Gotta say it really refreshing seeing someone come into this great game with a “blank slate” and seeing them explore the early parts of. Also the fact that you know you’re way around spells and DnD combat makes it very enjoyable for someone with a bit of a min-maxer streak 😅 Looking forward to the next parts of this series
Nothing better than watching other DnD nerds enjoy this masterpiece of a game! I'm looking forward to your playthrough, Ashbee! The editing is hilarious as well, I love it! Character creation is the one of the best parts, though! I wish you'd kept a bit more of it tbh😅 Also, a piece of advice if you're interested: it's worth taking long rests relatively frequently in the game - there are many camp scenes with companions that can be missed otherwise, and there aren't any drawbacks to resting (other than needing supplies). Also, companions often have some comments about new areas or important quest developments, so it's good to check in with them from time to time both in camp and while adventuring, if you enjoy interactions with them, of course.
Well, i second this asude from the "there are no drawbacks" part. I won't spoil, but there ARE some things that vare time sensitive. Take your time, explore, talk to ppl, discover secrets, definitely don't hesitate to long rest regularly, but get the feel for when something really IS urgent and might advance story wise if you wasre too too much time, lol
@@chipsalom Well, yeah, of course, I meant in general, I think those situations are typically very obvious in their urgency, though. Like, if you find someone bleeding to death on the street, you don't go "let's take a rest first!". There's also one instance where companions will warn you not to rest until you do a specific thing (one rest is still fine in that specific case). But other than that you're typically always fine to rest if nothing important is happening right in front of you.
Ohh, yes, you should definitely check in with your Camp mates. Dialogue is informative as well as necessary. Sometimes your fellow Companion's know how to tackle future quest lines, as well as share their opinions. Get know your Camp mates, and their interesting quirks. Strengths and weaknesses. Story plots, and real facts why they have teamed up with you, on the journey. Don't get discouraged Your a Bard, learn to give inspiring healing music in waves, to your fellow Camp mates. They will be thankful by believing in your leadership qualities. And even value thy friendship, kindred spirit!! Equal mischief too.✨😼✨💖 Just so long as you value theirs too. And it's a long lonely BG3 play thru. Bless 💖🛡️✨
@konradstanczyk5158 Hulloo to a fellow DND nerd! Thank you so much, that really means a lot :) A few people have said the same actually, I was worried I would bore everyone but now I wish I'd left it in! Sorry about that. That's really good to know, I'll make sure I take long rests as frequently as possible. Particularly after certain quests or storylines. And to talk to companions in new areas, I definitely love interactions with them. Thank you so much for letting me know! I've already filmed part 2 but I'll keep this in mind for part 3/the stream on Saturday :)
@melissaamato1139 "Sometimes your fellow Companion's know how to tackle future quest lines, as well as share their opinions." Ooooo that's interesting, thanks for letting me know! They're all such interesting characters so far, I can't wait to get to know more about them and start their questlines. Thanks for the advice, and here's to keeping our camp mates entertained with some Bard tunes and adventuring mischief. I absolutely value everything they bring to the table, one of the most important things to me in this game is building up friendships and trust with them. I will be gutted if there is a betrayal of some kind from one of the companions! Blessings to you too xx
@@AshbeeGaming 38:18 Note that if someone fails a check, that doesn't mean that you can't have someone else check it as well. You could have selected your Bard and have her check each of the screens as well. She has been successful with Arcana checks.
Your level of looking at everything and seeing details in the story is definitely better than most. You realized things most people take a while to catch. An example is Astarion being a vampire. Not only have I never played as shadowheart to look at the artifact, but you did it very very early in the game. I’ve never seen anyone else do that. There are TONS of speaking with animals opportunities. Funny and even important at times. Definitely the right move. You actually could have gotten the everburn blade by command drop with shadowheart. That is the best and easiest way, but you don’t get the experience from killing him.
It's just TOO DAMN GOOD. Neil Newbon is a god haha. Happy to be a member of the club ;) Thank you so much I really appreciate that! Part 2 will be up soon.
@@AshbeeGaming I have another combat tip: You can throw healing potions at your companions from a distance as well, in the case they are down and therefore out of combat, in order to get them back on their feet and into the fight again, without having to go there and personally touch them in order to get them up again.....
@@AshbeeGaming Jumping distance is increased by your Strength Score and the spells like Enhanced Leap (which can be casted for free as a Ritual Spell outside Turn-Based mode and can be cast on your entire party for those difficult jumping sections).
For the change in the voice when talking to Lae'zell, much of the early lines were recorded at the voice actors homes because of Covid. They did do a lot of rerecording, but some stuff may have a change in timber because of the home mic's vs studio equipment.
I haven’t finished watching but I am now subscribed. The editing and commentary is too funny. I have a set of dice with triceratops in them, similar to the rabbit ones shown. I’m looking forward to this series.
Thanks to your comment my bunny dice are rolling well for me, they love attention haha! The triceratops dice sound super cute. Welcome to the channel, so happy you enjoyed the video 🥰
@@AshbeeGaming Be sure to cast Speak With Animals on your main character after every long rest outside of Turn-Based Mode. It is a Ritual Spell and is a free cast without taking a Spell Slot and lasts until your next Long Rest.
love seeing new people try this game out, it is an absolute gem. Have abt 4 playthroughs done and 1k hrs in it and as someone else mentioned there is still new things to find. Also appreciate the Bard pick, it's my fav class, just behind druid. Speak with animals is a good pick, though as you get further in the game you'll find plenty of potions that give you speak with animals all day and at that point it's really worth choosing another spell. One spell that I will recommend is glyph of warding as it allows you to choose the effect which can be elemental damage but also has an option for sleep that doesn't have the hit point limitation of the sleep spell, I found that very useful. Looking forward to you going further with this for sure, keep up the good work.
UA-cam recommended this video to me, and I do hope you continue to share your adventure with us! Your editing is great, your humor on point, and so many other things that "just worked" to make this a very engaging video to watch. But it was your *_utter disgust_* with the default Bard outfit that sold me on your channel! I mean, what the hells were they thinking? LOL Hope to 'see' you soon!
Thankyou so much for the kind words, they really mean a lot 🥰 The editing takes awhile so it’s always nice to hear it’s received well. Haha yes absolutely utter disgust! I mean the frills? The pattern? I dare not guess what was running through their fashion-less heads! 😉
Aww, I really enjoy watching people do character creation, especially if they're learning as they go. Anyway, I hope you do continue! I also hope you don't cut too much - a lot of UA-camrs assume viewers will be bored with looting and even exploring, but it's all part of the journey and enjoyable to watch :) Good to let the action scenes breathe, as well as listening to party banter.
A few people have said this actually, I was definitely worried that I would bore people. But I'll take your advice and cut less in part 2, as that seems to be what everyone wants. Sorry I cut out the character creation!! If I had known people enjoy it I would have left it in for sure.
That was a fun watch. I love seeing people experience the game for the first time and watching their choices, challenges and solutions. There is so much to do and see in the game, and the lore (both general and storyline specific) is interspersed between NPC dialogue, Books, Notes and Companion conversations, so be sure to take your time, explore all the things, read all the books, and talk to everyone and everything you can! (Remember to cast Speak With Animals at the start of every day!) I have just under 1000 hours in the game, and I have gotten every achievement on Steam, and I still find new things on each run through (of my own or watching someone else's!). There are also so many options for classes and skills and spells (even considering how streamlined they had to make it compared to Table Top), and none of them are really bad... granted some are certainly better than others... but even the supposedly "poor" options can work really well when you put your mind to it. Bards are great for the wealth of skills and a bunch of special dialogue choices that are sometimes just hilarious. Hope you keep up the series, and have fun! Good luck!
I'm glad you enjoyed :) Yes it's insane that after almost 1000 hours in the game you're still finding new things! Larian has been thorough indeed. Your advice was very helpful while filming part 2, I'm making sure to read every book and search for hidden little notes. I'm talking to everyone, animals included haha! I'll be sure to cast at the start of every day if I don't have a potion. The bard dialogue options I've seen so far are genuinely amazing, love how they play into the trope. Do you have a favourite class or spell?
@@AshbeeGaming Glad to be of some assistance! It is hard to pick a favorite, but the classes/combos I use the most (for my Tav/Durge or my companions) tend to be: Druid of the Moon Monk (open Hand)/Rogue/Fighter Tempest Cleric/Wizard/Storm Sorcerer Vengeance Paladin/Warlock Vengeance Paladin/Bard Gloomstalker Ranger/Assassin Berserker Barbarian
Heyha! I just found this playthrough/channel. I'm on my 3(4?) playthrough, but I lso can't get enough of peoples reaction to the game, especially if they have prior knowledge of BG or DnD. Starting late can be a good thing for single-player games, as long as you can avoid major spoilers, since you get a better experience after bug fixes, changes and even entire additions of dialogue and events. You clearly have a lot of fun, while also taking things seriously and even read whats on screen. Me not wanting to pull my hair out while watching someone playing is alway big plus. And the edits are the cherry on top. I can't wait to see you continuing your journey.
I was thinking "Nooo, the famous trick is to make the Commander drop the weapon, not to fight him..." Then you managed to defeat him! 😅 That usually goes as a string of misses followed by reloading. You're very observant, btw. Glad you are enjoying it.
In case you are not aware, the thief subclass of rogue actually gets another bonus action to use on every single turn. It can be a very powerful multiclass dip or choice for Astarion.
oh wow I have been scouring this site for a first play-through of this amazing game to watch but had given up! it is so refreshing to find someone with a wonderful and funny personality who reads things and plays the game carefully! 9:33 "Hell, yeah! City defense!" Not so much. Githyanki long ago made a pact with Tiamat, god-queen of chromatic dragons. Red dragons serve as mounts for Githyanki warriors, and in exchange the dragons are pampered and paid well. The Gith were once enslaved by the Ilithid, so it's a rite of passage for warriors to kill a Mindflayer.
Nice work with the commander. Just so you know for future, you can use the Cleric's ability to command an enemy to drop their weapon if you want it from them ❤
Watching the opening cinematics. "at least there's water under him." belly flopping into water from that height would be no different then belly flopping into cement.
You did great and you're gonna love it! I actually always got Astarion before Gale, didn't even know you could go the other way around, here I am in Act 3 and you've taught me something, just proves how many different avenues there are in this game.
Save scumming is a must, just not load scumming! There is a lot that can go wrong that will leave you no choice but to reload, from party wipes to game bugs or crashes, and having to redo hours of memorable events that then turn out differently sucks too much to not press F5 occasionally. But you definitely don't want to reload when things don't go your way because the game is extremely varied and failing something can lead to effects just as interesting and unique as succeeding at something can, or even more when you are forced to go alternative ways and think outside the box.
So awesome to see you get started! Best i can say is, play this game unlike any other video game. Keep up the rpg! There is no wrong choice, there are only "alternatives and their consequences". Like, this game is a masterful piece of long game pay off in so many ways! The story you write as you play will be it's own masterpiece!! I've played several different times, and seen absolutely absurdly different outcomes for my companions, the type of ppl they can become (very few companions are a static characterization, they can and will be watching what you do and growing in good or bad ways based on you, whether you respect them, or maybe believe they have no boundaries.... And so on. Sure they're video game characters, but they're not written to serce you. You're just another regular adventurer, experiencing this stiry from your own perspective, not "the hero of the story". You and they might grow to become heros, but the world is living around you!! Can't wait to see what your playthrough is like!
"There is no wrong choice, there are only "alternatives and their consequences"" words to live by. The fact that the player can WRITE the story thanks to so many different routes is incredible, I'm in love with the game so far. That's very exciting about the companions, I just kind of assumed they would end up the same no matter what. It's a little nervewracking knowing I could sour a companions opinion of me, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Static characterization gets boring, adds more weight to the choices I make. Very refreshing to be treated not as a main character but just as another adventurer in a world filled with them. Thank you for letting me know!
Laezel is magnificent. She is a bit like General Zod from one of the latest Superman movies. Completely devoted to the cause, trained from a young age for one thing and one thing alone. Not one hypocrite cell in her body she means every word she says. But to invite her to your birthday....maybe not. One of the other guests might die.
Speak with animals is actually a surprisingly useful spell. Picking that was a good idea. Use it at every opportunity you can. I'm going to start calling mind flayers Larrys now lol.
Very entertaining! The editing is very well done, too! I hope there's not too many backseat gamers or people trying to spoil your first playthrough! Glad you went with your gut and took animal friendship. If you're taking what you think is fun, that's all that matters.
Dragon V.S. flying Ammonite!? HELL-YEAH!!! My first, one, & only experience with Baldurs Gate games was in 2001 when i was getting big into Medieval Fantasy Adventure content. My Bestie brought over Baldurs Gate for PS2 and we did revel in the D&D lore & trappings of generic hack&slash gaming. This was in the middle of my Diablo 2 game and he knew it would be super-cool for us to partake of that game. He was my guide into D&D and we had fun playing it for a few days while he was visiting.
The ultimate VS for sure! Oh noice, yeah I’m a total sucker for Medieval Fantasy content, it’s my fav. That’s such a sweet memory! For sure one of the best part of Baldurs Gate so far is recognising some of the DND lore. I can’t wait to see even more of it. I haven’t played the earlier games, what did you think of them? @@AshbeeGaming i never fully fulfilled my DND endeavors by participating in a structured game, just alot of practice and peripheral activities. I was prolific in Medieval Fantasy from 1999 to 2017 but nowdays ive gone more into Renaissance and Classical eras, because i needed to advance into more civilized and ascendant content from Dark Age content. This due to my embracing of Scientific culture and hobbies as my life-long Biology passion expanded about 5 yrs ago. Also i just got alil burned-out on it... especially when GoT ended and The Hobbit completed. Now I'm getting into Steampunk! = -D
@@AshbeeGaming The DND oriented PS2game & Diablo PC game went well together and also i was playing the TLotR games back in 2003. Heyoo! Happy to see a fellow DnD nerd getting into this game! Don't worry about cutting things out. Part of the fun of watching a blind playthrough is seeing the raw exploration and thought process! I played Tactician my first time through and found it wasn't all that bad, but I've also been DMing 5e for years so if you're familiar enough with 5e's ruleset you should be fine on that difficulty. Unfortunately, I don't know if you'll get the achievement for beating the game on Tactician if you didn't start that way, but that just means you'll have to play through again. Oh darn! Just a few suggestions/tips that I found improved my experience: - Turn off "Karmic Dice" in the options. This makes your dice rolls actual dice rolls instead of skewing things towards success/failure artificially. This is truer to the DnD experience, and it makes things like stats and bonuses actually impactful. - Unless you respec her later to have different stats, Shadowheart's Firebolt is useless in combat because it uses her INT rather than WIS. Still useful for setting things on fire if you need it, but it's a notorious noob trap. - Speaking of respeccing, when you get the ability to do this, basically all of the companions have wonky stat spreads for their class. It's worth respeccing them just to change those stat spreads, even if you keep them in the same class. - Obviously, choose the spells you want and there's no wrong choices, but it's relatively easy to find/make potions of speak with animals in this game, and they last until long rest so you only need one per LR. Also, some of the spells can be cast outside of combat for free (they're ritual spells) and they last until your next long rest. They don't really indicate this well in the UI, but I would recommend casting Longstrider on all of your companions after a LR for a nice movement boost in combat all day long. You may want to look up which spells are considered ritual spells like this in BG3 since, as I said, it's not indicated well. - While I admire the commitment to not save-scum, there's literally nothing wrong with it. If you feel like a missed dice roll has robbed you of the story you really want, nobody is going to judge you for going back and trying again. There's a whole difficulty level (Honour Mode) where save scumming is disabled/prevented, so the devs kind of expect players to use it in other difficulties. That said, I would only use it for major plot points when it's going to derail the story you're going for. No need to save scum every attack roll unless you're in a truly desperate situation. - Above all else, HAVE FUN! This game has some of the best stories, characters, and environments, and based on your exploration so far you're going to uncover a LOT in your playthrough, so remember that while you do have us, the audience, following along, at the end of the day it's YOUR experience we're tuning in to, not just some content you're making to present to the rest of us. Enjoy the game, immerse yourself in it, and the rest of us are going to enjoy seeing how your journey unfolds regardless. +1 subscription, see you in the next one!
Shocking grasp is an excellent cantrip even if it is melee. Gives damage and shocks enemy, and it allows you to disengage for free on a hit. It's not OP, but it is very clutch in some situations. It's top 3.
@@AshbeeGaming minor illusion is great. Firebolt and ray of frost are both good ranged cantrips for most classes. If you're a warlock, Eldritch Blast is one of the best damage dealers in the game.
it's excellent if it's a class cantrip, cantrips chosen from the high elf cantrip list are scaled on intelligence and not on your spellcaster ability (charisma for the bard), for this occasion her shocking grasp won't be reliable

I made sure to kill all(including the mind flayer), and get all loot(including all stairs and corners), that took a lot of planning. And a bit of save scumming with 3 reloads. Made all the harder by my slow-roll build(weak early), and destroying the intellect devourer when i found it.
Awesome! Thanks you so much. Honestly my mind is blown on the amount of comments suggesting this, it's quite complimentary. I'll make sure to tone down the editing in Part 2. I appreciate the advice :)
Hello! New to this channel but I love BG3 and I've been looking for a good playthrough to watch someone else experience it for the first time. Such a good game, the writing and acting is amazing, and I can't wait to see what kinds of choices you make. You commented about loving Astarion's voice, his VA is Neil Newbon, an amazing voice actor who does voice acting and mo-cap work in a lot of video games.
While I don't like the character of Astarion, I must admit, that the VA of Neil Newbon is real great and Astarion also has some great lines in the game. Still I mostly leave him in camp.
Neil Newbon’s performances are always great, even (especially) when the character he’s playing is a bit of a jerk. See also, both of his characters in Detroit: Become Human. Astarion’s my personal favorite BG3 character, but I can totally see why other people might not like him, especially with just how much his fans gush about him.
@@LJA116 I must admit, that I know him only from BG3, because I don't know the other games he is in. I also have no problem, that he (Neil) is popular, since it is absolutely covered by talent. I think, I just don't like arrogant jerks -- Astarion is just too arrogant to be likeable by me. The other reason is, that a pure Trickster rogue is IMHO not so good for fighting -- and for unlocking doors or chests I don't need him.
Welcome to the hive! Glad you're here :D You're absolutely right, the game is incredible. Haven't found myself bored yet. Just filmed part 2 and there's a squirrel that bites you, that you can kick! The detail man. Cracked me up. I've heard of Neil Newbon before, but had no idea he did mocap work. A talented guy for sure.
@LJA116 @What_do_I_Think Just filmed part 2 and Astarion is a bit of a jerk for sure, I'm thinking I find it loveable and funny though. Unfortunately he keeps disapproving of my actions :( He is very helpful for cheeky thievery antics though
@@AshbeeGaming Note that when you are out of Turn-Based Mode, you can open up your spells and select what is prepared from your list without needing to rest for free. So you can open up your list, prepare Feather Fall, cast it and jump down from a high place, land, then open up your spell book and re-select your combat spells before moving on. Just be aware that if the spell has an ongoing effect, it ends when you un-prepare it. Also if you have levels in Wizard, you can scribe scrolls into your spellbook by right-clicking and select "scribe scroll", spending the appropriate gold value.
Hey Chika! Same here, I'm not even that deep in and I'm already obsessed. That's amazing, I reckon I'll end up doing multiple playthroughs as well. What builds did you go for?
Just in case of feeling that your half-high-elf cantrip is underperforming, down the line... all cantrips from high elf background scale same way as wizard spells aka INT scaling
@@AshbeeGaming It is a good idea to use non-combat high-elf cantrips if you don't boost your intelligence. Also make sure to get Guidance and Resistance, you are able to cast them on almost every die roll selection in the game as a boost. Also note that any Ritual Spell can be cast outside of Turn-Based Mode for free. So once you get Longstrider, Enhance Leap, Feather Fall, Speak with Animals, Speak with Dead, Silence, Find Familiar, etc. spend a few moments outside of Turn-Based Mode to cast them on everyone, most last until Long Rest. You won't lose a single spell slot.
Definitely glad you are playing BG3. Have fun playing, and looking forward to the next video.
That was fun and I would definitely like to see how this plays out. I have to say, as someone who has DM'd a lot of D&D and also has a few thousand hours in BG3, you are a very good player. So yes please 😁
Aw, you should have shown us the character creation process. I like watching people agonize over those choices, because that's part of the fun. Shadowheart is so goth.
I've had a few people say this actually! I absolutely would have included the character creation if I knew people wouldn't be bored by it. Thanks for letting me know :) And yes, yes she is. I love it haha.
One good use for Shocking Grasp is if you need to escape from an enemy in melee range, because it prevents their reaction which is to attack you when you move away. The downside is that all High Elf attack cantrips use INT and yours is only 12 so the chance of the attack succeeding is not good.
The first couple of hours in Baldur's Gate III are insanely hard. And then you click next and realize you need to create a guardian too.

Character creation is the one of the best parts, though! I wish you'd kept a bit more of it tbh😅
Also, a piece of advice if you're interested: it's worth taking long rests relatively frequently in the game - there are many camp scenes with companions that can be missed otherwise, and there aren't any drawbacks to resting (other than needing supplies).
Don't get discouraged
Your a Bard, learn to give inspiring healing music in waves, to your fellow Camp mates.
They will be thankful by believing in your leadership qualities. And even value thy friendship, kindred spirit!!
Equal mischief too.✨😼✨💖
Just so long as you value theirs too.
Recommended save a lot, and check in on how Party members approve you, and how you measure up as their closest support, or in a Relationship status with them.
Or fail in their devotion, to you.
And it's a long lonely BG3 play thru.
Bless 💖🛡️✨
@konradstanczyk5158 Hulloo to a fellow DND nerd! Thank you so much, that really means a lot :)
A few people have said the same actually, I was worried I would bore everyone but now I wish I'd left it in!
Laezel misses with her only shot in battle.
Also Laezel "you are surprisingly adequate in battle....."
Well, it fits. It sounds a lot weirder when you are the one missing and she compliments you after dispatching all the enemies by herself.
I was a bard on my first play through and, let me tell you, they are a powerful class to play.
Very happy with the voice so far. Plus the dialogue choices are *chefs kiss*
@@AshbeeGaming 38:18 Note that if someone fails a check, that doesn't mean that you can't have someone else check it as well.
You could have selected your Bard and have her check each of the screens as well. She has been successful with Arcana checks.
Yes as long as you are not in combat 😂😂
I'm so glad you are reading the options you choose, it makes watching so much easier.
I realized that all gith respond positively to a passed intimidation check, they seem to enjoy it and respect you more
Dear god that Zhalk fight was extremely lucky!
Those bunny dice are adorable.
Everyone LOVE Astarion voice, welcome to the club😂 I’m so happy I find your channel, I love this first video and I want more 😍
It's just TOO DAMN GOOD. Neil Newbon is a god haha. Happy to be a member of the club ;) Thank you so much I really appreciate that! Part 2 will be up soon.
@@AshbeeGaming very happy, he Devora and Jennifer will be at NYCC.
@@AshbeeGaming Did you know that Astarion's voice actor won the Video Game Awards 2023 for Best Performance?
you're so thorough...on my first playthrough i never even thought of examining the mysterious object in my inventory
Why thankyou! Honestly it took me by surprise, great little feature by Larian. They really thought of everything.
I loved speak with animals in this game. Lots of good animal conversations.
With "jump" you can increase the distance of your movements during combat. Especially Laezel can jump huge distances.
Oooo this is a great tip, thank you! I will 100% be utilizing this.
@@AshbeeGaming I have another combat tip:
You can throw healing potions at your companions from a distance as well, in the case they are down and therefore out of combat, in order to get them back on their feet and into the fight again, without having to go there and personally touch them in order to get them up again.....
Omg, I love your personality and energy 😊 You're really adorable
love seeing new people try this game out, it is an absolute gem.
LOL
Hope to 'see' you soon!
Thankyou so much for the kind words, they really mean a lot 🥰 The editing takes awhile so it’s always nice to hear it’s received well.
Haha yes absolutely utter disgust! I mean the frills? The pattern? I dare not guess what was running through their fashion-less heads! 😉
I've seen so many Let's Plays of BG3, but this is by far the most entertaining. I hope you continue. It's so much fun to watch you play
Absolutely agree. If I'm bored, I can skip it. Most of the time, I don't. As you say, it's all part of the journey.
A few people have said this actually, I was definitely worried that I would bore people. But I'll take your advice and cut less in part 2, as that seems to be what everyone wants. Sorry I cut out the character creation!! If I had known people enjoy it I would have left it in for sure.
@hederahelix4600 That's a great point, I'll cut out less in part 2 for sure :)
@@AshbeeGaming There are people out there who even find inventory management soothing... You never know! ;)
It is hard to pick a favorite, but the classes/combos I use the most (for my Tav/Durge or my companions) tend to be:
Druid of the Moon
Monk (open Hand)/Rogue/Fighter
Tempest Cleric/Wizard/Storm Sorcerer
Vengeance Paladin/Warlock
Vengeance Paladin/Bard
Gloomstalker Ranger/Assassin
Berserker Barbarian
Found you randomly and love your vibe and sense of humor. I’ll be back!
I'm so happy to hear that! I hope I'll see you again in the next video :)
Fun start! You're going to have a lot of fun with this, and us with you
Thank you! It's certainly very fun so far, it really means a lot having you along for the ride.
In case you are not aware, the thief subclass of rogue actually gets another bonus action to use on every single turn. It can be a very powerful multiclass dip or choice for Astarion.
Get him some hand crossbows to combine with that and watch him wreck enemies!
Why is the bard motto "Red flags? We ignore those." I am certain that all bards live by that.
Oh absolutely. If anything it’s “Red flags? We love those”. Cheeky scoundrels the lot of them!

Not so much.
This has been a most enjoyable first episode! Looking forward to more!
Hey, I’m very glad to see you posting again! I remember first finding your channel during your Maera Skyrim roleplay and was hooked ever since
Nice work with the commander. Just so you know for future, you can use the Cleric's ability to command an enemy to drop their weapon if you want it from them ❤

Watching the opening cinematics. "at least there's water under him."
belly flopping into water from that height would be no different then belly flopping into cement.
"Oh booty" from Laezel's outfit. Lol
Glad I found this play through. I love this game and you’re making a fun to watch again
I enjoy your style of playing and the fun edits. Subscribed.
I'm so glad you enjoy them! Welcome to the channel :D
I can already tell I'm gonna like watching your playthrough
Yay! That means a lot 🥰
OMG 😍 so glad to see you back! Can't wait to watch this!!!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy 🥰
Ohhh I loved this.👏🏼 Hope you continue to post the episodes Istik.
Yay! Thanks so much for your support :) I will definitely continue to post episodes
I loved this video. I can't wait to watch the rest of this playthrough!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Just finished filming part 2 :)
Very entertaining! The editing is very well done, too!
I hope there's not too many backseat gamers or people trying to spoil your first playthrough! Glad you went with your gut and took animal friendship. If you're taking what you think is fun, that's all that matters.
This game is a wild ride and you’re going to have a blast. (Also dice goals). Absolutely love your accent!
Dragon V.S. flying Ammonite!?
You still play DND?
It was a great time for Medieval Fantasy with the LordOfRings & Harry Potter movies. Being an avid reader i have always focused on exploring the literarry origins of the Tolkien and D&D stuff becoming popular when i was a teenager in 2001. For the next decade i experienced the best & worst of MedAdv games. The best of which being Zelda, D&D, and Elder Scrolls games.
@@AshbeeGaming
My Medieval Fantasy fandom actually started with and is centered around Dragons. I currently credit the movie DragonHeart as igniting my Dragoconic affinity and bolstering my Medieval interests. Prior to that i was first struck by Medieval fever by Zelda:OoT, and before that Tolkien fever with reading The Hobbit book as a kid in 1990s.
Cool a new play through of my favorite game. :). Excited to see how you like it.

@@AshbeeGaming Oh, I wasn't even meaning to plug my channel, but you're always welcome!
Oh darn!
Just a few suggestions/tips that I found improved my experience:
- Turn off "Karmic Dice" in the options.

It's top 3.
That DOES make me feel a little better. The disengage will come in handy cause Lirien is pretty squishy at the moment. What are your top 2?
@@AshbeeGaming minor illusion is great. Firebolt and ray of frost are both good ranged cantrips for most classes. If you're a warlock, Eldritch Blast is one of the best damage dealers in the game.
it's excellent if it's a class cantrip, cantrips chosen from the high elf cantrip list are scaled on intelligence and not on your spellcaster ability (charisma for the bard), for this occasion her shocking grasp won't be reliable

Unfortunately he keeps disapproving of my actions :( He is very helpful for cheeky thievery antics though
omg i love your editing style it makes it even more fun!!
I have played many hours of Act 1. This game has so many things to do, I can't rush through it.
I'll be joining you and your many hours, it's definitely a game that rewards a thorough playthrough.
No decisions are incorrect, no playstyle is wrong, but it's best to utilize the party strengths in your combat encounters.
39:37 shadowheart first attack of the game with 80% chance to hit !! MISS ofc it is ....
5:47 "😁 I am so ready for thi- SUPRISE MOTHAFUCKA* "WAIT WHAT 😯😑???!!" 😂🤣💀 shiii had me dying
When creating a character and getting the elven cantrip keep in mind it's an INT based cantrip no matter which class you choose
Darn. Lirien is NOT an intelligence based build 😭 Hopefully there’s a ‘Headband of Intellect’ somewhere in the game I can exploit. Thanks for the tip!
Like your music knowledge, walking boots.
Seems those boo.s have heard everything.
Those boots have seen some things haha
Loving your playthrough. Subbed
I’m so glad! Welcome to the channel ☺️
Hi Ashbee! I can get enough of BG3! I beat the game twice and every time i watch i see new dialogue choices! Its such a well made game! have fun!
Darn, glad you pointed this out. Lirien is NOT an intelligence based build so that'll bite me on the bum down the line for sure.
Heyyy!! good to see you back :)
Hey!! Thank you 😊
Welcome back
Thank you 🥰
Welcome back Ashbee! ❤❤
Thankyou!! ❤️❤️
Definitely glad you are playing BG3. I really like this game, unfortunately the map and mini-map are just black for me (apparently due to the age of my graphics driver, even though the card itself is a powerful nvidia card) so not playing as much as I'd like until I get a better machine.
Have fun playing, and looking forward to the next video.
That was fun and I would definitely like to see how this plays out. I have to say, as someone who has DM'd a lot of D&D and also has a few thousand hours in BG3, you are a very good player. So yes please 😁
Oh wow thank you so much! There's something particularly complementary about hearing that from a seasoned DM. Made my night! :D
@@AshbeeGaming Seasoned would be one way to put it. I started when the boxed set came out 😁
Im new but i will love to see more of you playing BG3
Welcome to the hive! I'll play more for sure :D
Aw, you should have shown us the character creation process. I like watching people agonize over those choices, because that's part of the fun.
Shadowheart is so goth.
I've had a few people say this actually! I absolutely would have included the character creation if I knew people wouldn't be bored by it. Thanks for letting me know :)
And yes, yes she is. I love it haha.
As a note, if you don't have enough movement speed to make it to an enemy with your fighter, you can make a jump to get more distance.
One good use for Shocking Grasp is if you need to escape from an enemy in melee range, because it prevents their reaction which is to attack you when you move away. The downside is that all High Elf attack cantrips use INT and yours is only 12 so the chance of the attack succeeding is not good.
Excited for the next part!
Awesome! Editing it now :D
