- My love for the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is no secret. The stress busting ride of the little 350 is outstanding. Such a joy to ride solo. But what’s it like 2-up? Just how bad can it be?

Good afternoon I’m the proud new owner of Paddington . Yesterday I rode my Royal enfield bullet 2016 model upto Hayward’s to look at a red and chrome 350 and possible ordering one. On speaking with the owner and delivery time of new bike , he pointed at Paddington saying that Enfield is famous , and proceeded to tell me the story and he is named Paddington. What a coincidence I have worked at Paddington Green police station for the last 20 odd years as the local beat officer. It was destined I went off the idea of the new red and chrome , I took Paddington out for a spin and fell in Love. I then sealed the deal on a px for my 500 bullet and rode Paddington home through the back roads back to Hertfordshire.
Paddington will be pampered ridden gently and treated like he deserves.
I intend riding him down at some point to Paddington Green and visit the Paddington bear statue , then also popping for a cup of tea with Mrs Bond the wife of the famous Micheal bond who invited the Paddington bear character as I am friends of the family and introducing her to Paddington the Royal Enfield .
I am very lucky to own this wonderful machine and will take care of her.
I intend leaving as she is the only change I may make is a lively exhaust system from Hitchcock , however I will leave that to your choice as if I should do this or just leave her as he is . With the permission of the TAYM I may create a UA-cam channel Paddington the Royal Enfield . Also Mr TAYM you’re welcome anytime to meet up and you can take Paddington for a spin my complete pleasure if you want to do this as I’m only half hour from Haywards.

I'm 6'3 and around 20 stone, my wife isn't small and my Classic 350 was excellent 2 up - I couldn't believe it, but had a massive grin while and after riding it - bike continues to amaze. For reference our normal 2-up bike is a Harley Road King (with seriously upgraded suspension) and the Classic is nearly as comfortable! The worst bit is adjusting the rear shocks - hard to get to and very small "notches" - other than that, totally fantastic!
Marvellous, I did look at adjusting them and thought, nah, can’t be bothered, it will be fine😊 and it was 😊

Same here. I’m 6’-4”, 230 lbs. wife is not tiny. We love riding the Royal Enfield Classic 350!!!
She says it’s the most comfy bike I’ve owned and yes, the shock is almost impossible to adjust.
I moved the shifter up one notch and moved the bars back 1/2”. Perfection!
Just tested my new Beeline Moto gps and it’s awesome!
This bike is more fun than anything I’ve owned since 1971!

@@samkiwi8428 congrats! you will love it - esp since you've not had a bike since 71. But even with that, it's not going to be too foreign to you as it's a very nice, simple bike to ride and own. I think that's why I enjoy it so much - I'm not pushing myself to ridiculous levels because the bike isn't a race-rep!
Pluses are ABS and fuel injection. 70's were great, and 70's bikes were fun, but no arguing these are better bikes than we had back then!

Don’t worry the 350 can carry much more weight comfortably than the mule. Maybe we should take our wives out every week on the bike and let them walk home.I’m sure they would slim down quickly 😂

Damm you TAYM, I was about to head out on the bike but just had to watch the vid before I went. Another cracking episode and who knew it would turn into a Picnic with Paddington. I kind of guessed that the bike would handle the extra bag of sugar💋on the back as it has tons of torque from that cracking engine. 👍👍👍

Excellentiforous! I can’t say I’m surprised. The Himalayan works really well with a pillion. These torquey little Enfield’s are great 👍🏼

A splendiferous two up review! I take it back, thinking that Paddington wouldn't get a look in after the Rocket 3. The magic of Royal Enfield is just Fantabulous 😊 Paddington must've been smiling and content, both to see you again and to have proved any doubters wrong 😄
A mate of mine tried to cadge a lift off me down the pub on Thursday, as I still have my two seats on, but I chickened out, not that I didn't think Reg could handle a six foot plus, at least 18 stone bloke on the back, but more that I have never carried a pillion of any size and I don't have pillion insurance. One day maybe 😁

Wonderful video, you do sound happy on him ....lots of free rides happy days...went out on Paddo yesterday straight into the worst traffic in weeks ( sydney marathon ) but thats when paddo said " dont worry Tom, let me take you right up between all these horrible statinonary cars to the beach.. we"ll be there in no time " and so I entered the dream world of floating effortlessly around cars and before I knew it we were at south Maroubra paked up in the designated motorcycle car park, beautifully relaxed and ready for a quick body surf. ...marvellous .

Bonjour, je suis l'heureux prioritaire d'une 350 classic RE depuis quelques mois ,avec une utilisation essentiellement en "trio" : ma femme , moi... et notre petit chien Peter Parker dans son puppy bag sur le réservoir : que du bonheur!!!☺
Mon épouse confirme : très bien assise à l'arrière , j'ai juste tourner les bagues des suspensions arrières de deux crans, ni plus ni moins.

You may not have altered the suspension but I did, it was on the softest setting and way too soft. I wound it up to 3 and so much better 2 up. I'd guess when you rode it it was still the same, on 3 (very same bike), you are right though, it could do with going up another notch. Hopefully trying it 2 up again soon and I'll see how it tackles the big hill (Long Rd) going down to Comberton. One complaint, it's tricky getting the "C" spanner on the adjuster because the mudguard support brackets are in the way, I had to be careful not to scratch the paintwork.

i really like these... and i also ride 2 up 90% of the time we go round country lanes at weekends.. occasional dual carriageway..weeny bit of motorway.. and i just dont think its going to be enough bhp.... if only the uk market version was 30 bhp i would have one already... still dithering

Hi TAYM,
the Bullet 500 was the same, you barely noticed that you had a pillion onboard.
I think you would notice it on the 350 going up a mountain though. Sometimes I have to drop down into fourth gear to get up a steep mountain and in places it is almost asking for third gear. With a pillion I think I would need third gear for a fair part of that climb. But how often does that happen and if it does, is it the end of the world ? I can probably still do up to 50 mph in third gear, so it's not as if I am crawling along even then. I'd agree that most of the time you barely notice a pillion but just be aware that from time to time you may notice, but not too often.
Cheers TAYM, an interesting test. I'd have to bribe somebody to ride pillion with me to make a similar one and I'm assuming Mrs TAYM did not require a bribe 😂

I've been wanting to get a bike for a year or so now after not riding for 30 years, I dont want a super bike, and then again I dont want a scooter, after watching your video's Mr Taym you've really helped me in deciding which bike I want. I drive a 26 ton dust cart all day and have a laugh with my mate doing so, but after work and driving my car home I end up being just one of the pillocks I take the slash out of all day as I get frustrated with the run of the mill motorists who havent a clue, theirfore I need a bike to stay sane whilst going home. Thanks a million it looks like the RE Classic 350 for me, cheers and all the best.

Regarding Mrs TAYM, it’s obvious that like me & Ms Wolf you married up. 😉
We rode the 02 ZZR 1200 from Crescent City Ca to Spokane Washington in one run, only stopping for gas, on our way to ride the Road to the Sun.
She informed me that that would never happen again. 😂
A few years ago we rode the 2017 Ultra Classic from Central Ca to Central Illinois and back doing around 600 miles a day and she loved it.
That pillion seat makes a huge difference and the ladies will take comfort over sporty looks if they’ve ever been on a long ride.

I wonder what he has in his sandwiches? Probably sardines , he doesn't look like a cheese and chutney man . I bet he has to eat them all before he goes home , or he gets into trouble . No 🍩 if you're a bad ex-policeman 🤣.
Paddington's pillion seat is probably extra comfy because it's a separate seat.💺
The cones you saw were in training, they still had their white jackets on , they can make comments 📢 and be right little clever dicks , but they don't have the depth of knowledge to be proper sorting cones ⚖️ yet.
Pigeon is a RE fan and potential owner , tried to put a deposit on Paddington again.
One day said TAYM , "would you like to ride pillion ?"
"Paddington's a bike you won't look silly on "
So off they rode ,
Down the Cambridgeshire Road ,
And the Cone declared Mrs TAYM "one in a million !"
But Mrs TAYM lives of nuts and seeds and only healthy food whilst I prefer a diet high in wine gums and Percy pigs. On the subject of pigs I thank the lord that pigeons got wings and curly tails went to the pigs, otherwise the deposit would be much bigger 😊 thanks again for another splendiferous comment 😊😂😂😂

Just running in my new 350 Classic, Ruby, done 110 miles so far. At what point do you think it would be safe for the engine to put Mrs Pete on the pillion?? She is around 9 stone, I'm about 11 stone. Not telling you her inside leg measurement !! 😂

My go pro went wrong during the “one ride”SD card error on display. I could not reformat the card to fix it mid ride. So I switched it off and on. Recording ok again. When I got home no sound on play back all footage no good so disappointing

@@mickeymousee I took about 25 clips today but have lost about five, will see what I can recover tomorrow. It’s just the way it is 😞 it was a bit busy to talk today.
@@TAYM oh no 🙈 not filming trouble for you as well. I have looked but no software update for my camera available. But I have set it back to factory. Formatted SD card after as well. You never know maybe fine now. Looking for new exhaust now as bike is not only over loud and now PINKING ie pre ignition too weak mixture and poss running hot.

Have you seen the Indian Army motorcycle acrobatics team. They use a Royal Enfield for their stunts and usually ride it 12 or 20 up 🙂

@@TAYM I hope to get one shortly.My wife has a concern though.She says she can’t see me being happy going from 157HP on my Daytona to 20HP on the mule.What she doesn’t realise is that it will take me at least an extra hour on my rides,great excuse for being late and come home chilled with chips😇
