- What do you do when visitors arrive from a nation that according to many represents the pinnacle of western food culture? Introduce them to mass produced Norwegian frozen pizza of course. This is the reaction. WARNING: He is not happy :-)
don't think most Norwegian would consider grandiosa as a "pizza" as such, it's its own thing, just grandiosa.

I think he is not entirely saying the truth as he keeps on eating them, slice by slice. Were those pizzas truly dreadful as he claims, why then did he keep eating them? I think Grandiosa from Norway is one of the best frozen pizzas in the world, alongside the ones sold by Coop in Denmark. All the best! Beste hilsener fra Romania!

25kr sale happenes regularily here in Trondheim. Only the plain one, but stores will almost rotate who has it at that price.
i had a friend buy some in Finland and insulated it for the trip to the USA. We ate the pizza in Tucson Az, USA. Probably the Westernmost Pizza Grandiosa in world history.

@@AndrewTubbiolo Probably never outside of Norway, but I live in SF and visit Norway twice a year to see family, so I figure I should be able to sneak a grandiosa over!
@@jlbmeister YES! That would be awesome. What we did was ship it in the winter. We set it outside at -40, then wrapped them in newspaper and plastic bags to insulate them. They were still plenty frozen on arrival to the US. Good luck!!!

A term I have for it is "Lefse med spy på". I.e a lefse (which is the norwegian version of a tortilla) with puke all over it. It used to be a cheap student food. It is kind of edible if you are blind drunk. I think. I do like lefse though, namely tjukklefse.

Grandiosa started to taste like nothing after they removed a lot of the salt in it(to make it "healthier"). You need to season it with pizza spice or salt.
I buy Grandiosa only when it cost less than 30 NOK. Else I prefer Dr. Oetker or Big One.
Living on Norway for 10 years not, i still don't get it! Its an absolutely tastless piece of hard bread drenched in oil with the cheapest scraps of meat and cheese imaginable. Putting a plain toast with with cheese and ketchup into the oven tastes A LOT better! Why do people do this?

Grandiosa wins in terms of the price range, coming in at about 30-40 NOK, whilst other brands can go from 40-75 NOK

Indeed Grandiosa is not the best, but come on, Italian pizza is extremely overrated! You guys should try Argentinean pizza which is based on the Italian one but perfected to a high degree of deliciousness.
Italians greatly overact and exaggerate the difference in pizza. They act like non Italian pizza is inedible. I have rarely eaten anything that is inedible.
Argentina pizza is way worse than napolitan or roman pizza, specially the one that has a soft crust
