I’m sorry. Not a good review. You want everything luxury in a mid size OFF ROAD capable truck? It’s not a Ford Raptor worth $100k. Your buying a truck that is super reliable and is tested over and over again. And careful what you wish for when you say turbo for the engine. The new Ranger is a Turbo and it sucks.
I got the manual gearbox TRD pro in February and my smile keeps getting bigger! The tires are ok. Confidence fell quickly on ice and slush. It did well in deep snow and ripping over snow drifts. Confidence fell a lot when the dirt gets wet and muddy. The tires don’t shed mud very well. Definitely upgrade the tires if you plan on off-roading! The tires that come on it are great when the trails are dry
Thanks for watching and congrats on your TRD Pro. I think I would’ve loved the Tacoma more if it were the manual model. The auto transmission just felt really outdated. Glad to hear my assumptions of the tires were correct and that just gives an excuse to buying new wheels and tires lol. Of course I gotta ask what color did you go with?
Thanks for watching. Did you go with lunar rock? We only need the heated seats for the couple of cold days we get in Texas and well last winter’s crazy snow storm lol
It was going to take from 3 to 6 months for the lunar rock to get delivered because of the pandemic so I went with metallic grey but lunar rock was definitely my first choice
@@ramonbencosme5742 my parents are from Nicaragua and when I went on vacation there, it was diesel and manual heaven. There were Hilux everywhere we went. I think it would be awesome to have that option in the US!
Thanks for watching! No worries! It's always important for me to make sure my kiddo enjoys riding with me. The Tacoma was a bit snug in the back for bigger kid seats.
I'm buying the 2022 Tacoma Off-Road and the last thing I want in it is an engine with forced induction, once that turbo blows it'll be like pushing a mule up a hill not to mention expensive to repair and it makes engines die quickly. Like I said I'm buying a Toyota and not the Ford Ranger or Ford Bronco precisely because it does not have the twin turbo EcoBoost engine. Toyotas are tough, reliable, and hold there value better than any other truck, my son just sold his 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 for just under 30k and will use that to buy the 2022 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road.
Thanks for watching. It was just a thought but after having more time to think about it, I think the transmission and/or its programming is more of the issue. When I did go into 4LO, the power felt good. The crazy thing is that I did mention many things that can be fixed, but I still want one and miss that truck lol. What color are you going with?
Nothing wrong with rear drum brakes. Why complain? Also you are reviewing a truck and it is not a fancy car, so gauges are real and it runs and works. I have Five Toyotas (4 are trucks) that are made in 1990 and on and all are running 100% even the AC. Toyota knows what they are doing.
Thanks for watching. Discs outperform drums. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the Taco but it’s not bad for wanting more from Toyota. Do I foresee some of my requests coming next gen? I think so as the Tundra is already hinting at them. We’re actually considering an almost all Toyota lineup for my family. I’m wanting the FR86 and the Tundra (need higher towing) while my wife is on the fence between a Camry hybrid, 4Runner, or RAV4 Prime. Thanks again for watching. Also what 4 Toyota trucks do you have? When I was filming this review I wish I had the cameras running to capture this super clean first gen in that awesome teal color they came in.
1) If you can find that much wrong with this truck after buying it, trade it for something else instead of whining about it, why would “YOU” buy it to start with? 2) This is a truck, not a sports car so it’s not going to have certain things and not going to be a speed demon, like say running the quarter mile in 4 seconds. I’ve driven the TRD and plan on buy one and unlike so many that find something wrong with the automatic transmission, I thought it did well even though I would like to have the manual.3) The drum brakes have always worked and still work well on the rear, even though most others have rear disc. 90% of your stopping power and is on the front so disc brakes have been great ever since they came out in the 60’s, and yes, disc brakes are great, like I said, but the drum brakes still work. The turbo engines in the new 2024 trucks I think we’ll see problems with them, you just don’t get the mileage out of most turbo engines like naturally aspirated engines and Tacoma’s have given people 3 & 4 hundred thousand miles in the past. Doing away with the V-8 in the Tundra was a huge mistake and that will show as well in the long run.
Add stuff , add the price . Stop asking for more you media car tester, you dont buy it., get rid of stupid tech and lower the price. I dont care i have my tacoma and for long time but for futur buyers.

I got my 2021 TRD pro last year and no complaints I love my truck and specially for the New England winter heater sets and mirrors 👍🏽

And now Toyota is showing metallic gray as unavailable lol
@@Revmatchmedia I’m hopping for Toyota to bring the hilux to the states in a diesel it will be a game changer 👌🏾

2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road in Lunar Rock.
Lunar rock is so nice. What do you think about the new electric lime color?

Yes. Drums easy to repair and replace and cost effective.
This is the best truck ever!
It is such a great truck. I kinda miss it lol. Thanks for watching!
I will be buy 2022 Tacoma Trd pro but you cant really find one here in New York.
I don’t believe they’re out yet because their site isn’t giving the option for 2021. I do have a truck event in October and they may have the 2022.
What is that weird sound effect on your background🤦🏻♂️
Bad review.

You complain way too much. Its a truck! More gizmos will just break. A truck needs to be durable. You want fancy crap, buy a luxury car. Geez. Smh.
