I'm excited lol, I just ordered one. I was torn between this and the silhouette cameo 4. Unfortunately silhouette didn't have coupons I could find and didn't offer after pay. I saved $95 on the everything bundle. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm new to all of this but crafting is my thing!
Yay! I'm first! I'm definately addicted to my cricut. I have a explore air 2. I'm on the fence to upgrade to the maker series. So far I have been happy with my explore 2 and rarely think I wish I had the maker. I was so happy to learn that the blades havnt changed. Does that mean the pens didn't change too? I only worry that accessories for the cricut Will be harder to find with the new 3 series if they have changed. Love you! Love design bundles, love all things cricut and crafty! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Stacey! Thank you so much for your kind words! Honestly, if you are happy with your Explore Air 2, there are not very many things that you would want to upgrade for --- mainly the rotary blade and the knife tool, and I have used these very few times. As far as I can tell, all the tools will still be compatible with the new machines. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Great video, it’s similar to the Explore Air ( just a tad bit updated) Sooo can you still update your machine in using Bluetooth after you have used it?
I just bought a Maker 3 and hadn't opened it yet. Your video was awesome so I know what to expect. I can't believe there's no mat 😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬 this is my first Cricut, so I need to buy a mat to even test cut. Again thanks for AWESOME content.
The Maker 3 comes with a piece of smart material to test it out. You don't need a mat, but you might need the mat to use it with non-smart materials.Hope that helps
Hey Genette, I personally believe if you are buying a new machine, go with the most versatile model which at this time will be the Cricut Maker 3. However, really all of the Maker and Explore Air models will be perfectly fine, I have very rarely used any of the additional tools (rotary and knife blade). Hope this helps! ---Becky
How does the silhouette compare to Cricut maker 3? I had a Cricut maker and had tons of issues. Last issue was stopping in the middle of a job and not being able to resume. Cricut basically told me that I needed a new machine. Ugh.
Hey Sheila! I'm surprised to hear your trouble with the Maker, I can fortunately report that my original Maker has bee great. If you are already using a Cameo 4, then the Maker and Maker 3 are not going to offer you any additional options. Also, you'll find Cricut Design Space very limited compared to what you are used to in Silhouette Studio. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles I have not used a cameo before. I’ve only used Cricut machines. I purchased the explore 3. Had the same issue with stopping in the middle of a job. They had me uninstall design space and reinstall again. Seems to be working ok now. But I can’t do as much with this machine.
Does it have a different power cord? You will need a power source in order to turn the machine on. However if you are referring to the cord that connects to your computer, you should be able to use it with Bluetooth if your computer has that capability. - Brittany
Hi I just got a maker, I was under the impression that if it could only come in silver that I had the last maker available. What is the difference between maker and maker 3?
Beautiful machine nothing Cameo 4 doesn't have don't get me wrong I hace a Maker and a Cameo 4. I'll wait until December hoping for more attractive colors for the 3
Hi there! The backing of the smart vinyl is thicker making it more sturdy to run through the machine and cut without the mat. If you used regular vinyl, I don't believe it will cut successfully. - Dawn
@@DesignBundles thanks for actually answering my question!! That makes sense and it answered my next question as to what makes the Smart Vinyl so different. I JUST ordered a Maker 3 and needed to know all what I needed for it. I order a giant roll of the stencil vinyl, several mats, but also didn’t know if I’d need the roll attachment cutter as well. It looks like it would be handy to have, but apparently not for the regular vinyl I ordered and Idk if I will be purchasing any of their brand of Smart Materials yet.
Hi there! Are you referring to the back of the adhesive vinyl? That would remain on the vinyl until after cutting. Then, you can weed your design and use your transfer paper to adhere it to the craft you are working on! If you have any questions, just let us know! - Dawn 🥰
What am I doing wrong? I just purchased and received the Explorer 3 and I tried to cut out a simple stencil on the Smart Vinyl BUT I could not get the letters off the backing. I t appeared that the letters were only scored and not actually cut the whole way through?! I wasted so much material today trying to print a simple word.. the blade seems SHARP!! what could I be doing wrong? HELP LOL
Hey Veronica, this is a tough question for me. I love Silhouette Studio and use it daily for all different aspects of crafting. However, I do love the Cricut machines for cutting, although their software is very limiting. It's a tough call for sure. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Introducing the Cricut mat support. Helps your mat stay level, and prevents it from falling (after pressing finish or if you cancel and it ejects the mat) or bending downward. This eases downward pressure from your mat and prevents your material from unsticking during use. Check out our video to learn more. ua-cam.com/video/QNMFo4kfRhs/v-deo.html
Not only did you not get a mat, you also did not get any tools to go with it. So for a beginner they would have to go and buy them before making anything.
@@True_Joker did you purchase it with a bundle? If the machine requires you to use a mat and tools on MOST of their materials, it should at least come with one mat and one weeding tool and squeegee ESPECIALLY if you’re paying almost $400 for the machine!!
