Doug Linker's videos are great! I admire his style. Keep going and I am happy that more and more kids are homeschooled these days. My brothers 4 daughters are as well and I can see huge difference. love it :D
What a splendid video. I really appreciate the care with which you make your videos. You are a very good teacher and your English is just fine. Thank you for such lovely videos!
Hi Vladimir... MANY thanks for this - perfect introduction, superb explanation... thank you for taking the time - VERY much appreciated! I cant wait to give it a go....
Thank you again. You gave me a pep text a year ago when I kept cutting off the noses 👃🏼 of everything I try to carve. Now this little carve is just what I needed to get me back on track after a very bad winter where I couldn’t carve at all for 7 months. Sense I was just learning to carve, I almost gave up. Thank you again for a easy enough carve that I could do even if it’s not they good it was still fun. 🙏🏼
Thanks for showing, that a wood spirit can be created with a knife. No dremels of fordoms in sight or more to the point ,the noise. Good fun can be obtained with a good old-fashioned knife and a little imagination, plus patience. 🏴👍😁🧙♂️😁🏴
Wow! Thank you so much for your video. I’m just getting started ( I’m 74 ) and had to give up scroll sawing after lung cancer and chemo. Looking for something to occupy my time. Thanks again.
Thanks Vladimir! I'm just getting started teaching myself woodworking. The books I have start out with Wood Spirits and Santa Clauses. Your one video provided me with more information and inspiration than both books put together. You're both very skilled and a good teacher.
I love how you say "chip" every time you make those S cuts, great tutorial and very relaxing to watch. You could market your channel as an ASMR channel
I am retired, disabled, and just started woodcarving three months ago Wishing for a good set of Pfeil carving gouges for my 70th birthday in a couple of months. I watch all your videos and am learning, Thank you and Wood Carvers of the World.
Thanks and all the best to you. I am looking forward to see your creations.. :-) you can join me and other friendly whittlers in our facebook guild here: facebook.com/groups/wood.carving.and.whittling.homewoodspirit
This is a really easy way to carve, not too many steps and a great end result. I am going to try it on a little branch I have, just create a little corner in the wood to start from
Did one, nice variation. My collection is +1, as is my experience. Keep on creating, you're doing great. I'll be using your smile on more carvings going forward. Carving is a global community now, and every contribution like this has far reaching effects as dabblers like me integrate what they learn and pass it on. The bicycle tube trick is a good tip from our worldwide carvers. I'll be trying that one, the elastic always fails on the commercial thumb guards, and the tape thing is just enough work that I usually don't bother, consequently, I have a constant slice on my thumb due to my laziness. I've pretty well learned to keep my hands out of the blade travel, but you only have to forget once. Glad to have widened my woodspirit horizons! Thanks!
Thank you for this! I haven't whittled yet but have some projects where I want to include carvings near the end of a stick for decoration. I watched some other videos and was worried about cutting myself being a newbie and didn't think about wearing a glove and the inner tube is a smart idea.
This Is excellent. I guess I didn’t realize that the bottom of any nose is NOT flat. It does have sort of a small dip. Thank you for these videos! 👍🏼🇺🇸. And your English is just fine.
Wow. I think I can make that. Your instructions are great. Thank you you got my subscription. I think I can learn and gain confidence thru your teachings.
Nice job, just found this site. The step by step is great, I hope to get going on my carving at this time; I've got all the "tools" and wood, now I just have to practice.
Your English is fine brother. No worries there. I've seen several videos on carving wood spirits and have tried one of them. It was a disaster on my end. Your video is awesome and I'm going to try your way of doing it. Keep up the awesome work. Well done.
Good on you and thanks. :-) its my pleasure to help. Let me know in the facebook group how did u go: facebook.com/groups/wood.carving.and.whittling.homewoodspirit/
