I may have suggested Lara's En Toute Intimite concert of 2002 already. I could recommend each song to you as one you should hear and see but here are two: Il Comme Dissent (wrecks me) and Je Suis Malade, performed quite differently from her From Lara With Love concert. En Toute Intimite is a series of sublime performances. Open a bottle of wine and sit back for a couple of hours of bliss. Salut!
Truly a pinnacle concert of her career. Every number is stunning! Comme Ils Disent is a masterful interpretation of a classic Aznavour song. Lara truly lives it as she does every piece she performs.

It's soooo refreshing to hear someone with proper musical knowledge. It's amazing to see so many "teachers", "musicians", "vocal coaches" which are unable to recognise the source of Adagio (sometimes not knowing even the meaning of the word) or to recognise Caruso from Pavarotti's version. I really appreciate your approach- you have the curiosity to check which song was compose first.
As always, your reaction is exceptional. My wife cried listening to it (not because of me, LOL but because of a past love). Anyway, gorgeous voice of Lara and interpretation by you. Again. Thank you!

Frankly, I can see her lower lip shaking at 20:36 like when people cry, and sure enough, you started tearing up. She LIVES this song. It's absolutely magical indeed. Thank you for this amazing analysis. I feel you need to have your own TV show. Totally amazing!!
Her songs often bring me to tears. They are so poignant!! And take me back to broken affairs. Lauren is my absolute favorite female vocalist. And Dimash is my favorite male vocalist. Igor Krutoy has arranged and composed for them both. Laura and Dimash have a mutual admiration society, and have made beautiful music together! I am really excited by your very precise reaction. It’s one of the best I’ve heard. Thank you.
@@gingin51 I hope you feel better after being so snotty. Yes, I do know it’s Lara. I was tired and wasn’t checking spell check very well. Damn! This was a lovely video and you really are a piece. Did you get whatever is hurting off your chest? At my expense? Good. Obviously your skills are so superior to mine, and you for some reason, decided you would let all the people reading this know how self righteous you are.
Thank you. Lara is so beautiful to hear. Her emotion carries us with the notes and the lyrics. She is captivating. I truly appreciate your observations. :)
Wonderful reaction/analysis! As always I'm amazed by how much you can hear and tease apart in just one listen. And it just makes me appreciate even more the high level of her musicianship, which is at the base of all of these collaborations with other extraordinary musicians, producers, maestros and artists that she has worked with over the years. Her melodies have left me speechless countless times. They fall in step with her singing, in that they are intricate, complex and engaging, without ever being showy or inaccessible. It's truly another language skill she has. She creates such depth and meaning, yet never once talks over the head of the listener. Even one who has never heard her yet speak this language. It's just mind blowing to me. And no matter how many times I hear this song, every single time without fail, be it soft or powerful, when she hits the word "GO" I feel my soul launch into the ether. The full open maximizing of her resonance is put to great effect here. All of this in lesser hands would sound like a mangled car crash, but she balances all of it in service to the story and creates an entire work of art.
Such a great reaction and analysis from a superb musician himself! I always tear up at this song, with her rich pure tone and elegant handling of an emotional topic that many of us have been through. I’m lucky to be seeing her live in Budapest in two days, and then Dimash four days later. Thank you for this. I loved it. ❤
I’m guessing that she turns away during singing pauses because emotions are at a pitch. To me, Lara Fabian becomes embodied within each song. Perhaps that’s why this particular song speaks to me - we’ve all experienced having a profound love betrayed (a broken vow). Thank you for this reaction.
Another interesting reaction, like the previous ones, thanks. How does she preserve her voice? After 35 years of career she still studies every day with a vocal coach (Lara is a very determined and meticulous woman in her work) and from what I have heard in recent days during her current tour she has warmer tones and has lost a bit of extension...but very little. They were the great voices of the 80s and 90s, powerful and warm, who are no longer here today, apart from Lara. 👍
You sure are picking great ones, maybe with a little help, but never the less to give us another delightful R/A. Such wonderful lyrics going through anger, hurt, disbelieve, resignation, serenity and forgiveness seeking... and that orchestra!! Love the hobos. Thank you. 🤗
Oh you should my ever-growing list, from the comments about the songs it's full of bangers! If only there was more time to be able to get to everything quicker
Such a great and knowledgeable reaction, Sir. Thanks t that. We love everything she sings. If you want to hear her from later age, there's a studio recording of I am A-WA - also special peace. 🙏
The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian. Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he co-composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You or Hero and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that increased Celine Dion WW fame). He is produced a song for Dimash among others. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, they were living in San Francisco’s bay area, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her), - Linda Eder, - Cakra Khan, - Gigi de Lana, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Morissette Amon, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho, - … For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning. But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference ua-cam.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/v-deo.html
I think it’s worth knowing that English is her fifth or sixth language. French, which she is best known for, was her fourth language. Her maternal language was Sicilian, followed by Italian, Flemish, French, and English.
Funny you mentioned "You raise me up", song which made popular Josh Groban. He also sings Lara and Walter's "Broken vow". Lara and Josh even sang it together a few times, just as well as e.g. "For Always", song from a movie A.I.
I love this performance....what I get from this is that she is speaking these words as if the person was right in front of her and she is pouring her heart out and emotion with questions and the desperate need to know why. The part where she walks away i feel is to intensify the need to step away and gather her thoughts and return with the emotion of what she would have done for this person and how strong her love was for him and how he so easily betrayed her.
OMG! Such a beautiful performance to match a beautiful song ❤️❤️ SH I don’t really know if you missed something when she turned around but we, for sure, didn’t miss any detail after your analysis! 💙
Great reaction. I’m not musically educated, but I love to watch experts’ analysis, especially about singers I admire, and Lara is my queen. I love her voice and how she controls her notes. No rush, just pure delight. Like she’s really having an amazing experience alongside the audience and having the time of her life every single time she sings.
She often turns her back to the audiance when she wants musicians to shine and I think in this song also because she doesn't want to just stand there lol."You raise me up" is Josh Groban's song who actually did a cover of Lara's Broken Vow. From this concert I suggest Caruso and Perdere L'amore. Lara in Italian is just🤌👌It's her first language
Noticed this in my previous reaction, Mademoiselle Hyde - and Dimash did the same thing in his cover! Thanks for the recommendations - "Perdere L'amore" wasn't already on my list so I've added it for a future reaction 👌🏽
You sir...is moore than impressiv. The way you explain music and hear it is brilliant. Thank you very much. And yes. .I fell in love with Lara again Cheers from a finn in Sweden.👍👍👍
Lara has a knack for brutally ripping my heart out and then softly embracing it. I think the turn was for 2 reasons. 1. It put the focus on the musicians and 2. it provides dramatic effect. She goes from closing her eyes and dreaming to a dramatic 'Id give away my soul!'... It feels like a 'Oh, and one more thing!' moment of an argument with herself. Thank you again for your thoughtful breakdowns of these beautiful songs.
As much as I have loved and enjoyed music my entire life, I never bothered with the technical aspect of it. You Sir Hairless makes it so interesting however that I really do enjoy watching AND learning from you. Your ability to pick out minute details in melody and nuances in voice all add up to a very enjoyable presentation, as always thank you again.
Thank you for this new reaction to my Queen. I'm waiting to see her live. I don't mind the songs that she will sing, because I know that I will love them, she is great even speaking. Greetings from Zagreb
I thoroughly enjoy your intelligent analysis of Lara's superlative performances. To get a different perspective on her vocal abilities you should listen/react to an amazing duet of Lara and Johnny Holliday Requiem por un Fou. I anxiously await this reaction. You will definitely not be disappointed.
In her performances she regularly turns her back on the audience (see her Moscow performances) to face a big orchestra during a musical interlude. This has a dramatic effect when she turns back to face the audience but also directs attention to the orchestra. Plus Lara is always "in movement" on the stage either in her body or her movement across the stage. She could not just allow herself to stand there, silent!
You have done it again, Sir Hairless, with an outstanding recap and analysis of Lara...just seamless points of interest with your trademark visuals and astute commentary! I appreciate a great deal of artists and have sung/played classical piano a lot from a young age, but the reason Lara is at the top of my list is due to her vocal perfection that she clearly has put so much effort into that she can then pour her heart and soul into interpreting the meaning and feeling only she can do without sacrificing any quality, in my opinion. My favorite comment of yours today was about how Lara can maintain her power and tone at the end of a concert (yes, Broken Vow was the last song of the From Lara with Love concert). Anyway, thanks for keeping Lara on your radar and doing an analysis of her as regularly as you have been doing. I have presented a few videos to add to your list or future reference. Here's one more, from much more recently (2018 when she was nearing 50) called Pas San Toi (Not Without You---I'm bilingual English / French and her French songs really get to me;-). She introduces this song in the video, written when she was 21, a song that has come to mean that in many ways she wouldn't have had the meaningful life she has without her fans. It's very touching and shows us how well maintained her vocal prowess and magical interpretation remain after 30 years of performing. ua-cam.com/video/e-JhY-EUQkY/v-deo.htmlsi=h5SUCVGE4sZIOmJU
The part she’s leaving and coming back is the theatrical effect of her drama. She said what she wanted to say and she’s leaving. Though her emotions say to her, “it’s not enough, you;ve got to get it ALL out of your chest”.
First, I love that you continue to react to LF with your very precise technical feedback and second, you are not Mr. Without Hair, you are Mr. Beautiful Musician with perfect features, porcelain complexion, illuminated green eyes, exquisite lips, also perfect teeth, beautiful nose , sensual and masculine voice and your hands ohhh, so white and beautiful, that you don't need anything else and I can't concentrate watching you. Greetings and blessings to you and your family.
She leaves for dramatic effect. She turns her back and walk away, it’s like ..Ok I am done and I don’t care. When she comes back , she is coming determined and it’s like saying , look now I am strong and I will get on with my life.
Hi Hairless I really love your reactions to Lara ❤ Thank you so much for your fantastic explanations about what is happening in the music and how Lara always navigates it so amazingly in it that we are all captured and spellbound by her performance ❤ Another really powerful song from Lara is one of my absolute favorites from Lara ❤ Perdere l'amore ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html In Italien (cover off Massimo Ranieri - Perdere l'amore (Sanremo '88 Serata finale) - live) ua-cam.com/video/61G4qMCeerQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Sanremoandmore Love Lara ❤ Love from Denmark ❤
For the record, this pretty red dress will be given by Lara for an auction on French television 😌 Lara loves vocals, she was a big fan of Eve Brenner, a great vocalist, I really advise you to listen to the track “Vocalise” from the album mademoiselle Zhivago magnificence 🙏
Think of this as a conversation it vamps twice at the beginning because there's that moment when she is collecting herself to have this horrible conversation with this person who has betrayed her. When she turns round and you are seeing is that moment when although you have been trying to stay composed and seem okay because you want some closure. Then the facade breaks and you have to walk away for a moment collect yourself and then come back and just have that conversation ask, that question without trying to be strong or gentle . With Lara you can not think on terms of rules she sings from emotions and it is raw. Think of how you would react if this was a situation you are in not as a dispassionate writer.
Thanks so much for your great reaction!!! I love the way you analyse and explain the musical and technical aspects of the performance. Such wonderful detail!! You put a lot of thought into your reactions which is really nice.
Great reaction and analysis. One of the most incredible songs of loss I've ever heard. I think whoever wrote the melody and whoever arranged the orchestra both like Rachmaninoff.
She said in an interview that she wrote this song after breaking up with her fiancé because he was cheating. She said she was on the floor of her bathroom crying as she wrote it.
Maybe she turned her back to the past (I closed my eyes) and came back to face the present? It looks dramatic but I believe there is an explanation behind it because Lara gives sense (a meaning) to everything she does. Thank you once again for your great reaction. 🙏🏻🇫🇷 By the way, you said once you like emotional renditions : May I suggest you "el perdon" by Diana Navarro. Her video is heartbreaking. The lyrics are powerful. Her voice is stunning. And her breath control.....
Hello Sir. Lara em uma canção e interpretação espetacular e você em mais uma reação e análise sensacional. Como é bom isso tudo. Tks. Beijos do Brasil 😘❤️🇧🇷
Dear SirHairless if I may. The way you do your analysis, the way you speak to the audience, the way you look at the artists - all this gives a feeling of warmth, respect, professionalism. I realy enjoy listening to you like I watch a family kind movie or smth. Great thanks to your work on the chanel. Hugs ❤
Dear SirHairless, thanks for all your insights. Lara has insane stamina. This concert was in fact a recording session for 2 tv channels (PBS for the US and also one canadian channe) so there were breaks in between songs. Hence the fact she could also change her dress. But in the 1997 Pure concert she exposed her amazing stamina chaining insane masterpieces. The Yentl cover of Barbra Streisand with 2 songs chained and Lara running all over the place and finishing on a very mong sustained belt is a proof of her amazing breath management (ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html). The final song in this concert was one of her most demanding, another proof she has energy to resale (ua-cam.com/video/qWLQz-7uYP0/v-deo.html) She still has it: I attended one of her concert in 2022 and she ended it with an amazing rendition of Adagio ! And this week, in her eastern europe tour, she is ending concerts with Je t’aime, another vocally demanding song.
What people must understand lara phrases all her songs to get as deep as possible the feelings she is experiencing as she pours her emotions into words...so the listener gets her meaning in depth...
Amazing reaction to truly one of the best vocalists on the planet! I am SO thankful that I found your channel! Wonderful! Definitely would love a reaction to Comme Ils Disent from En Toute Intimite which was truly for many of us, a pinnacle concert of her career.
I always figured she turned around and left because she had said what she needed to say but then came back because she needed to add what she had forgotten to say. if that makes sense.
That was my sense as well. It was, "I'm done and leaving now." Then ... "oh wait, and ONE MORE THING" as she comes back to continue. Been there, done it or as we keyboard warriors say DAMHIK! ;-)
@@occamsrazor5376 Glad to see that others think the same. You phrased it way better than I did. English is not my mother tongue and being in my mid seventies certainly doesn't help.
Well done SirHarless. You’ve helped introduce her perhaps to a new generation that otherwise wouldn’t know who she is. Oh the reason she ran away was to say she’s done! She’s finished with him! Oh but then decides she wants to return twist the knife in one last time. Of course dramatic effect and allows a short focus on the musicians as well which she always does. She’s very grateful to her instrumentals. I think you’ve covered everything big of hers except for Je T’aime. Lots of live performances of those but one of the most memorable is when she begins singing the song and then an audience of 25,000 take over and she sits in awe and just takes it in. Might not be the best one to react to because it’s the audience singing a lot but one you just view personally to understand her stature in France and the youth of her audience that adore her. ❤️
Both Lara and Dimash sing and compose in an other genre, than I normally listen to .. But with those two, it does not matter .. their heart field emmotions gets me every time My genre is more in the lane of Angelina Jordan.. whom you still NEED to get around to! 😉 Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel ❤️🇩🇰🌷
Haha yes I do still need to get round to Angelina! She didn't win the last two polls she was in though - but she's still on the list so will come in the future! A lot of artists /songs to get round to
You crack me up;"Oops1 Where's she off to!?" 🤣 I wasn't paying attention to the camera angle. Just assumed she was now 'delivering' to a different section of the audience in a large venue. Will have to watch it again! That lip quiver near the end does me in every time... How she rides that fine line between the swell of emotion, whilst keeping her voice - every note - completely under immaculate control is somewhat of a miracle. I'm not so sure about the 'forgiveness' part. That 'letting him go' didn't sound particularly voluntary to me! 😵💫😪
Thought maybe she realised she had a train to catch back home Yes, I can't even imagine the emotions she feels when she sings, that she channels into her singing
I loved the woman in her 30 year with her intensity and her vocal performances. I loved the 40 year old with her willingness to discover many different musical styles, always with a fabulous voice. And I love the woman in her 50s who has managed to preserve her voice through hard work, adapting to the evolution of her voice while retaining that little bit of enthusiasm and complicity that makes us melt. I will love you forever and ever Even if you start rap🥵 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very nicely said, thank you
Such a great reaction and analysis from a superb musician himself!
That's what I thought too, miss Fabian seemed to be engulfed by the emotions from her previous love and her Agogik was at it's height.
She is the best singer on Planet Earth. ❤ Great reaction. Thank you. ❤
This whole concert was stellar
You sure are picking great ones, maybe with a little help, but never the less to give us another delightful R/A. Such wonderful lyrics going through anger, hurt, disbelieve, resignation, serenity and forgiveness seeking... and that orchestra!! Love the hobos. Thank you. 🤗
Oh you should my ever-growing list, from the comments about the songs it's full of bangers! If only there was more time to be able to get to everything quicker
An interpretation with so much emotion that comes through in Lara's voice. She's really great.
One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests:
- Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it),
- Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her),
- Linda Eder,
- Cakra Khan,
- Gigi de Lana,
- Regine Velasquez,
- Almira (from 4th Impact),
- Katrina Velarde,
- Julie Anne San Jose,
- Sarah Geronimo,
- Morissette Amon,
- Petra Berger,
- Harrison Craig,
- Rimar,
- Jackie Evancho,
- …
For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.
But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference

✌
OMG! Such a beautiful performance to match a beautiful song ❤️❤️
SH I don’t really know if you missed something when she turned around but we, for sure, didn’t miss any detail after your analysis!
@@SirHairless😉👌
@@SirHairlessanother reason to check it : it is apparently the song that got the young Dimash hooked to Lara.

You sir...is moore than impressiv. The way you explain music and hear it is brilliant. Thank you very much. And yes. .I fell in love with Lara again Cheers from a finn in Sweden.👍👍👍
🇸🇪
Lara is also a world class piano player and composer, and it makes me wonder how much of this song did she create the music for???
Ask @ericsicard910
Lara is the Queen of Resonance and vowel coordination. She is The Ring.
Are you at the concert in Zagreb tonight?
@@danielakeller7532 yes, I'll be there
Enjoy the concert tonight!
@@SirHairless thank you, I'll do, for sure
I thoroughly enjoy your intelligent analysis of Lara's superlative performances. To get a different perspective on her vocal abilities you should listen/react to an amazing duet of Lara and Johnny Holliday Requiem por un Fou. I anxiously await this reaction. You will definitely not be disappointed.
Autocorrect got me. That should be Johnny Hallyday
I love Lara's voice. Great reaction but what else can one expect on your channel. Greetings from South Africa
When lara sings she is living the experience like no other performer😊...no other ...she is in a sphere all her own....
The part she’s leaving and coming back is the theatrical effect of her drama. She said what she wanted to say and she’s leaving. Though her emotions say to her, “it’s not enough, you;ve got to get it ALL out of your chest”.
Very impressed with Lara's diction. Impeccable.
Ах! Спасибо! Спасибо! 🙏
Haha! Спасибо
А этот момент! Где Вы повторяете движение её руки! Так зацепил!😍 Это же невозможно повторить! Вы супер! ❤
Another fantastic reaction, with a lot of technical coments.... Thank you so much ...
Excellent reaction. I particularly enjoyed your exploration of the harmony and arrangement. Great stuff, thank you!
She leaves for dramatic effect. She turns her back and walk away, it’s like ..Ok I am done and I don’t care. When she comes back , she is coming determined and it’s like saying , look now I am strong and I will get on with my life.
Brought me to tears.
Hi Hairless
I really love your reactions to Lara ❤
Thank you so much for your fantastic explanations about what is happening in the music and how Lara always navigates it so amazingly in it that we are all captured and spellbound by her performance ❤
Another really powerful song from Lara is one of my absolute favorites from Lara ❤

Stunning, as always, a brilliant performance. 🎶 Thank you for your valuable reaction and analysis. I always learn something new, listening to you.
Thanks Karen!
Listen " Toi et moi" Lara duet with Dmitri Hvorostovski
Love Lara's voice. So clear, crisp, passionate. Always love your critique's, especially of Gabriel. Billy Boy
Ooof this woman! Her voice..every time i hear her i
I feel like its the most beautiful sound iv ever heard! Awesome reaction again! 💕
Thank you so much for this reaction from the Diva Lara Fabian!!!
Thanks thanks thanks for Broken Vow.
Que grande y atemporal Lara, magnífica!! Siempre me parece que canta dentro de una gran cueva. Muchas Gracias Sir 🎺🎻🇪🇸
Very beautiful song ❤very beautiful voice ❤very beautiful ❤Lara ❤
Maybe she turned her back to the past (I closed my eyes) and came back to face the present? It looks dramatic but I believe there is an explanation behind it because Lara gives sense (a meaning) to everything she does.
Thank you once again for your great reaction. 🙏🏻🇫🇷
By the way, you said once you like emotional renditions : May I suggest you "el perdon" by Diana Navarro. Her video is heartbreaking. The lyrics are powerful. Her voice is stunning. And her breath control.....
Hello Sir. Lara em uma canção e interpretação espetacular e você em mais uma reação e análise sensacional. Como é bom isso tudo. Tks. Beijos do Brasil 😘❤️🇧🇷
Thank you for your reaction you are a musical Genius thank you again i.m following you
continuez de nous donner toutes ces informations pertinantes cela nous rend plus intelligent merci
Lara Fabian gives you goosebumps no matter how many times you listen to her. And this is inexplicable. "Yentl Medley" recommended. Thanks
Hugs ❤
Thank you 😊
Dear SirHairless, thanks for all your insights.
The final song in this concert was one of her most demanding, another proof she has energy to resale (ua-cam.com/video/qWLQz-7uYP0/v-deo.html)
She still has it: I attended one of her concert in 2022 and she ended it with an amazing rendition of Adagio !
Been there, done it or as we keyboard warriors say DAMHIK! ;-)

Glad to see that others think the same.
Me suscribo por tus reacciones a Lara¡¡
Gracias 🙌🏽
"That's so nice, the melody" it cuts to me tearing up. Hahaha nice! Lara: always moving me for a million years
Both Lara and Dimash sing and compose in an other genre, than I normally listen to .. But with those two, it does not matter .. their heart field emmotions gets me every time
My genre is more in the lane of Angelina Jordan.. whom you still NEED to get around to! 😉
Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel ❤️🇩🇰🌷
Haha yes I do still need to get round to Angelina! She didn't win the last two polls she was in though - but she's still on the list so will come in the future! A lot of artists /songs to get round to
I performed with this song so many times. Love it.
Quests un artista molto sensible con una bellissima voce e grazie mille per aver scelto questo bellissimo video
Can you imagine, I have been at her concert in the middle of front row. Literally few meters away from her. It was unexplainable amazing.
Very informative and unique reaction. 👌.
Great reaction as always!!!!
Great reaction!
Thought maybe she realised she had a train to catch back home
Yes, I can't even imagine the emotions she feels when she sings, that she channels into her singing
@@SirHairless 😄
beautiful melody and great lyrics
J'aime beaucoup vos analyses, elles ouvrent ma compréhension de la musique, des nuances des interprètes. Merci
I will love you forever and ever
Even if you start rap🥵
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I noticed that Gabriel Henrique sings the Lara Fabian song LOVE BY GRACE. I thought you might like to compare the two singers doing the same song. I really appreciate your analysis. Billy Boy
