Wait, I've been up to the highpoint of the ridgeline (between Deadman's Dome and "Sky Island"). I approached it from the Boynton Canyon side just by following an AllTrails route that leads up to just below the highpoint and then deviated from that route to hit the highpoint with what shouldn't have been anything beyond Class 3, because that's all I was comfortable with at the time. I've seen other videos of people getting up to "Sky Island" (which even I haven't done yet) and was surprised I haven't seen anyone else get to the highpoint of the ridge. I didn't know it was considered difficult.
Long Canyon trailhead. Head in about 3 miles and work your way out of the Canyon to the left (west). There is no trail. It isn't hard to figure out, especially if you are comfortable route finding and bush wacking.
Never apologize for backing off a summit on a solo hike! Don't be an idiot. Leave the camera at home for the first attempt and go get it. Bring the camera for the repeat. The first time doesn't count if you can't do it again.
Unfortunately I don't. You should go find it. If you want it bad enough you will find it. Go in long canyon about 4 miles and get off trail going west. Bushwhack and scramble your way to the low point of the wall.
After a look at Google Earth, It looks like if you continue on the ledge instead of heading up the break in the cliffs to 34.9294453,-111.8505755 and head up the ridge and to the summit of UN 5846, it could possibly work? Amazing views and drone footage from the first ridge!
As a Sedonan, this is a great video. Geologically informative and beautiful videos of a difficult hike. Thank you! ❤
Awesome video!
Awesome video and drone footage!
Thank you! That means a lot!
❤❤❤🎉😊 I love your videos from Jayden jaxson
Summit or not- fantastic day! The occasional plant induced flesh wound is inevitable. Congratulations on a great day and an enjoyable video. ✌🏻 😊

It is un 5846. It is not difficult. It is easy. In the video I attempted it from the east side for fun.
@@codiacstudios ah ok
Great hike, loved it. Consider perhaps all those layers came about 5000 years ago during the flood of Noah.
Or 180 million years ago?
@@jeffdana9402or from 5000 years ago and the Great Flood! 😜
More like 270,000,000- no mammals let alone humans.
This music goes good in this video ❤😂😮😅😊
Thank you sons!!!!!
Was looking at some maps, the only peak on that canyon divide was listed as 5848, not sure if i am looking at the correct ridge.
Yes! You are correct. I was hiking around 5848 which is just south of sky island.
Nicely done. Some parts of your down climb looked quite sketchy, drone shots amazing, what do you use for a drone?
I've used the DJI mini 2 up until now. I just purchased the mini 3 pro a couple days ago which is a nice upgrade.
Epic!
If you mentioned it in the video I missed it but where did you start this one?

Any chance you have a KML/GXP file or map of this route?

@@codiacstudiosThat's good advice. Thanks for the encouragement and tip! The views look incredible.
@jherman89 You will cry it is so beautiful

Exactly. I looked at Google earth after the hike. Sometimes I like to try to figure it out with out looking. I will have to go back sometime.
