Hola Nick! Beautiful message. All the teachings of the Masters always give me a relief in combination with nature. But I have a question regarding spiritual awakening. Is it normal when you are awaken to work so much? I work 6 days a week for the last months and I am feeling really tired.
“A fool who knows his foolishness is wise at least to that extent.” I may be imperfect, with many shortfallings and vices, but at least I"m aware of it, and working to move on from them, even if it is difficult and I fail often. That puts me ahead of everyone who isn't.
I always find Julian of Norwich's words "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well," bring me a sense of peace and calm, no matter what is happening.
What I have learnt:, not to hold on to anything...let it go, be patient...you have everything you need, self acceptance self love, give yourself time to grow to trust your intuition...PATIENCE...may the universe or Source inspire you...ALL THE VERY BEST....You won't loose anything you will gain knowledge emotional maturity...whatever it is let it go...if you do loose it, it was not meant for you...but it may return at another time...
What I have noticed over and over in my life is that my heart never guides me wrong. When I go inward and listen to what my pure heart is saying, it's always led me right, to decisions I didn't later regret. But when I have made decisions from my rationale mind while ignoring my intuition, I've always regretted my decisions later.😅😂 Since you mentioned it as part of timeless wisdom we can draw on, I would be very interested in a future video that describes the criteria of a true friend vs the criteria of a false friend or foe. I am curious to know more about that and wonder if others also found that intriguing. Thank you, Venerable Nick, for all your generous videos. They are so practical and useful and keep me grounded and anchored every week!
Thank you for sharing. I can definitely relate to your points of following your intuition. It’s so interesting how strong it is. I agree. And yes I definitely need to make a video about good friends and not so good friends. Thank you for the suggestion. That’s a great topic :)
I have few worldly cares and few worldly possessions. As Chan Master Sheng yen put it, "The more that you carry, the heavier it is." I have just what I need to live and sustain myself and that's it, and as each day passes, the more I see the benefit in living in such away.
Thanks Nick. You make these hard times easier to manage. Inner self guidance is a work in progress everyday for me. I might not know everything but I am a student of living in one in peace and happiness.
Social media can be good and bad. It's good because it brings wisdom from people like yourself. It's also bad since it's also a source of disinformation and twisting of history and facts in order to fit into a particular box. Like what you said about "quotes" being displayed as if they were from The Buddha eventhough they are not. I've started learning more and more about Zen Buddhism and love many of the teachings. There are some lessons which are difficult but that's the beauty of it. That's what helps me question and challenge myself in order to grow. Some of the videos about Buddhism online seem to be twisted in order to help people gain wealth or to incorporate law of attraction in a disingenuous way. I'm not looking to draw or attract anything but to cultivate the love and peace I have within myself.
Greetings Venerable Nick! I've noticed one thing in common with so many spiritual learning modalities is that they ask that you separate the ego from the spirit. I've been practicing it for over a decade now and still the world's ego consumes me. It's almost like getting your car alignment. As soon as you leave the mechanic shop, can you go over a bump your alignment is out again! I wish I could stay in spirit.
All we need to do , to find the answers we all seek individually, is to go within. Start an internal dialogue, a conversation with yourself about what is concerning or upsetting you. The answers really do lay within. God bless every one of us.
I often have to come back to a saying I read once, not sure who it is attributed to: The problem cannot be solved with the same mindset that created it.
As a recovering addict, I used to solve my problems with drugs. But of course, instead of disappearing they become bigger problems. With Buddhist wisdom, I have learnt to see if I can solve it & is it within my control. If it isn’t, then just accept it as external conditions that will work out when the conditions or time ripens. There are so many ideas that I can gather from Buddha & other Buddhist writers. I also like the idea that there are wisdom too from other traditions / religions. Thank you for the reminder. 🙏🏼
Thank you again ! Nick, you are a gem . Awareness of dualistic reality, anything that separates one from all perception , labels, comparison, identity , the egos fast lane to suffering! Rising above my tiny self, the obstacle is the way!
What helps me is that everything I meet in daily life is my perception. If a situation Hurts me, I will make time to look at it, feel it, look at past memories coming up, let emotions flower, and softly breathe through it until the underlaying wisdom showes. This always ends up in feeling how everything is connected & how friendly the world is. Everything becomes a healing journey.... (But i need some good effort to get there 😂❤ if i touch on my old patterns of feeling unworthy, it can feel so bloody hard 😂❤❤). Take Care everyone & thanks for all the sharing....🌱💫
Thank you and it’s nice to meet you too. It’s funny about old patterns, just when I felt I had a handle on them, a huge incident where I don’t handle them well at all pops up.
Hi, the longer I live the more I realize that, that we are basically the same. Up until recently when I would visit a loved one at a grave yard or drive by a grave yard, I often wondered what hopes, dreams or struggles these people had. I used to think they were vastly different from mine, but they’re not.
When i have darkness thoughts around me and think give up i put u playlist .calm my spirit..i m follow u since the golden days in USA and unfortunatelly im in brasil nightmare niw i hate my country unhappy decision back here .but u make my days + while im still in my miserable miserable hopeless country
Namaste Ven. Nick from the UK. As always, your calm, insightful words bring further peace and clarity. For me, the practicing non-attachment has been both liberating and soothing...leaving room in my mind for purer, healthier decisions. Stay safe 🙏
Greetings from Massachusetts… thank you for sharing this video with us.. I have to say that I have tried to stay on the right path to enlightenment. I’m a 50 year meditator and your teachings help guide me in my journey to be consistent. As I get older I realize that I need less, and cherish more… be happy with yourself and share the experience with others… thank you for your continued dedication . 🙏😊🌷🪷
So true. The lense through which we look can give a different perspective to our suffering. It can condense the problem into a compact issue and make it clearer and easier to work out. And most times we can see how our minds amped up the issue and made it more of a beast than it really was. This allows us to work through the suffering . I am still learning but what an exciting journey it is. Thank you Venerable Nick.
Master Nick, can you give us a brief tour of the monastery, if it is allowed? If not, then maybe a look at Thailand, and where you like to meditate? Thank you!
Nick you always speak from the perspective of the heart and that I really like. I really like that you care about others and your videos have always something good to say. We can't live well without wisdom. I journal a lot and have derived a lot of wisdom from myself. I can also accept that many others through time have solved problems thanks to it.
Once again thank you Nick for not having background music with my severe ADD I am learning so much more I’m sure there’s others like me out there. On top of that being almost 65 years old it’s hard for my brain to separate the sounds like most old people. 🙏🏻
