Some unwarranted advice for how to run Asterion if you keep him a rogue. You can hold shift to see enemy sightlines. If you are out of sight, you can hide as a bonus action which will give advantage to attacks You can sneak attack if you have advantage or an ally is next to the person you’re trying to sneak attack
My main issue is drama between players. And if there's buttons or levers it's hard to resist not interacting with them. Pull The Lever! Wrong LEVERRRRR!
unfortunately I just find there are too many great greatswords, so I immediately swap it out for the Silver Sword you can get, that weapon is insanely good on Lae'zel
Dark urge is not 100% evil. Fighting your urge is a viable playthrough and its one of my fave play. Plus it gives you a good scene at this specific point as you keep on resisting your urge. In my experience i think its much better to play a good durge on your very first playthrough.
I'm glad to see Kruz play more BG3 - this is such an amazing game, I can't get enough of it lol. Also, as much as I wanna see her continue their group playthough, I'm glad she decided to play solo/ duos so she'll be able to experience more of the game w/ the companions. They each have such a great story & character development imo.
A tip for bartering. You can actually barter in your favor. Just click barter three times. He will decline the trade for the first two and then will accept the third but it will lower his approval towards you.
20 mins in and gotta say, thank you for the explanation and insight you gave. i couldnt follow the multiplayer series because i was too confused, i'd definitely watch the whole series if i got context
Glad to hear it was helpful! Felt crucial since it can be confusing since the last series stopped kinda weird/abruptly and shit and especially for new people cause like talkin to chat and shit y'know
I created a Drow Druid and the dialouge options are so much fun. 3rd character in and still haven't finished the game lmao cant wait to binge this series!
I like to eat Campbell SpaghettiOs with side of milk just for drinking they go great together and I grew up doing that at my grandma's and grandpa's house and same with oatmeal. :)
Seriously looking forward to watching this on the weekend. So glad to see that you're FINALLY back on BG3. Although I'm glad to see you playing your solo campaign now, I'm still looking forward to the Party Play with Cheesey, Tay, and Narrator.
1:04:23 1:05:10 I love Beast Speech/ Speak With Animals, but Devil's Sight is also great, especially bcos it means you can cast Darkness w/out being Blinded. Darkness can be used to: - put enemies at a disadvantage (it prevents ranged attacks into or out of that zone) - grant you advantage when attacking from the shadows - obscure an area you want to steal from - remove/ block Cloud Kill, etc. You're also supposed to be able to attach Darkness to yourself/ an object so you can move it around, but for some reason that's not in the game atm (hopefully they plan to add it in the future).
2:32:55 2:33:43 You can throw water bottles (or use Create Water) to remove acid. You can also dip weapons in acid, poison, toxins, water or fire (including candles) to gain that effect.
Ok I just found this channel and I love the baulder's gate content, especially the reaction to the evil tattoo 13:01 that was great because it did look like evil was seeping out of your charchter and it fit well with the opening because of the mindflyer. Not to familiar with dnd yet but I hope to learn a thing or two while watching the playthrough best of luck and enjoy your playthrough 😊
For all the laezel hate, she's mt fave love interest. Hope you do a good playthrough with her and her character development and romance path is amazing and lovely hahaha
With astarion best thing to do is use his hide ability so he can use his special sneak attacks that do bonus damage. My first run of bg3 I was warlock and had dat boi in my team. His extra bonus actions are very clutch to add a dash in every turn or “hide” again to set up for next turn and not get targeted
Got a new subscriber here! Love the content! Also I AUDIBLY GASPED when you added the black highlights to her hair that is so SO cool. I'm going to have to make a new character and do that.
aww man, Lae'zel is my favorite character in the game. She just tells like like it is, doesn't even hold anything back. And her character development over the game is just SO GOOD! Also, give her a Silver Sword you can get in Act 1 and she's immediately the most powerful character. 3d6+3 weapon and gives you advantage on Int, Wis and Cha saves, Plus a new skill to add MORE damage and possibly stun. That's INSANE!
1:04:52 You can also use Goodberries as camp supplies - once you're high enuff level/ have enuff spell slots, you can acc create enuff Goodberries to full rest using entirely Goodberries *and* have some left over, basically giving you infinite long rests.
1:59:48 If you convince Rolan to stay it unlocks a trader in Act 2. There's one particular item they sell that's great for Astarian, i.e. the Cloak of Cunning Brume - grants the user a smokescreen cloud effect when trying to Disengage.
The addiction is real. I’ve completed three playthrus and have 500 hrs gameplay time. Started Pathfinder Kingmaker but honestly wanna start another BG evil playthru.
Ive watched this playthrough and tryed to watch others play this game and i can honestly say you are the only one who's playthrough is worth watching, keep doing what you're doing (grate commentary, grate game play and very funny) would watch again.
So true about schedule conflicts. That's why I ordered BG3 a month ago - I just wish I knew when it will be sent - lol. I'm so looking forward to actually playing through with characters I've already made on DnD Beyond, to fit them into this game. I have never been able to actually play at a table more than a couple of times - groups are too far away.
i know this is an old stream but i like the info im getting im thinking of playing it. commentary is on point. thanks for putting this out for us to watch.
Tip if you take them - use withers from the investigate the ruins quest to respecc shadowheart the cleric out of her subclass. Her starting subclass Trickery domain is terrible and you’d have a better experience with her as a life, light, war, or tempest cleric.
1:33:40 I'm glad chat convinced them not to kill Lae'zel. I understand that different people have different ways of playing, but ngl, I find it kinda disappointing/ frustrating when people would rather kill off a companion that annoys them rather than actually explore their story & see how they improve, especially on a first time playthrough & when they know how good the writing in this game is. Plus, I don't acc think of that companions are even *that* annoying to begin with tbh.
48:2849:36 Shadowheart can cast Command on Commander Zhalk & get him to drop his sword so you don't have to kill him. Command seems like a pretty useful spell in general tbh - you can force enemies to flee, move closer, freeze, drop to the ground, or drop their weapon. One thing Kruz might enjoy later on is that you can create a dangerous area using Alchemist's Fire, Spike Growth, Glyph of Warding, Hunger of Hadar, etc, & then use Command: Approach to force enemies to step into it.
As a fan of the boys, and someone who just got into watching your content the fact you and narrator are friends is so just heartwarming to me. I had to pause and do a little fangirl moment hearing his voice 😂❤️
Me watching ur group playthrough made me wanna play n i ended up playing on my ps5, its a bit tricky with the controller but SO fun im partway thru act 3 and like 60+ hours in lmao
First time watching a random play through cause I was curious and Narrator popped out of no where 😂 I was so confused LOL I watch him all the time with the boys Love the video and the vibes 🙌✨
The game is more then addictive. This is my new Skyrim. I have been playing it endlessly, and with mods to get more subclasses from builds I like in D&D 5e. Only thing I wish they would change in BG3 is picking your Paladin Oath at level 3 instead of level 1 =/... Really dislike that. I usually dip into 2 level of Paladin to get divine smites, and not the oaths.
I was looking forward to seeing the complete early parts cause I onyl caught a bit of the stream and its great, while playing with friends is always fun this game really should be played solo or with one other individual and even then you all have to be aware to let the other know when you are talking to npcs and what not.
yeah there's so much that I've gotten to see that I wasn't able to previously. I think if I were to recommend the game to people and their friends that I'd definitely recommend doing it either solo or just with one other for their first time/playthough.
Hey, can you do a video on doing a dragon barn? And which one would be good starting out at first level? OKOK, I'm not, I'm looking at getting the one that costs like 80 bucks. And don't know what the difference between the 2 okay.
Fun and useful fact, you don't have to kill him. Just see to it that shadowheart has the spell command prepared before combat and she can command him to drop the sword. Then just snatch it up and gtfo xD.
It's not as difficult as it seems at first. The cool thing about D&D is most of its mechanics became the foundation for the modern VGs we play now. So, odds are that when you start playing it, you'll pick it up a lot faster than you think you will. I think the hardest part for most people to pick up is the throw back to thinking in "turns". All games are based on this mathematically but we don't think/experience them that way and it throws people. But in any game your character, say Kratos or Geralt, can only run so fast compared to the enemies and can only preform an action so fast. It just messes with people to think of it in the old school "turns" Tabletop style. Once you wrap your head around that, it's really nothing new... and is quite seriously all the same *old* stuff. Hit/health points, mana (represented by spell slots instead of a number or bar), stamina (represented by action and bonus points instead of a number or bar), loot, gear, weapons with buffs, potions that give buffs or debuffs, etc. Because D&D and other tabletop games are the foundation or core of most video game RPGs, there really isn't anything most gamers haven't experienced before in those other games. It just looks different because it is in its original format.
I don't understand why everyone stays away from playing dark urge. I'm so glad I picked it for my 1st playthrough... As far as I've played, you can play it the same as if you weren't a dark urge, you just have more evil options. I intended to resist the dark urge, and so far have done so a lot. However it's great when you have the option to say "You know what, I don't like this guy...",
The best way I have found to get the flaming sword is to have Shadowheart prepare Command and try to get the devil to drop it, then have another PC pick it up on their turn. Then dash for the transponder.
You're doing a lolth drow warlock? Thats exactly what i did for my first playthrough. Since my second playthrough i have only played tiefling for some reason
On my first play through now and I’m running a pact of the blade warlock, might take a multi class with fighter but so far it’s been way too fun! Karlach and Astarion haven’t left my party since they joined
Maybe it's just me, but i'm obsessed with how dorky Gale is. Makes me giggle like a schoolgirl every time. It could be that i'm currently married to a dork like Gale, but I just love that wizard so much. I am always romancing Gale over Astarion, though I love the vampire.
Just started watching your solo playthrough after finishing my first playthrough and omg your guardian is exactly what my character looked like xD Same hair, beard, face, etc lmfaoooo
I started with like 4 multiplayer campaigns with different groups and the schedules immediately fell apart. It be like that. This game is fantastic though. It feels a lot like 5th Edition.
There's a few new Difficulty options :} Custom mode 1 save/ Hide npc health it should be in all versions of game like any dnd game all shouldn't have free insane knowledge, It's a Must have cant play with out. Do you plan on replaying after some time so not using replay knowledge so might not remember all :}?
I'm new to the game. Bought it the other day and play co-op with the wife. We wiped and now I'm checking out a playthrough to see how someone else tackled our first real challenge.
Excited for a solo play through sorry I missed the live---------SPOILERS!-----she missed the two chest in the first room and if you use command on the big boss demon he drop his sword making way easier to kill him! Plus the swords awesome dude BG3 is great!
Lovin this idea for a playthrough. you really get to experience it all but you're still already familiar. Loved the multiplayer playthrough but its nice to see you really get immersed here. HaAAve FuuUUuun :P
My first time seeing Baldur`s Gate gameplay. I like to play a lot of video games especially fantasy themed (Mostly The Elder Scrolls Games tho) but my PC isn`t that good, one day it just couldn`t run games anymore no matter what I tried so I decided to start watching gaming videos instead. I took this opportunity to see some games I haven`t tried yet myself and I`ve heard about Baldur`s Gate from friends so I ended up here.
Yes he plays for most of it! However, the last ~10hrs of the playthrough, he is not there for cause he had to go on another month long trip (as you'll see explained in the playthrough later on) that I got notified right before he was leaving for and I couldn't (unfortunately) keep extending the playthrough that long
Some unwarranted advice for how to run Asterion if you keep him a rogue.
You can hold shift to see enemy sightlines.
If you are out of sight, you can hide as a bonus action which will give advantage to attacks
You can sneak attack if you have advantage or an ally is next to the person you’re trying to sneak attack
@willowwacks4484 oh thank you I kept wasting a bonus action by sneaking and accidentally being seen you're a saint 🙏
typical D&D major problem is schedule conflict
truer words have never been spoken
My main issue is drama between players. And if there's buttons or levers it's hard to resist not interacting with them. Pull The Lever! Wrong LEVERRRRR!
That "scrumptious" misspeak when reading the Archfey description gives me the funniest mental image of a warlock with a Keebler elf patron.
This kinda game is kind of a nightmare to do a co-op playthrough as a first playthrough.
it's fun but way too chaotic. no chance to appreciate the story or get a proper connection with your teammates
Yeah in hindsight it's fun, but really hard for a first playthrough. Live and learn thing!
I’ve just been getting my friends to jump into my game. If you join mid game you can make your own character
your characters facial features make it look like you could do a cosplay as your character and it would be insanely close
@@TrulyLucky agreed
Getting that sword from the dude on the Nautiloid is such a big help for barbarians/fighters. I used it until act 3
unfortunately I just find there are too many great greatswords, so I immediately swap it out for the Silver Sword you can get, that weapon is insanely good on Lae'zel
Bro that one guy in chat while everyone is saying its there first mofos like “im gay” while you see a lot of “me”s and “yeps”. Had me dead
You kept getting close to people and stabbing them and I kept yelling at my screen "ELDRITCH BLAST USE ELDRITCH BLAST GODDAMNIT, ELDRITCH BLAAAAAAST!"
Dark urge is not 100% evil. Fighting your urge is a viable playthrough and its one of my fave play. Plus it gives you a good scene at this specific point as you keep on resisting your urge. In my experience i think its much better to play a good durge on your very first playthrough.
Yeah I'm excited to try it in the future! I will say I'm glad I didn't do a durge on my first full run, so glad chat kinda gave me their opinions
Fighting your urge can actually be one of the most heroic stories.
Shadowheart was a staple through my whole playthrough.
Life cleric carries so hard
Shadowheart life cleric was always in my runs, even honor xD
Im playing as a cleric/paladin for my tactician playthrough but still can't get rid of good ol' shart

HA! I recently started a 2nd play through as a Durge and he is a drow Druid too, loving it.
Excited for this solo playthrough! There's always more to see in this game so it'll still be fresh!
EDIT: Huh? Popcorn and milk?
POPCORN AND MILK SLAPS I SWEAR YOU GOTTA TRY IT
Can confirm, popcorn and milk are an amazing combo.
Wait like milk and popcorn separately or like all together in one bowl? Because for some reason my mind went to them before being in the same bowl??😅

Lovin this idea for a playthrough. you really get to experience it all but you're still already familiar. Loved the multiplayer playthrough but its nice to see you really get immersed here. HaAAve FuuUUuun :P

Im sure you already know but there are a lot of items that you can get that dont pop up on the alt hold. Some things are just sneaky

Omg I thought I was the only person in the world who likes to drink milk if I have popcorn 🤣 lol
I am SO ready for some BG3 VODs again!
just a question for people who have watched the whole playthrough is narrator in the whole playthrough
Yes he plays for most of it! However, the last ~10hrs of the playthrough, he is not there for cause he had to go on another month long trip (as you'll see explained in the playthrough later on) that I got notified right before he was leaving for and I couldn't (unfortunately) keep extending the playthrough that long
Yay! You’re back!
