    Good job guys. Useful, and smart video-with some humor. Loved that "Go-Time!". If I'm correct, perhaps note to your viewers not familiar with the bcx16, the dump tank is a combo gray/black. Enjoy your adventures, we'll be watching. Cheers.

    Great video.
    Tip: PLEASE criss cross those safety tow chains before hooking onto your vehicle. In the event that the tongue comes off the ball, the tongue will pitch forward and down onto the criss cross in the chains, helping to prevent the tongue from hitting the road and flipping the trailer forward onto your vehicle.

    Hi.😊 First time viewing your channel.Great video. 👍🏽😊 I have a 2dr wrangler and tow a BC16X... I keep it light (left out a lot of heavier add ons and options), but as a solo traveller I also have a Rhino storage tank to avoid having to break camp or move the BC around too much. This really makes a difference for me, although I do have to be much more considerate if I have close neighbours, same as having to use my generator...Have you ever given thought to using one? A storage tank I mean? I do clean out my tanks at dump stations as well. Also, I try to use disposable gloves when handling either...😱 saw a small slip up once and I haven't been the same since.😝😂🤣 Take care now.😁

    • @DavidWaldrip
      @DavidWaldrip  3 роки тому +1

      You make a lot of great points. I haven't ever had the need for an extra black tank storage. I just drive to the dump area.
      Good point about the gloves. My unit has never actually had "black water" in it so it was only grey water.
      I do wear gloves when needed. Thank you for your comment!

    These things remind me of an upscale horse trailer dont know why..lol... same design... just Chunk of luxury change.... , a lot people are buying them tho.... i have a trailblazer 02 LS wondering if that would pull ok... isnt a 4 wheel drive.

    • @DavidWaldrip
      @DavidWaldrip  3 роки тому +1

      Ha! I’ve heard from quite a few folks who indeed think it’s a fancy horse trailer.
      You are correct. Tons of folks are purchasing them!
      You don’t need 4 wheel drive to tow this trailer. It would be useful if you plan to pull it offroad or into Boondocking areas.
      As far as if you can tow with that vehicle you’ll have to look up the towing capacity. The trailer fully loaded weighs 3500lbs. You want a vehicle rated to tow a good bit more that.
      Hope this helps!

    This may be a silly question, but when you connect your hose to "flush" the sewer line and clean it after dumping, how do you know the water is going straight through the gray/black tank to clean the sewer line vs. going into the fresh water tank?

    • @DavidWaldrip
      @DavidWaldrip  3 роки тому +3

      That is a really good question Brooke. In regard to BLACK tank flushing Airstream travel trailers have a dedicated inlet that is clearly labeled for this purpose. You just screw the rinse hose to that port and you are assured water is rinsing out the black tank. Also you can or see or hear water running out of the drain hose into the sewer.
      The Basecamp has a combined tank grey/black so it flushes both but most trailers have separate grey/black tanks.
      I hope this helps!

      @@DavidWaldrip David, one more question for you because I've ready something about this elsewhere, but can't find a definitive answer. Hey David, just discovered you channel so I don't know how long you've had your BC but honestly, how happy are you with the bed cushions? I've been interested in the BC because of all the windows but those cushions you sleep on look very thin and uncomfortable. I'm tired of camping in tents, sleeping on cots and want to upgrade to an Rv. Are you really content or would you have rather bought the Bambi.

    • @DavidWaldrip
      @DavidWaldrip  3 роки тому +1

      George your question is a great one. I have slept on the BCX cushions for exactly 6 months. Personally I have been happy with them. They are not "luxurious" at all but I slept well on them.
      As to whether or not I would have rather have purchased a Bambi the answer for me is no. However I think most folks would prefer two things about the Bambi.
      1. You don't have to make the bed up each day.
      2. Kitchen seating area is also always setup.
      So unless you need to haul gear inside ( that's a big reason we got the BCX ) or unless you prefer the look and added off road capabilities I would suggest the caravel ; ) or the Bambi.
      Hope this helps!
