Hello John. I'm living in the middle East(Saudi arabia) and I play Bo4 with an LTE connection😅 I had no other choice. Down around 60mgps and up around 20mgps ping 20-40. Can you please give any tips for this type of connection (4G LTE) SET Ups and what exactly I should look after and adjust. Thanks and best wishes for your you.
does these same tips apply for ps5, if not would you mind making a video on how to have the best dumaos settings for ps5. You are the reason I choose to buy a nighthawk XR500 gaming router lol
What's going on John, big fan and follower for some time now. I trust you and am thankful for what you do. I'm on att fiber as well so I got a little confused when you mentioned using one router, but I'll go back and watch. Quick question. I got a new wifi six gaming router and managed 8 port switch from tp-link. To replace pr I can make better use of a tp-link archer 1500 router and a unmanaged smart switch. Also tp-link should I keep those in the line up and a quick how if you have time. The question I really need to know, both the router and switch offer qos. So do I use the router qos or the switch qos or both. Oh if please forgive. I came out of the bgw210-700 with wifi off so lan to switch then switch to router correct then the ps out of the switch. Or should I just come off the bgw direct to ps4. I think I'm set proper but this video confused me a little. Thanks in advance even if you don't get to me!! I appreciate all you do!!

I experimented with my settings a little bit and noted and improvement with hardware speeds. With the Nighthawk R7000P. Disable SIP/ALG and Setting Nat Open. Manually Portfoward and Disabling UPnP slows down netgear hardware speeds. And use QoS if needed. Lowering MTU helps more if you’re ps4 is constantly dropping from the game servers you playing on.

So it's not completely true that MTU doesn't affect on the connection. It depends on a router and how the game's servers are designed. I have Technicolor TC7200U modem

So.. maybe you can help: I got a 200k Download and 20k Upload internet connection from my provider. The cable is plugged into my Router (Fritzbox 6490 - common here over in Germany/Europe) from this Router the cat 5e cable goes directly into my PS4. If I test my speed I get around 150-180k Down and only 2-5 Mbit/s Uploadspeed. I got all the Ports set up for my PS4, it is prioritized and also the port where the cable comes out is enabled for 1GB/s... As always great video! For some reason i have a ping of 30ms on wifi and I have 90ms over cable (sat6a stp 50'). Idea why? Also are standard switches will raise the ping?
Couple of questions. Would using a proxy server help me get 2 ps4s open nat type. Also would changing DNS affect my ping at all or just download speed? Thanks
DNS only affects download speeds from my experience, not ping. The best thing you can do to get 2 consoles on open nat is to use upnp and dont use manual port forwarding. Cod needs udp 3074 for open nat and you cannot forward the same port to two devices at the same time
@@JohnGlasscock isn't upnp enabled by default? I think I have the same AT&T modem/router that you have. I don't remember but I think when I did nothing one was moderate and the other strict by default.
@@pjw4125 with bridge mode and all that nonsense, yup. Tbh honest though you dont need open nat on both consoles. You can forward udp 3075 to the second console
Here's what I did. I watched a video about DNS benchmark, but i don't have a computer lol just ps4 and phone. So, I downloaded DNS Speedtest on my phone and found that the default dns my Internet provider links me to is not the best so I setup my ps4 connection manually with a static ip address and used the dns that got the lowest number and it dramatically improved my gaming experience. I also have my router port forwarded to psn and the COD I play. If you dont have a dns that stays in a certain range consistently without major rapid fluctuation you are most likely fucked
I’ve been using That DNS program to get the best DNS ,But are they suppose to change frequently? I’ve been having to change them everyday because of ping spikes high
First I wanna say I appreciate your info videos. I feel like this video is a bunch of your videos into one, which is good for those who did see the previous one. Quick question, I dont know if its just me, QOS for BO4 is useless because it grants high ping players an advantage? Have you experienced that with bo4 yourself?
To be honest.. I give up on call of duty and lag . I jus run my ps4 direct to the cable modem and my netgear router is connected to the modem and feeds my other devices .. I used qos and port forwarded.. I got fed up and have everything default
Awesome video and great channel! Have a question though. In my router options I found the possibility to enable ipv6. Is that a better deal than ipv4? Enabling ipv6 let pop up some other things to enable. For example adjusting manually the MTU which seems to be at something like 1245 or so by default. Earlier I tried what you said in your MTU video but I got the playstation notification about ip fragmentation at 1491 so adding 28 was not possible and I left it at the default 1500 even though smaller numbers like 1470 increased my upload from 4.1 to 4.7. Should I enable ipv6 and adjust MTU manually? To which number if yes? Or should I dont worry cause the psn speed test isnt that accurate? Im trying everything to get closer to my possible 10mbit upload so an answer would be awesome. Nevertheless thanks for the great vids here!
The only way to get nat 1is to hardwire from a modem only to your ps. And in my experience i got more lag like that than thru a router. You would think it would be better but try for yourself
@@fleet7121 if you don't have open Nat you can port forward on your router or put your PS4 into DMZ which there are plenty of videos on UA-cam to show you how to do either

Theres not anything that can be configured with hotspot unfortunately
My PS4 connection is so bad its like 465kbps
That's bad my normal is ussualy less then 100 and my lowest is 1
I will suffer with my 4.5mbps speed
I would be grateful if i had 4.5
Luke427 I wise man once said, people who struggle early on will succeed later on while others fail😁
@@pjw4125 at&t doesnt have upnp
@@JohnGlasscock lol so to get it i will have to disable the Wi-Fi and hook up a router to the AT&T modem?
@@pjw4125 with bridge mode and all that nonsense, yup. Tbh honest though you dont need open nat on both consoles. You can forward udp 3075 to the second console
I love you, helps even now, even if I was only able to. follow one tip. I normally don't believe vids from over 2 months, but I'm glad I watched this
Love this vid nice work keep it up
Thanks for the support
Here's what I did. I watched a video about DNS benchmark, but i don't have a computer lol just ps4 and phone. So, I downloaded DNS Speedtest on my phone and found that the default dns my Internet provider links me to is not the best so I setup my ps4 connection manually with a static ip address and used the dns that got the lowest number and it dramatically improved my gaming experience. I also have my router port forwarded to psn and the COD I play. If you dont have a dns that stays in a certain range consistently without major rapid fluctuation you are most likely fucked
Why did you put your default getaway in your primary dns?
Because I'm using my ISPs DNS servers
I’ve upnp turned on and port forwarding and dmz turned off and i have nat type open , does it sounds good?
UPnP is fine, i use it too! Its a AUTO mode of port forwarding! Meaning it does everything for you!
DJ Capo ohk thanks
Is not DMZ better than all the ports for that ip are already open?
I’ve been using That DNS program to get the best DNS ,But are they suppose to change frequently? I’ve been having to change them everyday because of ping spikes high
First I wanna say I appreciate your info videos. I feel like this video is a bunch of your videos into one, which is good for those who did see the previous one. Quick question, I dont know if its just me, QOS for BO4 is useless because it grants high ping players an advantage? Have you experienced that with bo4 yourself?
Nah I dont believe that
I wouldn't say qos is use less it's more of the line quality coming into your home that dictates that
To be honest.. I give up on call of duty and lag . I jus run my ps4 direct to the cable modem and my netgear router is connected to the modem and feeds my other devices .. I used qos and port forwarded.. I got fed up and have everything default
U are so helpful dude omg
Please i live in finland, my download is usually about 15 and upload is 1.4. Please give me best dns for finland. Tai joku suomalaine vois auttaa?
Just download DNS Benchmark, you will get the best DNS for your location.
@@letomgoode2857 Whats that is that psn app!
It is for PC but the results about the best DNS you can use them on your PS4
Why i can't put my default gateway in my primary DNS? I did the test and it was the best ping.
You can
I did it as you can see
0:20 thats a Internet logo in france
I don't get it
Dude at 1:30 I thought 208.67.220.123 was the fastest but I never saw you put it in anywhere
Why do I get nearly 30mbps download and 5mbps upload on my phone but less on my ps4 pro ?
I love how it says 1500 mbps but if it wasn’t photoshopped it would be 1.5 gbps
Lol
i have fiber and it doesnt say "gbps" stfu you don't know shit so dont talk.
Nah dude his internet is actually that fast😂
My WiFi is hot trash I average 22kbps
Omfg same
What’s the best connection for Houston tx?
MTZ_FOR_EVER 1204 I’ll tell you next time I go to Houston
T K lmao why did you comment in the first place then??
Tusken Raider to let him know duh
T K you should have just replied if you had an answer
I have nat type 2 how do i get the nat type 1
The only way to get nat 1is to hardwire from a modem only to your ps. And in my experience i got more lag like that than thru a router. You would think it would be better but try for yourself
@@booshay922 that sounds complicated and im pretty sure theres some other ways my friend got open nat by some method
@@fleet7121 if you don't have open Nat you can port forward on your router or put your PS4 into DMZ which there are plenty of videos on UA-cam to show you how to do either
Wat about mobile hotspots
Its weak better get cable modem like 200 M internet speed
Why run a modem? Do you have to run a modem before a router?
This channel is the best ! Been a fan of this channel for the longest. I appreciate all your videos John you help us make our gaming experience so much better! Less input lag, best router settings , Port forwarding, Dns servers, MTU, Qos and etc.. Please for 100k subscribers special bring back the chick fil a review one last time 😂
Hahahahhaha I'll think about it
Port forwarding makes me get packet loss even on ethernet. Is that normal?
I've never seen that before
Does it look like I have a pc
