The slow motion starting at 19:00 was a good touch DW. The slowed down audio mixed with the visual of two groups of athletic yet overweight men having a tussle and getting all wrapped up is pure comedy.

Maybe I've been away from the game too long, but back when I played shooting box wasn't a big deal. Nobody was trying to injure anyone by doing it. Maybe Andy is just a drama queen?
Lol these brawls are cracking me up. I’m sure these guys are all swell dudes but the fact that they’re mostly middle aged guys, in uniforms, playing slow pitch softball, and trying to fight each other every other game, is pure comedy.
Why though? These guys are at the elite level and lots of bad blood flowing and rivalries etc ..
Yeah these are actual slow pitch pros. That catcher makes a ton of money as well from sponsorships.

I play softball and its an extremely competive atmosphere. Plus there are a lot of long time rivalries. I was in a few scuffles recently. I found it really exciting and it was a nice change of pace. These guys in this film are very talented players i can assure you. And they are big guys.

They guy who wants to play for fun has to put up with the guy that thinks he was overlooked by mlb, or the guy that thinks mlb sends scouts to softball fields. Bottom line if you play softball, MLB doesn't want you, they never will.

Yep and most of the time, it’s when you’re covering the hole where the middleman isn’t. Most middle shots aren’t on purpose to be honest. Yeah there’s times when these guys “hate” each other (and that’s the 2 hours they’re competing against each other), but once the game is over, it’s over. No carryover

You’re pretty much correct. I asked Andy about it one time and he even said pretty much the same thing, it’s 2 hours or so and then it’s over and done with. Go up to Purcell or Andrew Collins and talk to them at a tournament sometime, they’re two of the nicest guys you could ever meet off the field as are most of the conference players.
Kansas - agreed - around here we have 6' -12' slo pitch and unlimited. MUCH less problems in the unlimited. Pitcher has time to backpaddle after the pitch to become a 5th infielder and remain safe. If you constantly throw meatballs, you're going to get hurt.
Ask Tommy Shin , Classic Glass legend , had his face split open , or “ Dirty “ from the A days when pitchers wore no mask in 2000, 05’ . Back when shaving and Blue Dots were literally grenades coming off a good hitter .

I played for a Baptist league and every game the benches cleared, we all met at the mound with our heads bowed in prayer to the one true God. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Dan Smith beat Resmondo to win a USSSA Last Chance tournament in Sterling Heights, MI back in 2010.
Now Liberty Park in Sterling Heights MI, where that tournament was held, is closed, and I suppose this season's tournaments are on hold until at least June because of the coronavirus.

I showed up early to a game, a coed team was looking for a guy to fill in, I had some time so thought what the heck. I get up to bat and hit a laser beam up 3rd base and it hits the girl on 3rd right in the chops. Busting her chin wide open. I didn't even run to first. I trotted out to 3rd base to see if she was alive. She was out cold. She came around and was ok, she had to go to the ER. Everyone on the other team was bitching at me. Until her father came to my defense and told them it was an accident and she knew the risk when she took the field. They all calmed down, I was called out for not running to 1st, then the team I was filling in for started to bitch that I should have ran to 1st. I just laughed and walked off the field at that point. Fucking idiots.

1st game.. they needed a break from not running around the bases at the home run derby ... game.
If you watched or played you would quickly understand that not running the bases on homers speeds the games up. Remember a 32 team double elimination tournament is 63 games and almost 1,000 home runs so you are saving a lot of time and field time is costly.

Pitching in men’s softball is about the deadliest job you can do. Some of them shots up the middle hit you before you even have time to at least protect yourself. A lot of pitchers these days are getting smarter and wearing masks.
