This was filmed in the Arboritum at Chiswick House in West London. The Jam had the photo shoot for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS done here too. I think it is fair to say though that both of these likely took place there because of Weller's love for THE BEATLES as the classic PAPERBACK WRITER and RAIN videos were filmed here in 1966.
I went to Chiswick Grammar School and was actually at school the day The Beatles filmed those two videos, just got back from a trip to Liverpool and did the Magical Mystery Bus tour and went to the Cavern! Paul Weller is still one of the coolest guys on the planet!
Good work Mart. This is so dayum good. I haven't seen Weller live probably since Stanley Road was released but forgot just how damn good he sounds live. Hope you're good. 10 years and mods will be the absolute height of fashion again!
@@TheMusicalElitist When Weller's song was released I was a longstanding ELO fan. It was obvious Weller had nicked the riff (and possibly Jeff Lynne had to a lesser extent nicked it from 'Dear Prudence') from '10538 Overture'. It's not as if he doesn't have form, such as 'Start!' and 'A Town Called Malice'. There is no clear line between influence and plagiarism, as many a judge has declared, so it's a matter of opinion.
When I first heard this on the radio back in 1995, I thought "Hang on, where have I heard that same riff played with that guitar tone?" and "Does this guy have a history of nicking riffs without acknowledging or paying royalties?".
It's an Epiphone Casino, a really great guitar if you like hollow bodies, and has some stellar P-90 growl . Epiphone has been owned by Gibson since 1957 and they have produced some iconic guitar models. The Casino was used heavily by The Beatles during their career. John Lee Hooker preferred an Epiphone Sheraton over Gibsons.

Desde mi punto de vista la mejor banda. Con los miembros de Ocean Colour Scene . Genial.
openly said when this first came out that he took the riff from ELO, its called influence.
plagiarism
@@johno4521 how?
@@TheMusicalElitist It is the riff from ELO's first single 10538 Overture, which itself was borrowed from The Beatles' Dear Prudence.
@@RebeccaTurner-ny1xxNot plagiarism at all.
Moreover, so many artists have been doing it for decades.
Stop trying to sound clever

Epiphone Casino
sounds like ELOs Overtune song go and listen to this on you tube now
I think Paul Weller must be an E.L.O fan . It sounds remarkably the same.
I heard he sampled it , which doesn't explain how he can get exactly the same sound 'live'....
@@johno4521 How do you exist even though you’re such a cretin?
those plants could do with a drink.
I wonder if Weller actually originated that look before the Gallagher brothers or the other way around.
To be fair the Gallaghers never really originated anything
@@Harpdashian Ooooh, harsh. But true.
You can't be serious!

LOL at everyone who thinks ELO's 10538 Overture was called "Overtune".
Actually, Not exactly like ELO + feeling is much more soulful
sounds like ELOs Overtune song he ripped off ELOs
Piss off, troll.
As expected from a youngster, when you reach 16 you'll grow up (hopefully)
Rip off of ELOs Overtune song
You like Wham. Fuck off.
