One of my favorite uses for intrigue: marry your daughter off matrilineally to the 3rd or 4th son of a foreign ruler (they almost never accept matrilineal marriages for their heir or the 2nd in line), then just murder the older sons. Boom, your dynasty has a new independent title. It's one of the easiest ways to stack up renown.
I had done this in a playthrough. The daughter had a grandson eventually who was stacked on intrigue points. He went on the homicidal warpath to get my kingdom Title, killed the entire family off, never married himself (as AI) and then got cancer and died on me once I took control. Was pretty wild, god I love this game.

you can also kidnap rich people, like archbishops, and recruit them to your court, you then imprison them again by either abduction or having a hook on them. When you banish them you get all their cash. I've gotten tens of thousands of gold from it.
My first ever playthrough I wanted to do learning and make a technologically advanced empire with lots of universities and highly developed provinces. But the way they did culture development this time around, that doesn't really work that well. The SECOND game I played in Bohemia and was a learning and intrigue focused character. Intrigue to get my bloodline in charge of a bunch of powerful countries, learning because you're in charge of the Czech culture and can progress like crazy. Really fun playthrough, I was king of a small couple of duchies but had kids that ruled half the world, and yet Prague became the center of learning for all humanity.
Tip: Tribal vassals are way cheaper to bribe for plots, and a tribal king gives just as much renown as a feudal one, and will be just as strong until 950 or so.
I've discovered recently that the Seducer tree does have ONE good use, and that is if you're a Norse-descended dynasty with the Gift-Givers dynasty legacy and pick up the Practiced Pirates tradition. Practiced Pirates lets you raid, but your plunder costs prestige - and Gift-Givers gives you prestige for every seduction scheme you succeed. So just keep seduction schemes running and you can keep looting forever!
Its a waist of time in my oppinion. As a norse ruler, going down the raider tree, you get metric tons of prestige by winning battles. I often ended up with so much of it that, theres no use for it what so ever! Besides, practiced pirates have been nerfed now... i think. If you happen to be holding higher position than duke, you cant raid! Anyway, playing norse is the easyest thing in a game these days, ive gotten so used to it that it feels rather terrible to play when you are not culturally norse (and tribal). From the get go, you invest in varangian vet's and just smash everyone around you to dirt fairly quickly. At end game, these troops can reach up to 250 damage and some 150 toughness (depends what counties you hold) and they are numerous. Late game empire level you can have easily 10k of them with just couple of divisions and they literally stomp everything to dirt, often taking 0 casulties from the battle! In my latest game i combined norse with creek and got the byzantine traditions. Man its fun to castrate your prisoners lol! Always at full dread, everybody accepts what ever you ask of them and eunuchs cant inherit titles. If you capture some powerful people and/or their heirs, you will send the kingdoms/empires down the drain real fast!
Seductions works if you want to create more heirs for confederate partition in rival realms or if you are in a realm that doesn’t care about adultery but theirs does it creates easy criminals
Good point! and yeah going down the seduction can be a great for certain things, like thing that great about intrigue is you can focus on different aspects of it each life
Seduction is op with female characters, dont marry , seduce an Emperor or King, have his bastard child that is going to be of your dynasty, legitimaze it, then kill his other children until just yours is the sole heir. I did this with a greek woman and my children ended up being Emperors of Byzantium and the Abassid Caliphate
If you are married and reveal your bastard to be the emperor’s, your child will still be considered your husbands. He will only get the disputed heritage trait instead of becoming the emperor’s child.
I discovered exactly this recently myself, and my advice is to be a duke and get quite a few military building, as you definetly need a big military if you want to keep the dynasty head status.. I learned that the jard way once I managed to get someone from my dynasty to take over the byzantine emipire only to take away my dynasty head position, making me unable to disinherit my many many children. Also, you want to stay dynasty head in case two rulers of your dynasty are at war, so you can tell them to stop fighting, keeping the position of both rulers and not reducing your renown/month
randomly decided to get one of my kids into intrigue, just ebcause i had a lot of them and was like i want one child for every lifestyle. fast forward a few years, im playing that child and since then most of my characters were only full intrigue XD its just so nice, you can literally stab or kidnap everyone. like, suddenly you dont even feel the need to be an emporer anymore, you just want to sit as a duke or count with your safe space and have a fun time
The seduction part is useful as well if you can't marry into a family despite hooks. You just make a bastard with someone's wife, kill off all the other kids and then reveal the secret that this kid was yours all along. Remember to legitimize the bastard if need be (depending on the religion).
Yeah but how do you legitimize the kid without there being Rebellion? The Kingdom wouldn't want for a bastard to take the Throne, if the father is also alive. If he dies and your bastard is in charge, then you reveal he's yours, doesn't that lead to conflict, or does the game not deal with that?
I sometimes just have fun finding all the secrets in an enemy empire and exposing all of them, then I just sit back and watch it collapse due to infighting.
One thing I liked doing was with smaller neighboring territories is I would get a hook on the ruler, educate their heir and convert their culture and religion to mine and then kill the ruler so it's easier to vassalize the heir since they're your culture and religion

This lets me play tall early on, marring off my kids to the surrounding nations, keeping the best heir for myself. As a side effect i have a high dynasty prestige level. Making traits a passive thing to obtain. *side note, if you want a gamble, have one of your kids marry other kingdom's court members. It makes for interesting surprises in mid and later games as most other players will not notice that an NPC nation's wet nurse or knight is one of your own, and with a natural hook from being part of your bloodline. 16-year-old female, Intrigue Level 3, Wrathful Arbitrary & Sadistic, Seduction & Beautiful, then take the seduction focus in intrigue, you will have a base 70 for both Dread and Attraction. Single most overpowered playthrough I've ever had I started as a count in France and married the King 6 years later (It was a matrilineal one to since I used a hook to bypass). 8 years after that I was the Queen of Aquitaine under the Emperor of France aka my husband...
Gonna try this out. Hits over the 400 mark tho did yours? Might tweak it for balance or not.
Kanyes favorite people play through.
Whats the music used in the intro?

Should change the description 'How to Deep State CK3'
What outfit is he wearing? The intrigue hood and all?
ethnicities & portraits expanded mod, "Western Spymaster" clothes
whats up docter davies
5:47 you say abduct a rival's spymaster before starting a war with the rival - yet the screen shows the marshall being abducted? EDIT: I get it now.
1) create hook on the spymaster of a ruler
2) start abduct scheme on the ruler (and force the spymaster as an agent with your hook)
3) declare war right before abduct scheme ends
4) BOOM easy land grab
how do you get the hooded outfit??
I had no idea Mongals were Muslims at one point in history, or that Russian were Orthadox Christians.
why did you use the sodomite icon for kidnapping LMAO 06:09
When i go and try to marry my daughter to one of the Heirs, it says I don't have a available hook on the son, any ideas?
Anybody know how to get that outfit for your character?

Thanks for the video, would have went albino at the start though, extra dread for a bit of hate not to mention that bad ass look! It not like your popular anyway :)
So i gave this a try and i found that starting out as a steward play style and if one of mu kids has a high enough intrigue and learning stat, ill use them as a shadow ruler.
You dont need to waste a fabricate hook option.* at the time of this i am at 1005 with 4 player map. Ill let you all know if this plays well or not.😅
This guide sounds exactly like game of thrones lol

Bruh just lower your age to 16 to count as a adult it lowers like 140 points
I once had a spymaster that kept killing random member of my dynasty. I couldn’t figure out who it was until the third murder when I tortured him. So watch out for your spymaster if their intrigue is in the 30’s
All my homies hates the Karlings
I have been murdering and kidnapping wrong.
