I have made lotion bars, following your UA-cam video 5 years ago. "My giddy aunt" they were fantastic. Then I lost the recipe, Ughh!! Now I've found you, I have subscribed to you, I'm not losing you again. Love what you do, you're down to earth, I like that. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe and instructions. 👏 👏 😍 😍
May I offer a tip to minimise drips? WHen you pour from the jug, pour over the back of a spoon to guide the flow to where you want it to go, then as you stop pouring and drip is just off the spoon not down the sides of the jug ;) easier to minimise the waste. I've not made these but it works great with jelly's so maybe useful for this too. Great demo thanks :)
Shea butter will loose good nutrition if you heat them up too long(like 30min). So chop the big chunk to little and than heat them up will shorten the time on heat.
Hi Raven, my husband and son make sales mainly here in Ellis County, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Navarro Counties. Selling palm hats, Moore Maker knives, kilts, and my son has started making leather sheaths and etc....
I love your nails and apron! Hey you should avoid regular almond oil, it goes rancid quick! Use sweet almond oil instead! When making something with only oils add vitamin E its an antioxidant that will help prolong your oils from going rancid. Its not a preservative but it helps with shelf life.
U can also grind the calendula petals into a powder and but it in the oils when there hot they’ll melt right into the lotion bar. And u won’t need to use as many it’s more beneficial and if will save u a lot of money on all those petals. I’m ambidextrous also. Luv ur channel!
Never microwave natural ingredients as the good vitamins and nutritious properties will be lost. When heating over the stove, the moment the ingredients melt take off the fire immediately or the nutritional properties will get damaged
I don’t melt butters or the beeswax on the stove anymore. I read that it looses a lot of it’s benefits from being at that temp to long the good stuff breaks down to much and evaporates off. I do then in lil pieces in the microwave separately then the beeswax last . I do 10 seconds then stir then repeat so I make small batches n really cut ur butters up small break up the cocoa butter they will melt quickly then combine then heat up the beeswax mix add ur oil n pour! U’ll notice a difference as u use on the skin!
yes it is exactly how you said it miss...Ca len jula...lol and the itchy skin YES in the desert heat yes need to stay very moisturized with a good lotion and in the chilly months as well.. I should invest in some bars I keep hand lotions above all sinks kitchen and both bathrooms...I naturally have gator skin so moisturizing is very important....LOVE ur bars and wow 3oz those are huge....awesome job love. HAPPY LABORING DAY 💜
I added my store link...however I am just starting to have them available. It's hot here in Texas! so I sell them locally...yhen when fall hits...they go on the shop page
Good morning! I too make the lotion bars. Have you considered chopping or cutting the beeswax so that it will melt about he same as the other hard oils and not cook the oils/butters so long as not to lose their healing properties? God bless and keep bringing videos to inform us.
your bars are amazing, and such a big size yes I get dry hands, an Lloyd yrs round tho, cause I over wash I guess thanks for doing this tutorial it was great fun!!!!! blessings xxx
This was the best comment! Made me laugh. It was a kinda burgundy. Sorry for the late response. These comments don't always show up. Look me up on on insta ravenflowerwest
I love your lotion bars the orange spice is my favorite and it smells amazing. I made some lotion bars recently and put shea butter in it and it ruined my bars it smelled terrible and it over powered my essential oils. Do you have any tips to avoid that?
Merry Meet, love your channel and just saw you talking with the wonderful Ladygravedancer, great chat so I had to scurry on over and subscribed. This looks so wonderful will you be shipping to Canada?Blessings...)0(
I commented to someone who watched one of your videos it was a good comment. You sent back a message in all caps it sounded very angry.Don't know what that was all about.I deleted the comments and let it go as I am not here for conflict.Blessed Be.)0(
Hello! and thank you for watching. It means a lot. I will ship anywhere pretty much. I can always figure out the shipping cost prior to sending. However the lotion bars are sold seasonally. It's becoming way too hot to send them in the Spring and Summer months. They are available Oct-April
Nice...what purpose does the petals serve? Can you make the lotion bars without the petals? It seems like it may be a little abrasive on the hands...I never used lotion bars before, so anyone can answer this question please ☺.
Elita Ali I make them with our without. The petals are more for the eye. decorative. I am sure they add a bit of healing as well but the main stuff is in the oils and butters used. I have had some orders asking for extra petals or spices for exfoliation purposes. but i like mine plain
Raven Flower Ok, thanks for responding back. If I make one I would like to use it for my body also. I was nervous about the petals hurting me 😊. I will make a plain one.
My internet is ridiculous and I wasn't able to finish the whole video, so if the answer to my question was answered in the video, I apologize. Do you ever have a problem with your beeswax smelling bad? I bought 2 different brands of beeswax and both had the strongest smell. I actually made some lotion bars with the wax and cocoa/shea butters, but I wasn't able to use them because the smell of the beeswax was still so strong. Have you ever noticed the smell of the beeswax overpowering the aroma of your bars? Other people seemed to have had good results with the same recipe I used, so maybe I was just unfortunate to get 2 different bad batches of beeswax. This was my one and only experience with beeswax so I'm not sure if it's supposed to smell that strongly or not.
I no longer have a shop but can do custom orders if you'd like. You set the price. Shipping is usps flat rate. Send me a message at ravenflowerwest@gmail.com

Fun fact.. if you make whipped body butter with Cocoa butter and Vanilla oil.. it smells JUST like a hershey bar..
That sounds wonderful!

I love your apron. It just want to make me cry. 🙌🙌😍😍

Nice video, but after coughing into my hand(s), I always sanitize or wash my hands before I proceed to making things since I sell to the public.
Why not cut up the beeswax?
CJ F yes you could do that

'Calendula '. Wouldn't you be better off just using the jug to melt your waxes in, that's what I do, much less hassle.
This video is me sharing what I do. If you have found a different way that works for you, then rock it.
can I eat it
well I guess you could...lol
