      More importantly, realising that the whole life is a meditation…. bringing the mind back to the present again and again until it becomes the “new normal”… until there is no need to come back because it is here and now naturally.

      I live in a climate with long winters that periodically go from quite cold to very very cold and windy! (And the window of the room I meditate in is old and leaks lots of cold air when the wind is from the west, which it often is. 😐)
      However I spent the first 27 years of my life in a warmer, more humid climate, and have never fully adapted to the climate I live in. I have to work at getting my circulation functioning well enough to keep me warm, outdoors and in!
      So it’s harder for me to meditate first thing in the mornings, as I did easily when it was warmer, particularly when I’m adjusting from the much warmer fall mornings to the much colder ones that are happening now.
      I may need to wait til sunrise, go for a walk outdoors that warms me up and THEN meditate! Might be much easier than struggling as I am to meditate immediately after waking.
      But the process of going for a walk is time and energy consuming in the cold!
      I’m beginning to think, as I write this, that the problem is my anxiety about the change in the season more so than the challenges of the season itself!

    I have been so overwhelmed these past few months...but i still don't give up, i keep on trying to still my mind...even though mind goes back to being overwhelmed, i don't stop trying and now, it's getting easier to be still... gratitude and stillness have helped me so much...

      @@cacampbell3654 it's not easy everyday or even on multiple occasions in a day...but when things aren't going good, the key is to take a deep breath , be aware that my mind is gradually moving towards negativity and gently bring it back by finding a different perspective for the situation...sometimes, it takes time to be aware, sometimes it happens almost immediately...it's a process and I don't think anyone gets perfect at it...just don't think that it's not working...it does ...slowly, it becomes easier to find your way back to yourself....

    Been meditating again for the past month and a half when I wake up. It has been amazing. I could set myself free from a narcisist relationship back in Dexember, I know that my brain was damaged somehow due to the stress and pstd but I know that I Can make mu brain great again.     i have chronic fatigue syndrone and meditate daily to help me heal and overcome my incessant need for doing, (which keeps me sick). he's right, meditating in the morning has been the absolute critical action to set me up for a day of stillness and healing ❤🌷

    It’s so hard but this is one of the only times of the day we give our Brain and body a break from chaos … even if we are not “doing anything “ we are still thinking and most likely overthinking which leads to stressing which leads to physical bodily reactions

    This year I decided to not look at my phone when I wake up, instead I just open the curtains and look at sky until I’m ready to get up, mornings feel nice & calm 👌🏽

    Nick always seems to know what we need at the time. School is starting back up for our kids and my mentality is, "how are we going to attack our mornings?"... so opposite of what he is saying. It would do my daughter's good, as well as myself, to take a moment and start the morning off with appreciation rather than with a "go go go" approach. I guess we have always tried for the "hurry up and wait" approach. I am so grateful for the gentle reminder that just a few minutes to calm from within and focus our intentions would go a whole lot further and help move through what we must do with a better attitude. This is especially important for our kids in the world they are living in now. So much gratitude for your wisdom and insight Nick.🙏😊👏

    I’ve been doing this every morning for a while now this practice has brought on positive change. I’m actually trying to do this with my six-year-old who has a severe case of monkey mind. The goal is to quiet that mind for maybe seven minutes. Hopefully he’ll be a little bit less monkey mine when he gets to school.
