I want to see these guys play with wood bats. I like the defensive gems videos. As hard as these jacked up guys hit the ball, the few that don't go out are hot shots that fielders make some nice plays on.
In my prime, I once hit a home run that went over the lights on a 300 foot fence, went over the walkway between the two fields and almost hit the center fielder playing on the OTHER field. It was the longest shot I ever hit.

@@EB14885it was an unreal shot. I never even felt the bat on the ball because I hit it so cleanly. I remember after I hit the softball, it looked egg shaped as it was going up.. I had a spectator come up to me when I got to the dugout and looked like he had seen a ghost! He said that was the longest shot he ever saw. I often wonder what it would have been had I hit a baseball. Who knows!

Sometimes when I am putting thousands of video clips in their proper folder by team or longest home run etc I make mistakes, hence the defensive play or the base hit in the longest home runs video. But these were all long home runs. The one I thought also wasn't that long because it looks like it goes barely passed the fence but if you watch it actually hits 2/3rds up the light pole and bounces straight down.
Wish our fields looked that nice. Batter box is gone by 8 pm game.

Agreed. My league team at BLD uses up our 5 bombs every week. Some over the net.

Yes but to hit the homers when needed and reach base safely 70% of the time is the goal of the game and do it at the Major level.

There technically isn't a box in slow pitch. There is no stealing, so pitches are dead if not put into play. No need rules wise to have them.

U trip is just stupid. Absolutely loaded bats with hard balls. Pitchers throwing freaking meatballs every pitch. The batting averages and homerun counts tell it all.
The strike zone is small at the top level but they test the bats at 240 compression. In a recent unlimited home run tournament there were teams that averaged 3.5 HR per game. So I'm not sure how easy it is to hit a homer.
What's the point of this sport if they throw as slow as possible, buy the best aluminum bat, and the furthest flying softball that money can buy?
Why don't they make the game more interesting by making the team more about defense, base running and good pitching ... like softball/baseball was meant to be?

Homeruns aren’t exciting with lob ball. I’d like to see inside the park homeruns. Way the hell more exciting and way the hell more skill involved than just showing up and swinging. Or I’d like to see them hit the homerun and then have a time limit to round the bases. If hitting bombs is so common that they don’t wanna waste time to have people run the bases, credit them only a double. In a major league field, how many of these are leaving the field. If the hitters get composite bats, defense should get 400ft fields and see whats what. I wanna see a 330 fly out or a 330 shot off the wall and see how many of these guys could actually leg out a double or better. This is a glorified homerun derby, its not real softball. All people ever talk about it hitting bombs when in reality it should only be a small part of the game, not something that happens 15 times a game.
The majority of these tournaments have home run limits. This is softball not baseball.
In our league, the 3rd HR is an out, with the 4th HR of game, that inning is over for the batting team regardless of outs.
Woopie. The batting form these guys exhibit it lousy. Looks like most of these guys are just bodybuilders. I used to routinely hit ones 385 to 405 on the fly, and I could run a 10.8 100 meters. Not impressed.
These players get paid to play.
this sport got completely ridiculous... days of 3 home run limit are over.. now its a home run derby with high compression balls and OP engineered bats .. proof that its ridiculous..: pitcher is an NHL goalie .. hitters can hit it out of MLB stadiums.. where's the fun?
