa: Yamandu Costa e Elodie Bouny”; I think you’ll love it!✌

Hello. It was funny when you said that you didn't know what to expect to hear from Floor, because she really is able to sing anyway she wants. She can mix growling, heavy-rough-kind of voice, angelic touching voice, and next second top-class opera-soprano or etherical whalesong imitation kind of singing. Now that you have heard her singing, you can't wait hear more and more. It's quite a priviledge to live on this planet same time with her. Of course Tuomas Holopainen is also to blame for his huge talent to write these songs. And the whole band expresses all songs perfectly. Proud to be finnish.

I have a feeling you will follow a similar path to Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice channel. She is an opera singer and hadn't heard any symphonic metal before starting her channel. 3 years later she is one of the definitive channels (Over 1.6 million subscribers) in exploring the many sounds that come from metal. One of her first reactions was to Nightwish and she was hooked on the genre. Other bands within the genre would include Epica, Within Temptation, Xandria, and Ayreon. Also be sure to listen to the singer Dianne van Giersbergen, the former singer of Xandria. She has a pure operatic voice and has been releasing videos featuring her incredible talent.

My first time viewing your content, presumably presented to me from my love for Nightwish. I cant add anything to what the other NW fans have written, other than I, too, find you one of the best NW reactors ever. I intend to watch some of your other content. I sincerely hope you react to more NW songs. You will find your own musicianship the better for it. Also, check out the film titled Imaginaerum. Tuomas wrote the score and co-wrote the screenplay. I The score is from the NW album by the same name and the plot is based on the music. Extremely interesting film.

Hi Sir, I didn't know where to put this so chose Sanchez-The Pool forum. I'm formally :) requesting my first analysis of a song. It doesn't matter if I have to wait two years I really want this video to be part of your marvelous library, even if I'm the only one requesting this song. I became a fan of Katie Melua's about 5 years ago, and this video was filmed back in 2013. Normally I would choose something more simple to showcase Katie, but this video is amazing because: 1) Katie's voice 2) instrumental layering, ah, the beautiful harp and strings 3)the conductor wrote this song. He explains the 'why' in the comments-4 down from the top--Mikebatt9905. The lyrics-see more info-are simple, tender but with a powerful universal reach. I do wish they lowered the volume a tad on the instruments, but then I want Katie's exquisite voice to shine. So thank you Sir, and I'll patiently wait till 2026. I hope you like this ensemble as much as 41,590,630 of us did. ;) I'm partially teasing, but it makes me so nervous to request an analysis of an artist that I love, I'm so protective, even though I know it will be in good hands with you. Could you put a tiny GIF of a kitten or bird to show you've seen this comment and I'll come back and delete this thread lest I startle a Sanchez fan. video: ua-cam.com/video/7IRIP-hSfJ0/v-deo.html
