Thanks a bunch, man! Went from being highly confused about how to go about learning this to playing it at full speed just a few days later. Really like the style of the tutorial.
Great tutorial man! WAY better than what the other tabs out there are saying! I’m so glad I was still able to end up finding your tab for this song in your Dropbox (found the link from a cached version of your website, which is currently suspended). I’m not sure how you don’t have more subscribers, because your work is excellent!
I love Paisley, I'm trying to learn some of his techniques, can you upload the intro to Me and Jesus or Old Alabama? You nailed Crushing it, so I'd be interested to hear how well you play those two 👍😎
+Dennis Leyva Cheers Dennis, yeah sounds pretty great for one of the lower end specs! Just upgraded the pickup and bought a nice pre-amp for live stuff so sounds even better now :)
Thanks Cameron. If you look in my other videos there's a lesson in the solo, and in the free tab there's a few extra licks in there as well I think. Strings wise... Always elixir nanowebs for acoustic, usually 11s :-)
Julie Fagan thanks Julie! It is still on my website under the video lessons tab. Here's the direct link to download the tab. www.dropbox.com/s/bcpeovigva0d3jq/Crushin%27%20It%20TAB.pdf?dl=0
Ashley Wagstaffe Hi Ashley, no worries. Natural harmonics occur all over the neck but are most prominent at 5th, 7th and 12th frets. To 'catch' a natural harmonic hover one of your left hand fingers directly over the fret (the metal) and lightly touch the string only - do not push the string down so it meets the fretboard. Once you've picked the string and 'caught' the harmonic you can remove your left hand so you don't stifle it and it'll continue to ring out. Hope that helps!
That is so fascinating! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!! This helps a lot! You're a fantastic guitarist and teacher and I can't wait to learn more from your videos.
Hi Jackie! Try to keep your left hand flat when slapping the frets. I often mute the thinner strings with my first finger - lightly barring across the G, B and E strings, and use my 2nd or 3rd finger(s) to slap the thicker strings to get the most percussive sound. Careful not to release this too quickly or else some strings can ring out. Also be careful if you're slapping over prominent areas for natural harmonics (5th/ 7th fret), as it can be more difficult to control unwanted ringing. It does take a bit of getting used to. Just spend some time experimenting with getting the percussive sound you want on its own before adding in the melodies as well. Hope that helps. Good luck!
+Cibolo Bound Haha! Yeah you caught me as I was on my phone! They're 11s too for acoustic. 10s for my electrics. Again, the nanowebs are great on electrics too :-) Highly recommend them!
It is tricky, make sure you have downloaded the tab (link in video description). Bar one starts on beat "2 and", with the main downbeat falling on the low drop D note of the second bar. Hope that helps! I do offer 1 2 1 Skype lessons if that's of interest to you :-)
Absolutely perfect transcription of the original! Thank you so much for this lesson!
No worries! Glad you enjoyed the lesson
Never thought id be able to play this. Thanks alot for the tutorial.

Hey! Great video! Could you explain how to do the harmonics?

Love the shirt. Haha
What strings do u use?
Just don`t know why mine 114ce doesn`t sound that good. Probly need to set it professionally
I use elixir nanowebs (11s on it at the moment I think). Yeah if you're action is either really high or really low it could make a big difference!
Any tips for trying to not make the strings ring when slapping the fret board with the left hand? thanks!

GuitaristBaz thanks!

Yeah thanks Reese! I saw that when I got back from holiday. Very cool of him! :-)
Hi, is there an updated place to get the tabs? I cannot access your website…
Hi Bernhard, you can download it from this Dropbox link: www.dropbox.com/s/bcpeovigva0d3jq/Crushin%27%20It%20TAB.pdf?dl=0
What strings do you use? I love their tone
Thanks! They're elixir nanowebs. They last forever too!
+GuitaristBaz Wow that was really fast thanks! Last question What gauge because I use 11?
+Cibolo Bound Haha! Yeah you caught me as I was on my phone! They're 11s too for acoustic. 10s for my electrics. Again, the nanowebs are great on electrics too :-) Highly recommend them!
+GuitaristBaz Thank you so much
+Cibolo Bound Anytime!

Great stuff. Thanks. Enjoy!
You should do kick the dust up by Luke Bryan
What model Taylor are you playing?
It's one of the lower end ones, the 114CE

still not getting the proper rhythm of the opening bar....its tougher than I thought
It is tricky, make sure you have downloaded the tab (link in video description). Bar one starts on beat "2 and", with the main downbeat falling on the low drop D note of the second bar. Hope that helps! I do offer 1 2 1 Skype lessons if that's of interest to you :-)
Gotta say great video but I was not expecting the accent on a country song.
Cheers! I hadn't even thought about it. Will put on my best twang for the next country video :)
where can i find the tab? the website doesn't seem to be available anymore.
Hi Holly, you can download it free here: www.dropbox.com/s/bcpeovigva0d3jq/Crushin%27%20It%20TAB.pdf?dl=0
