After all they've been through, seeing them pull off such a performance with a crowd singing along to every word so passionately, brought tears to my eyes. This band is such a powerful unit.

Andrew taking the pre chorus down an octave hits different, this was definitely a night to remember with Kurt.

Anyone criticizing Andrew not hitting Tillian’s notes needs to check themselves. He naturally has a lower voice, you can’t expect him to be someone else. He brings his own thing to each song and I love every second. His voice is beautiful.

100% agree. Andrew is an amazing vocalist. It’s like these people don’t know about Eidola or something. They act like he’s a backup singer or some shit lol

I think Andrew is great, he has his own unique way of approaching Tilian's melody. Not anything has to be the exact same as recording, that would be a boring concert.

It was amazing. My favorite dgd show since the 10 year anni in 2015, and before that, Tilians first tour in 2012. Def a top 5 performance (ive seen them 14 times now). Playing a song or 2 from the entire discography + Andrews vocals + Kurt guesting made this such a fresh and different performance
I saw them two days ago and istg it was so much fun and so high energy, Andrew doesn’t have Tillian’s voice but his own take on the discography was incredible anyways 11/10 would go again
Your filming gives this so much energy! It's noticeable that you move along with the crowd, but at the same time you're constantly focusing on the band. It gives a lot of light to an already amazing and energetic performance.
Edit: the best example I can give of this is around 0:47, at that "pop off, I took the top off" part.

This show was insane the venue was way too small and the crowd was basically a shoving match

He's struggling to sing Tillian's parts the same way I struggle to sing anything during Karaoke. Switches to lower register for the high parts he can't hit.
Yeah, Andrew is a great singer but Tilian has such a high voice it has to be difficult to match. Not a lot of room for preparation on the band’s part either given the circumstances of the past couple months :/

On the upside, Wells has pretty much the entire crowd backing him on vocals. As long as he sings anything the momentum isn't lost.

Great performance and all, but is is just me or did they play it really sped up? Like, I know bands usually perform songs faster than on record, but close to the end it seems too fast, I had to even check if I wasn’t on 1.25x by accident lol

Andrew can't sing Tillians songs that for sure. He can do parts as a fill in. But anyone who thinks he can replace him is snorting paint thinner.

Their ranges are completely different. I like Andrew's voice (personally more than Tillian's) and want to hear him more and more on records but I agree he's not the right fit to replace Tillian long term.
@@brantbedore1399 Tilian is a hard vocalist to replace. I personally think he is the best fit for DGD because he's able to sing all of Jonny's and Kurt's song. I feel with time, Andrew could be a very good replacement, because I know all of us can't imagine Jonny or Kurt singing Tilian songs, but Andrew does them pretty well.
But all in all, I don't think Tilian is out of the band, just on a hiatus.

Andrew sounds great here but it shows that if they were to replace Tilian (I don't think they will) Andrew couldn't be the lead singer. Even with the songs downtuned he has a hard time hitting the medium to higher notes. Finding someone else would be so difficult. Tilian is really a unicorn.
They could just do what they’ve done multiple times now and adapt to a new style of vocalist
@@Contopaxi it’s more than that. like OP said, the new vocalist would have to hit that range this time around. They have 6 albums with Tilian now, can’t avoid all of those songs.

Can’t hear Andrew over the garbage, tone deaf, crowd members. I can’t stand hearing the crowd sing. I’m there to hear what the band sounds like live and enjoy their music.
Yes and enjoy their music by singing along. I understand that for the sake of the video that it can be annoying you can’t hear the live vocals over the audience but at the end of the day you just have to take it for what it is. Im sure there will be live videos out where the audience is less present in the audio
Andrew is an okay singer….. but not compared to Tilian’s vocals!!! I respect Andrew’s talent but he cannot perform the high notes.
Dance Gavin Dance is an amazing band but without Tilian they will fall under an okay band. Please bring Tilian back!!!
“Okay singer” lmao. Look up Eidola. Andrew is an incredible vocalist. He had to step up and replace tilian on short notice and that’s not easy. IMO he is doing a great job
He's not a high register singer, it's the same thing when tilian does JC songs it sounds different but it still sounds good and is in key
