These videos are fantastic! It makes it so much easier for me to cut myself some slack on my something-is-off days when I get to see someone as good as Tyler stop and reset because he knows he is slipping into a bad habit. It's just a small part of the video, but in my opinion, it is just great content!
It's so refreshing to see someone post something like this and leave in the parts where people get frustrated; that's what real bp is like when you're trying to do something specific. I appreciate seeing Mis get upset and then you pick him back up, that's what it's all about.
The Dominican came out at the 24:22 mark. I appreciate the conversation and the approach to what you are trying to accomplish. It's not just hitting bombs but becoming a complete hitter.
Also great advice on staying closed through the step until the rotation, it's amazing how spot on Ervine's advice is, literally every time he tells you to do something you do it and the results are insane.
Been playing a while. These guys are legit. Knowledge on the overall philosophy of hitting is spot on. Thanks guys. Key takeaway for me. I fell into a habit of guiding the ball. Rotating my hips to do so. Bad habit Square up. Stay straight. Strike the ball and don’t try and Fit it into a 2’ window.
Honestly one of the most helpful videos I've seen. I'm small at 5'5" but I'm definitely guilty of not putting my weight on my back foot and chasing with my hands. I can hit everywhere but your comment about popping up to opposite side makes so much sense. Thanks guys!
I love that keep the front shoulder closed tip when driving/going to get the ball. For me, I had to change the way I say it..."stay back, stay tall, and drive through the ball"
Great vids and info! Was struggling a bit and forced myself to think about "staying stacked" and totally changed outcome of my swings...thx to you Cole and Ervine for the pointers!
Your BP content is great. Im glad I found these. The "Wait, watch , wack" has helped a lot. I have also been working on swinging fast and not hard which has helped me see swinging in a different way, much better energy transfer! Hitting the ball with intent has helped a lot with my control. Any tips on settling the nerves in the box at game time??
Would love to join one of these BP sessions, so much good stuff. Also, you guys got any lefties you could have in your next video? Would like to see how a lefty at this level approaches things. Thanks again!
Tyler ervine is in another level…..I was a hater last season thinking all he could was drop bombs. But this season he is killing it with base hits, power, even playing second base? Him and KP are 1-2 for best in the majors.
Is there a page to follow to know where y’all are playing tournaments? I would love to see some of you guys play in person. I really want to see the difference and soak up all I can even by watching.
What’s the best way to work on timing I feel like I’m always hitting off my front foot and getting hardly any power due to the pitch being so slow. I’m used to baseball pitching. Any ideas to get better timing for slow pitch? When is the best time or location to hit the softball?
Technically you should be hitting off of your front foot when you transfer from back hip to front and you brace on the front leg before transferring power to the arms
Tee work, tee work, tee work. Balance on your back foot for a second, then swing. On live pitching say "wait" (in your head) after the pitcher releases the ball. Don't move until you finish saying "wait". Then start your swing process
@@ChevyRedneckGFX yea but I mean like most of the weight on the front foot as opposed to more balanced. Either way I’m trying to figure out how to better time the pitching , when should i start towards the ball I feel like I’m swinging up to the ball. Guess I just need to find ways to be more patient and wait for the ball to come down. Just hard to get that timing right.
@@hittingwiththenation I appreciate it! Yea I’ve been doing crazy amounts of tee work and then think I’m feeling good then face live bp and feel like I’m to jumpy at the ball and swinging up at it. I’ll try that mental que next time. Thanks again for the assist.
I know it’s a little late, but does anyone have any tips for elevating the ball? I’m no big guy and it’s not my job to hit a ton of bombs, but I think it’s important to have every type of swing in your bag.
@@victormarinjr3230 I have a different brand, but it's not around anymore. This guy is the OG at these weighted sticks. I wouldn't go over a 3lb to start
I mean if you are starting out just take what you can get. Buy used balls off Facebook or where ever. I say the harder the better because with heat and hitting over time the balls will get softer. If you want to spend some real money then there are some "BP" balls out there that company's make. I use the Worth Platinum one piece BP ball
How do you guys handle the low pitches? I have a lot of baseball guys on my team, they like the low flat ones. I try to pass on them, but if ump is calling them strikes, need to protect, want to drive them somewhere
So if you really don't like them, I would scoot up in the box so anything that you have to reach for, you know, will hit the plate. If you do swing, then I suggest leaning with it and going out to get it. That means dont reach for it, but go with your whole body. Like tyler talked me through in this video
Jammed can happen when you are extending your arms but not rotating. Tee work it, and make sure you are going slow and following the beginning of this video.
*Just so everyone understands how juiced these bats are…. These guys are accidentally hitting balls out because the bat does all the work. As someone who just started playing slow pitch, it is absolutely easy to hit homers.. So when you see pros hitting balls way out of the park, it is extremely easy. The bat supplies the exit velo and power. If you don’t want to hit the ball out of the park, you can simply use a less juiced/pressurized bat. Hitting in this sport is very easy if you’ve ever played high level baseball before… any pitch with movement is much slower, so if you have hand eye coordination in baseball, softball is easy. It’s actually a very simple sport, to be honest. Failed baseball players can come here and succeed, hence I play it now because I’m too old to still play baseball, and this is a way easier sport to play!*
Thank you for your very long and pointless comment. This comment is like saying that painting art is easy because you know how to color in the lines. You just started, so let's leave the "softball is easy" talk to when you understand the different lvls, and skills it takes to hit a ball right where you want with a defense that knows what they're doing. Is golf hard because the ball is sitting still?

Any reason why you recommend starting with hands lower around the mid section as opposed to up high around the shoulders?
Seems to help with control. Personally
What can I do to stop myself from swing early
What do you do after you had a bad game
