I too have very fond memories of shelling peas with my Grandmother. I was about 4 years old, and having a little holiday with my grandparents on their small farm in the Waikato district, here in New Zealand. I remember going and picking the peas with Nana, and sitting on the back steps shelling them with her. "One for you and one for the pot", I remember her saying to me as she popped a pea in my mouth. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful memory - it was 67 years ago! Love and Hugs xx

Really enjoy your vlogs. Your repartee is quite amusing and your cooking is exceptional. I feel your sorrow around Misty's blindness --we have a 12 year old Maine Coon cat who developed diabetes three years ago and went blind last winter. We had the blood pressure checked (which is primary cause) and it was okay. He gets around the house just fine and takes most comfort by being in a lap or in our bed--we're he is most of the time. I think he's still happy and content. My best to you both in your future endeavors.

Brilliant. The salad looked delicious and I'm definitely going to try the spinach dish. :) So lovely to see you two and Misty with her tail wagging furiously. I did send Lee a DM when she was first poorly but I think he missed it, probably out picking peas! :) :) We had a little dog who was blind and he adapted so well. Our vet always used to say that a confident blind dog is happier than a nervous sighted dog.

Wow looks so delicious Belinda, I make Spanakoriso....aka spinach risotto Greek style with olive oil and chopped tomatoes and lots of chopped fennel one of my all time favourites.
Also Greeks use all the broad bean skin and all but only small tender ones like the size you had picked just cooked then lemon juice and olive oil dressing the skins are tender and taste of the broad bean and no waste 👍👍👍

Young Spinach works brilliantly as salad. I put it on sandwiches, so delicious. I am still making that Lettuce Soup recipe you showed and I used spinach for that instead of lettuce. So delicious. Lovely recipes Belinda! A great way to use broad beans is to pick the pods when they are still very small and the beans are only starting to form and cook them like French beans. They are really lovely and go much further. A cross between French and broad beans in flavour. We also cooked the peas as Mange tout to get more from the crop. Did Lee know you can make pea-pod wine?

Wow, I’m salivating, I’ve just added walnut oil to my food delivery. Can’t wait to try it. I’ve just had a bean salad for my lunch with radishes Mareuil. Like you Belinda I have vivid memories of podding peas and beans as a child, I remember clearly my Mum coming and putting a sun hat on my head, I think I was four maybe five. Happy memories. So glad you are living your best live at the beautiful Chateau Mareuil. Getting to my little house in Normandie is still proving impossible, I was hoping for July, fingers crossed for September now, I can’t tell you how much I’m missing it. Love and appreciate your videos x
