I love your updates! This is so encouraging. Could you maybe post a video about how you made the right grades throughout your undergrad? I want to get my undergrad in biology and I'm so nervous about not getting the right grades.
I'm seriously considering going into optometry at that very school.....as I'm from AZ. I'm dying to learn more. Unfortunately I'd have to go back to school to do a couple years worth of science courses before I could even be eligible for optometry school, and I'm already 33. Lol.
Hey Tyler, My name is Tyler too and I went to CSU and majored in BMS class of 2016. I remember you from pre-optometry club and remember seeing you around campus! I just finished my OAT (350 TS) and have applied to the WICHE schools with a 3.9+ GPA. I've been working at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado full time for 1 1/2 years and I also have about 1,000 hours experience in an optometry clinic in Highlands Ranch. I am just waiting for interview offers from the 4 schools I applied to. I am curious about Midwestern as it is such a new school. What are the pros and cons? How are the professors? How do you feel the education is so far? I am somewhat hesitant because the other schools I have applied to have been around for many decades and have their reputations already. I just don't know a lot about Midwestern and what makes it great. Any insight from you would be GREATLY appreciate. I hope you are doing well! Tyler
hello there. i was just browsing around some videos about optometry in youtube and fortunately, found out yours exactly what i want to look for. thanks for your video and it really helps me a lot.yeah, i just got offer for optometry course and i am really happy and excited to further my study in this field. yeah, just wanna know, how old are you? lol
Hi tyler!!! im really looking into getting in the optometrist school im in Houston texas, so i would be going to UH campus im 25, just got my bachelors as Clinical Lab Scientist im kinda thinking.. is this to old to get into this optometrist program :S? im worried I would not be able to work while studying for this..
+blueberryxz I guess I'm confused by your question. As far as work goes, I would not suggest it during school since it can be very time consuming. Some students do a work-study program, but jobs that are supported by those programs are designed to not take up too much of your time.
I'm thinking of really going to University of Houston Downtown for optometry school. I just have a question, what does it take to be accepted? GPA ,rank, etc... It would really help a lot, thanks.
I don't personally. Most people I know don't but some people do a work study program where they can study at their job. Most of those are jobs like tech support or hosting study groups
Very awesome video! :) Btw, love the look of the campus!

+bendietrees There are some people in my class that are about that age as well. If you really want to do it, you'll make it happen!

+carlos valle take a look at my "grades it takes to get into optometry school" video
Do you have time to work during school at all? :)

How many years in total does it take to become an optometrist?
+carlos valle most schools require a bachelors degree to get into optometry school and optometry school itself is 4 years
+Tyler L so would it be more than 4 years to actually obtain the career itself?
Once you have completed ungrad, there are 4 more years of school
