Getting that skill point of beating him without getting hurt was HELL in the remaster. They made Gulp so much faster with his body slam, his bombs much bigger and homing in on where you’ll be rather than where you were and the birds took FUCKING FOREVER to come in and drop weapons. I do appreciate them making him harder still, it was satisfying as all hell to finally beat him even without the skill point.
@@aliciacleeland2257 - I was an arguably stupid prideful gamer and did it WITHOUT THE SUPERFLAME. I played the original to death and am a meticulous gamer so I racked up alot of lives by the end of the story. And like 30 of them were squandered on Gulp with having to intentionally die and reset the fight to get the damn skill point. The fight didn’t take that long. Maybe 30-45 minutes. But the quick rapid-fire losses were very rough.

Perhaps the most historic boss in the history of my childhood :') He was a right bugger took me countless attempts and frustration to beat Gulp but it was worth it. Beat the game 100% so epic
1:10 I always loved the sound Gulp made when he sees the Pterodactyls from the Skelos Badlands fly in… it gives “Oooh, pretty birdies…” vibes, and proves Gulp’s not the brightest bulb in the box.
The firing sound for Gulp’s cannons sounds just like the firing sounds for the Blarg Elite Guards’ guns. Seems like Insomniac couldn’t let the past go, either.
It would be great if the birds just brought back even more Lava Lizard eggs from Skelos Badlands and have them eat Gulp. They might eat spyro sometimes, but its worth it for the times they eat Gulp. It would make him less annoying.
I had to watch a video of the original gulp fight because I was having trouble with the reignited fight and a lot of people were saying the fight was wayyy easier in the original and this sure does look much easier
So what is the point of having Ripto seemingly fall to his death only for him to pop up again 90 seconds later? I never got that, there is not even a level between them or anything.
I hated Gulp when I was young. When i was 5, 6 or sorta, it was impossible for me to defeat him. When I was older I finally did it, but it was terrible to be stucked for years because something like this. However, I do like Gulp and Crush now, by far the best villians in all Spyro games. They look awesome in reignited trilogy.

I never played the original but have to agree he's so annoying in the remake! I can never get the skill point unless I use the superflame on him,

I came here because I've been having trouble with gulp reignited
@@Deedoo_r I found it easier to run under him when he belly flops, and run in small circles as to not get hit by the orbs.
Had 30 lives before the Gulp fight on the remaster, ended up with 5 after for the skill point.
I love seeing these old clips after playing the remastered!
The original is clearly better than the remastered.
@@miguelgarces8946 I disagree but playing the original is good for nostalgic purposes.

My god, the nostalgia is overwhelming.
They upped Gulp by 10x difficulty in the Remaster, glad they did though.
Hard boss fights are way more fun than easy boss fights
Music fucking slaps nice run the nostalgia is hitting hard
man, I remember spending hours upon hours trying to beat this dude. he used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid.
I thought he was frustrating in the remake but i beat him fast.
i'm sorry to hear that.
Wow, they really buffed the tracking on his shots for Reignited.

I thought he was frustrating but I beat him fast. I did get a couple of game overs but at least it didn't take me forever.
I know I had difficulties on this one when I was younger but I love this boss fight.
Awesome soundtrack for this fight

also sometimes you need to pause and take a break if you feel overwhelmed
I thought the boss was frustrating but I beat him quickly so I'm not complaining too much.
First indicator that Year of the Dragonfly would suck was when they made Crush and Gulp talk.
Gulp was so much easier in this version. That I spent time trolling him as a kid.
"I persuaded that fat bear Moneybags to sell me a few bomb" I always wondered why it was singular...
Turns out, in collective, pluralization is optional in English.

so the boss battle WAS easier in the original! The birds drop their loot so much quicker than in the remaster, it's ridicilous!
I appreciated them giving me chickens to heal up. It took me time to get used to his electric attack.
Sorry but this still beats the remastered version by a long shot
this was always my favorite boss fight
I thought he was frustrating in the remake but at least I had fun.
There is an editing error where Ripto still has his scepter when falling from his throne, even though gulp had previously eaten it.
This brings back memories.
The firing sound for Gulp’s cannons sounds just like the firing sounds for the Blarg Elite Guards’ guns.
Seems like Insomniac couldn’t let the past go, either.
This is like a Spyro one boss compared to the remastered
Nah the remastered is so damn hard
its the same
So true, they made him 10 times harder in Reignited but made Spike 10 times easier.
It would be great if the birds just brought back even more Lava Lizard eggs from Skelos Badlands and have them eat Gulp. They might eat spyro sometimes, but its worth it for the times they eat Gulp. It would make him less annoying.

when spyro picks up the rockets, there should be a distant "om nom nom"

So what is the point of having Ripto seemingly fall to his death only for him to pop up again 90 seconds later? I never got that, there is not even a level between them or anything.
Toad Lash I think it was part of the joke. Notice how spyro sleeps for half a moment before he wakes up, short vacation indeed.

this dude is so fucking hard to beat remastered
The boss music reminds me of nasira’s revenge
Now they have Skylanders and crap. :(
