I'm here to hear Jenni say woelex
Is it fair, pronouncing an English name from England like that? How about if everyone outside Germany pronounced the other one as Glasshutt?
🥲
@@WrightsW5she’s not arguing it’s the right way to pronounce it, she’s just saying it the way that is easiest for her.
Same way you’d probably slightly mispronounce glashutte compared to jenni
I’m here just to see Jenni… oh, and the watches, too
I'm hear to hear her say PanoramaDate
Too much of a Rolex fan girl. Rolex are great mass produced watches. GO is above and beyond better craftsmanship. I am not a fan of the SeaQ and like the submariner better for looks but Rolex is not high horology where as GO is.
The SeaQ is a watch that deserves to be handled in person. It has incredible finishing.
You buried the lead by not featuring the stainless steel blue version. That watch is absolutely beautiful!
*lede
SeaQ panoramadate is an awesome watch. I got it in green in Q1 2023 - walked into AD , tried it on and bought it. No waiting (although I visited another AD who carries GO, and they had everything except the one in green - it’s not that common). And got a decent (not huge) discount. I’d wear it over a Rolex - including my Daytona - every day of the week. Rolex are way too common. GO is not common (they only make about 20,000 watches/year). I have an 8” wrist so it’s fits just fine. If you have a smaller wrist try the standard SeaQ
I've had the blue version since Oct/20 and it truly is a man's watch. Like most German designs it is built for functionality and readability.
The build and finish is superior to my other two divers (Sub & Seamaster). I got covid end of last year and lost 25 pounds so the watch is a little large from when I bought it but I can still pull it off.
My one issue with this watch is the shiny bracelet that blings it up, I wish it wasn't so flashy. The bracelet however is one of the finest in the industry.
Keep in mind this is pretty close to being hand made as even the tools are created in house.
I asked our local watchmaker why was it so large compared to my other divers and he said that it protects the movement better than a smaller case. (Shock resistance).
I don't know whether that is true but I'll take his word for it as he is not affiliated with any brand.
i currently have a 6 watch rotation and wear this the most.
I tried a heavily used one on at a London auction. It seemed to have an entire sandy desert in the watch, and was on a composite fabric strap. The watch was so heavy that it wanted to roll off, or leave the wrist entirely. You'd need to be a huge wrist person, 7.5 inches plus to even start making this work.
I have had the SeaQ w panaromadate for about a year as an alternative to going outside in daylight with a Rolex. It’s a great watch. Very legible for older eyes and you don’t have to worry about someone ripping it off your wrist.
I own two GOs. They both have the Panorama date, which I love. I have a 20cm wrist- so ifs perfect for me. I did not like the very high polished bracelet- but I love my stainless on rubber. I got this watch on rubber new and had a Rose gold sixties white dial on crock strap. I love them both.
I would buy one if the bracelet didn't have polished center links.
A toolwatch should never have polished center links imo.
It is my understanding that for the last year or more the bracelet is now all brushed. GO apparently listened to their customers. Now they need to upgrade the regular 39mm Seaq with a better movement and a display caseback
The distortion of the numbers by the crystal is a deal breaker
It's not a problem unless you look at your watch sideways
I am actively saving for the _Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date Bicolor_ which I intend to be my next purchase. I'll probably get it on the rubber strap with the folding clasp, though I might see if I can get the grey textile strap and possibly the bracelet too. It will sit alongside my black dial, titanium _Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5015_ in my collection to give me a choice of two divers to wear.
You know, you could try the 39.5mm Sea Q . .
Why on Earth won’t GO put an exhibition case back on that model?
@@remus2001 The 39mm also doesn't have the nifty panorama date. They are really very different watches.
@@steveshap1Yes, also no solid gold rotor. You only get that on the Pano date.
Not worth it for the 10K USD. I would say it’s around 6-7K max considering you get the same finishing on a Grand Seiko.
@@fj7509 they are nowhere near list for the 39.5. A nice discount can be had. Out the door significantly less than Rolex with superior finishing. Both are great pieces just depends on what you fancy.
I have this in two tone, and it is my favorite every day watch. It came with fabric strap which did not sit very well on my wrist. After chancing to nato strap, dispate the size, it feels fomfortable and easy to use. Its not too shiny, like my yellow gold Rolex sometimes feels, and it has personality and character. Highly recommend for wrists 17,5 and bigger. Its quite thick, so you have to try it first before buying if it is for your taste.
can't have enough of this watch no matter if it's for men or not, wish I could afford it !
It's stunning isn't it!
These are beautiful, finishing in on par, if not better to Rolex, plus you get a lovely caseback. Have both. It wears really well, have the tubber strap and fabric strap w deployant.
Sadly a pass for me.
Pano date is way too big. The 39.5 has no sapphire caseback, no solid gold rotor, little power reserve, and costs way too much for what you get.
Same style of numbers as my San Martin :)
I am surprised you did not review the 39.5 version. My only quibble with that is not being able to see that sweet movement, and if I had a choice I'd make it 40mm even. I've seen the SeaQs in the display case in Vegas and they did not disappoint. I think picking them up slightly used is a good idea though, as stated.
I'm biased but I love Glashütte. Just so well finished.
Here is what I love about my 7 year old submariner...
1. The price and the obvious high quality of the internal movement and the exterior finish
2. Accuracy of +/- 2 seconds per day. Compare the accuracy to anything else out there.
3. Magnified date window. Love it!
4. 40 mm and feels incredibly well balanced on the wrist
All other similar looking watches strive to be a Submariner. There is a reason that there is a wait list and price appreciation for a sub. I'd rather buy a used sub than other look alikes. These are classic collectibles that are copied but never matched.
This didn't sound like a response to Rolex Sub. More like please don't beat me down with your waiting lists, availability, and over-the-moon premiums. I'm not even talking about the iconically timeless Submariner design.
Could you also add reliability and service costs to your watch reviews. These topics don't get mentioned by any reviewers. The cost to own is the most important factor for a large purchase. It's always included in car reviews and these watches are also very expensive.
I tried it on and it's an amazing looking watch in person. I also saw the Serenade Luna (new 2024 release) which to me beats any Cartier ladies watch (these are jewerly not watches IMO). It is stunning and I will be picking it up for my significant other. Please review that one if you get a chance.
I have both the sub and the GO and I like both
How does the marketshare look like for Glashytte in Germany and outside of Germany? Is this mostly popular in Germany?
The GO SeaQ is definitely better than the Submariner as a watch. Not as a marketing…. And there is a 39mm version which is the Goldilocks. And yes, the SeaQ Panorama Date is not for children!
Great content, Jenni! I would be happy if you could make a similar video about the other German brands, such as Zeppelin, Iron Annie, Bauhaus and Ruhla 1929, which are produced by the German company Pointtec, which are Germany's response to the Swiss and Japanese watches in affordable price range. I hope it is in your near future plans to make some content about these great watches as well.
My absolute favourite GO release. Unfortunately way too expensive in my market. I’m in Australia and it retails for $20,350AU. By the way, that’s just for the Stainless Steel blue dial… That’s nearly 1/3 my yearly income! Not even an option to save for to be honest. I just can’t justify a third of my annual income on a watch that will go into an extensive collection 🤷♂️
Mate you can pick up a year old one in oz for 13 k used! Problem is the crap 2 year warranty will be gonsky after a year…shame , great piece
@@Leftystrat your point about the warranty is a strong one. Buying a used S class without warranty...
A German beauty! Looks awesome.
Hard to believe the submariner has more of a ‘refined feel to it’
She lost all credibility with that.... I own both and that is crazy
Anyone has ever visit Glashutte in Germany? I've read they're almost no guided visiting to the watch makers.
I've been there and you'd have to chat to the watch makers / brands directly if you wanted to go on tours through the facilities etc. 🙌🏻
@@JenniElle Thank you!
Hmmm.. so basically buy it at retail only if u have money to 🔥 ..
If you have a 7.5 inch wrist this is the perfect size. You can buy a Longines Conquest for a third of the cost that looks almost identical to this.
Is the rubber strap have an internal metal band similar to the oysterflex for safety feature? Love the standby hrs she has.😅❤
I think I am nit-picking, but the Big Date version is too big. The 40mm version does not have crown guard which bothers me more than it should.
I have the gold-steel version… that dial….
I like the date it is a nice watch.
Looks very nice but same time it also looks like a CoLAB - Airain Sous-Marine
I really don't like the minute hand, or the logo on the tail of the second hand. Otherwise nice watch, and I am a fan of the brand.
Those are great .
How is the lume? Is there any on the ceramic bezel?
Lume is great, blue and long lasting
@@vijaymehra1101 Thank you!
I thought the panomatic lunar is the most popular.
Je cherche une belle montre à m'offrir et c'est finalement vous qui me faites de l'œil tellement je vous trouve bien. La vie est mal faite parfois. Bien à vous Jenni
27K. Not in this life time when a Royal oak costs less
$13,500 in steel, generally available at discount from an AD and even lower pricepoint preowned. Becomes a real alternative to the Submariner at that point, and I say that as the owner of a 124060.
The 39.5 GO SeaQ with the traditional date size would have been a much more appropriate model to compare to the Submariner. Unfortunately by selecting the SeaQ Panomatic Date you're comparing apples to oranges.
More comparable in size to a Sea-Dweller.
Endlich!!!
Why didn’t you reviewed the 39mm? You wouldn’t had any dislike points! And it is the widely more popular size!
Amazing watch. Pity the thickness makes it unwearable for clumsy people like me (and people who own shirts)
I wanna like it but I am just not into that dial.
The Glashütte is too thick and uses silicon hairspring that can't be adjusted compared to the Submariner.
It does not need adjustment, at least mine runs just on time
I'll stick with The BALTIC AQUASCAPHE CLASSIC BLACK SILVER
The thickness of the GO makes it undesirable in my opinion
This watch is a wall clock 😂
If you have small wrists, it will still fit well
i cant get past the minute hand looks like it belongs on a ko ko clock
Date should be at 6.
GO makes beautiful watches, unfortunately for men almost all of them way too big. Only sixties collection without date is 39 mm, otherwise everything is larger. For dress watches it is too much.
get a bigger wrist
thick as a brick it is.
The SeaQ is objectively higher quality than a Rolex Submariner. Whats better for you really depends on what you value in your watches.
I will say germany response to submariner when a brand will propose more than the rolex for less than rolex, mainwhile they propose something mkre expensive or the same is not the good response at my eyes...omega 50% less expensive than rolex will be the good response for exemple...dont you think?
Not nearly as durable, as the Rolex.
Zu gross fur mich (if I recall my High School German correctly). I might be in on a 39mm - but not 43.5. Good vid. Keep at it!
Absolutely shits on the submariner
It looks like a Hamilton.
Not my fave GO im more of a panomaticlunar type of guy.
I guess you could only get this example for review but the bracelet is as good as anything at any price from any brand. Hand finishing vs machine should be a no brainer so if you think the Rolex is more refined you lost me with that assessment. I own both and the only thing the Rolex has over the GO is the bezel action and you need to be living under a rock not to know Rolex is the King of Dive bezel feel. You totally ignored movement specifications that favor the GO so is this really a comparison ?
Brilliant brand ,far better than Rolex ,thanks ❤️🏴👍
Why is it so bigggg 😭
I would take GO over Rolex any day. And have several times.
What’s your instagram, I’d like to see if this is true.
Around 2:05 you're saying that the panaroma date window is between 5 and 6. I'd say between 4 and 5. Did you have a brain glitch you confused german way of telling time (halb fünf) and translated it to english? ;)
Sacrilege to mash-up Submariner with Explorer!
Glashutte es superior, rolex es una marca sobrevalorada que no va acordar a su calidad
IT’S BAD! 👈🏻 🥴
this over rolex anyday
That logo is so ugly
Looks like a fashion watch, terrible design, it’s a joke think that can compete with a sub
Rolex re-response: None
Blancpain response: SUE.
