In this video, I'll teach you how to understand what is called the four square pricing method in the car business. Car dealers typically get a bad rap and rip people off while using this rather old school way to present pricing and sell a car, however, there are still a lot of dealerships that still do this. The best way to avoid this and getting ripped off is to make sure you have a real understanding of how this method works which isn't hard. Next, you will want to find a dealership that prints out the pricing and payments on a proposal form. This won't eliminate the numbers be inflated however they are harder to fake when they aren't drawn on a piece of paper with a marker. This isn't a jab at car dealers out there as you do deserve to make a profit. This is an educational video so that car buyers understand how both sides of the process work.

One Ford dealership used the 4 Square on me when I wanted to trade in my 2019 Kia Forte EX launch edition for their 2019 Ford Fusion Sport ($32,420 price of vehicle). Basically, they tried to get me to finance it for $1,000-1,200 per month 72 months with ~$2,500 down and $11,000 trade in value (there's negative equity since I owed ~$22,000). The trade in value was incredibly low compared to the KBB quotes or other trade in value resources.
Nothing made sense... They didn't even have the APR interest rate. Worse experience I've had.
