I actually got nostalgic during tee lockdown and started using it, rememberimg my mom had done so, and her skin was lovely. I got the cleanser, using it in the shower while washing my face, and use the moisturizer during the day. it takes just the littlest dab of either, so the jars go a long way, and have a very pleasant, gentle fragrance.
Fast-forward to about nine months later, when a friend of mine saw me at church. I hadn't seen her since before the lockdon in the pre-Ponds days. One of the first things she said right off was that I looked good, that I looked younger! Wow. Will definitely stay wit it, love it, is a fraction of other cleansers and moisturizers. I just use the original.

Good for you! Started using Pond's again recently, used it in high school, only the white beauty cream and facewash though. This time, used their moisturizer, sunscreen and serum and essence as well. Had been breaking out but I think these really helped improve and hydrate my skin

I’ve used expensive all natural and organic skincare and Haircare products. The Haircare products gave me dandruff and dried out my hair and some of the skincare products irritated my skin and I even got dermatitis. Natural or organic doesn’t mean better. I have used Pond’s skincare in the past and I loved it.

I’ve read about mercury poisoning in certain “whitening” lotions/moisturizer’s recently. Those types of creams are typically sold in south asian countries. So if you’re ordering online, definitely check ingredients and stay away from certain “whitening” creams.

My great grandma used olive oil to take her makeup off with. She passed at 86 from dementia but she always had the most beautiful skin even up to her death. I will always recommend extra virgin olive oil as a makeup remover over a product with chemicals. Olive oil followed by witch hazel work very well to remove my makeup.

Consumers need to be aware of the ingredients lists period!! If you don’t think companies will cut costs and skimp and use dodgy ingredients you’re mistaken. Look at J and J and companies like DuPont and Claire’s makeup (for children) that had asbestos. I’m always aware of ingredients and try to make sure my products are cruelty free and free of certain things I don’t like.

Fun Fact: I noticed, early in this video, that the black and white Pond’s TV ads from the 1960’s, they feature the well-known model, Patty Boyd, first wife of George Harrison of the Beatles.

Thank you for this very informative video. Perhaps the Ponds products were overall better in their original form, before Unilever got involved. These big corporations are BAD NEWS. I will be making a conscious effort to not give them my money anymore.

Great video! Unfortunately this Ponds cream is not the only one using methylmurcury ingredient in cosmetics these days and Mexico is not only ones sending it here to the US. China, Philippines, India, Thailand and few other countries. If you visit the California public health page they have a list of the results of many face crream they tested and Ponds has two of their products listed.

I like cold cream instead of cleansing balm or oil for a double cleanse. Ponds (as long as it’s unscented) is a good one. Neutrogena also makes a cleansing lotion, which is pretty similar.

Laura I just found this video! I am so shocked. I’ve always sworn by ponds and this was really eye opening! Thank you for doing a deep dive. I found it extremely interesting at the end you related it to yourself and spoke of how your skin seems more sensitive. The same exact thing has happened to me! So crazy I thought it was just me! Really makes me wonder what these skincare companies truly put in the products. Scary to stop and think we want results but get side effects instead.

So basically if I purchased my cold cream on Amazon and there is a Spanish writing under the English, and even if the written ingredients are "clean" I am still doomed because what you say is that mercury will not be written in the ingredients and if it is in Spanish it most certainly comes from Mexico 🤯 ?

    • @Laurajaneatelier
