It’s so annoying. It’s the same story. Bad guy turns bad. Then randomly decides they don’t want to be bad anymore after doing horrible things. Screw redemption arcs. Stick with it Disney

I original Grievous from the 2003 clone wars cartoon was so awesome. He terrified the Jedi because he was pretty much unstoppable killing Jedi with ease.

Imagine if they replaced Reva with Barriss. Barriss originally went against the Jedi because she thought they were falling to the dark side and becoming an army fighting for evil. As an Inquisitor she was fighting for what she was against the Jedi becoming. I feel like it would make more sense if Barriss turned back because of Obi-Wan.

The only “hero to villain” we really ever see in film is Count Dooku. There is potential for a General Grevious Arch about his time as a warrior and why he hates the Jedi, that could go so hard. You also got potential for an Assajj Ventress arch when she turned to the dark side. (I’d let that “redemption” character slide). There is also room for a maul arch, that dives into the introduction of Palpatine and maul, probably throwing in the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise. Do a spin-off based off the DeathTrooper novel. There is a reason episode 3 is so well received and that is because it is dark and does not appear to hold back on it. Let’s see how Palpatine manipulated these characters and how it was all a part of his grand plan. But what I see if they are doubling down on their efforts for damage control on the Rey trilogy so that the fan base will look at those as part of the true films and not the staple of Disneys failure to it’s entire fanbase. But they will keep lightly sprinkling those stores in (like Dooku’s arch from tales of the Jedi) to keep us watching it all and not entirely give up.
All roads don’t lead to Ashoka it leads to Rise of Skywalker. The Mandolorian and force sensitive Cloning , Bad batch referenced female clones who were force sensitive (Rey is Palpatines clone not granddaughter?). Ashoka going out the galaxy. Now Barris hinting towards force healing. Note how Barris was being called a healer not a monk after helping the Jedi chick on the mountain. Then purposely let herself get stabbed in the lower abdomen just to cover it up almost as if she is force healing. She is going to show up in the second part of Ashoka due to someone being on the verge of death and show force healing because she found it “naturally”, which will lead to the domino effect of it being taught from Barris to Ashoka then her to Ezra and so on until Luke. I bet it’s all damage control to make Rise of Skywalker look favorable and basically setting up Palpatines return to be impactful as order 66 in revenge of the Sith.

Tales of The Empire was garbage. I mean wtf? Where was the stories about the Empire??? I wanted tales of the Empire not tales about something else that's not the Empire. The closest to the Empire we got was the Inquisitors. And not even those episodes where very good. Tales of the Jedi was amazing every episode was good. And 2003 Clone Wars Grievous was a absolute badass lol. He had no problem fighting (and winning) against multiple Jedi at once. He was pretty much unstoppable. It's a shame we never got to see anymore of that version of him 😢.

i didn't even think Barriss had a character arc... it's just Barriss being Barriss... she betray the jedi because she thought that the jedi lost their way... violence is what she didn't like and being inquisitor is a bad idea to avoid violence... so i think the story is just mid, it's not bad... just okay
i think she was only a bad guy turn to good guy because she hold her principal.

The "full send" story of dark side conviction you're talking about was Dooku in Tales of the Jedi. Dark, and no turn back. So it's been told before. It's not like we've never gotten that. Also, the point of these stories is to illustrate (primarily to kids) that you can do bad things, but you always have the choice to correct yourself and be a good person. People can be redeemed with self realization, empathy, love, family, and all of those other light-side themes. Yeah, it's cool to see dark side users mess people up, but that theme that I just mentioned is what Star Wars is about. And that's what both Dave and George want(ed) to show people.

Some of the stuff thst he's come up with recently is mild
If Dave can find a way to conjure up some stuff that's really good like some of his good ol' Clone Wars magic from back in the day or maybe look at some suggestions from the fans, then I'd be happy
Also need to work on getting better writers and such

One could argue we’ve also seen plenty of the bad guys in Star Wars just staying being bad guys 🤷🏼 I do agree that Barriss’s ending wasn’t exactly what I would’ve liked it to be but let’s not act like the villains being villains for the sake of being villains isn’t an overused trope either

Villains being introduced as villains and staying villains is a thing in every story, Star Wars or not. But committing to someone turning villain and STAYING villain, isn’t common in Star Wars.

Reva, Crosshair, Iden, Kylo, Trilla, Cassian, and now Barriss all followed the same trope. In the final act they all turn back to the good side. I get what you’re saying but villains being villains is something every conflict needs heroes becoming villains and staying villains is so rare in Star Wars. Just like death in Star Wars 😂
