I SO WISH And Hope For That. I Was Born and Raised In England, For the Early Years Of My Life., but I Have Always Enjoyed Listening To Country Music Aswell. 😅😂😘
I came to this country in 1958, I was 12 years old and orphaned. I had never heard what people call country music until then. Over the years something has happened. Things became cheap, easy, no sense of value. Our music has suffered the same way. The music, the songs that told stories about our lives, the things we hold dear, the adventures, and the losses, have faded and it's not about the song, the story, it's about special effects, just plain noise. I listen to the "old" country because it's the only one that exists for me.
Ricky Vans song "I'll leave this world loving you" has been going through my head all day. I had forgotten what good Country Music sounded like. Love this guy
Dear Ricky, I can understand you wanting time out with your family, and admire you for it, but oh boy don't we miss you. There are very few voices like yours. Thank God we have records :)
One of the greatest country music voices of all time! What a gift this artist has. I do remember that Marty Robbins did this song after Ricky did and M.R. got more radio time because of his notoriety. That was just B.S. in my opinion because Ricky sings song 100 times better!
Agree. I've seen him 6 times in concert. Never sorry. Got hugs everytime and autographs . Would go see him again and again if he was still singing. My favorite singer and looker!!!!
One of my favorite singers. I missed my chance to see him at the Jasper Rodeo, in Texas. I had already booked the next night and couldn't go two nights in a row. Just after, he announced that he wouldn't be performing any more.
One of the BEST REAL COUNTRY SINGERS TO GRACE THE COMUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME. LOVE U STILL RFS!!! Make a great come back for all your fans PLEASE!!!!!
Ricky VanShelton and George Strait are the two BY-FAR BEST country music artists to ever step foot on any stage. His twenty-year career was FOR US WHO LOVED HIM AND HIS MUSIC was way too short. I hope and pray his life has been everything he could have wanted it to be.
I have not walked yet you will see my life means more to me than bullshit when its done its done you cant change the way i feel this hss been a year still same shit reality am doing thid to me when i dont have t to am done talking
Sandra Miller. That is so easy to believe and I wholeheartedly believe this is true of him. I just found this video about a week ago, and I have played it several times during the day for approximately the past week. I Love this guy, wish I had come across him and his videos much sooner. ❤️ 🌹 👍 🌹 ❤️ 🌹 👍 ❤️ 🌹
I was so fortunate to see this man in person when he played a concert in 1989 and it was worth every penny. He was and still is a great performer and I absolutely loved his voice. I cried when he announced he was retiring from touring. I think he wrote a couple of children's books. Anyway he is happy on his acreage but I still miss his singing.
This song hits so close to home. When Ricky sings it (after a couple of longnecks) it puts a lump in my throat just like someone is peeling onions nearby. Can't help it. Its as if when he is singing with such feeling its like he's reaching into your soul and squeezing your heartstrings. He is a wonderful singer and I wish he sang more. He may have had is reasons for stepping outside the limelight - but there isn't a day that goes by that someone plays Ricky Van Shelton & Patsy Cline on the jukebox.
The first recording of the song that I know about was Jack Green in 1969. David Ruffin' recorded the song around 1975. And honestly the best version of it I've heard yet is Van Shelton. I hate the phrasing on Ruffin's version it sounds like bad Sinatra. I listen to Bill Medley's version hoping that it might be worthy competition because he is a great singer, but it wasn't one of Bill's better recordings.
@@jerryweller7011 I agree with you! I first heard Jack Green's version on the radio several years ago and just liked the song. After looking it up, I listened to David Ruffin's version but it wasn't very good (imo) and then I came across this version and it just sounded much better.
RVS is the real king when you actually listen to his voice compared to other wonderful artists. He’s just gifted above the rest. Love to hear him sing he has a passion for music that of only of true legend. 🙏
I no that this man can sing and I enjoy the words to his songs i can listen to him always it is really hard not to listen to him and I wish I could find his cds I would listen to them every day. His voice is something else God bless him
This is a great version of the Jack Greene single. I like it so much better, because Ricky Van Shelton really has a fantastic voice! Thank you for uploading and sharing!
Ricky van Shelton was one of the best country music singers ever to hit the stage, I wish he had not retired and continued to put out real country music but if the man is happy doing what he’s doing now I am glad for him
Country music traditionally did something no other genre could do… the writer could wrap the listener in a storyline and deliver the hook that would drop your jaw bcz you never saw it coming and they delivered it without coming right out and saying it. It was understood. Nashville has seemingly lost that ability and sold their souls to pop for some bastardized version that this generation sees as acceptable on multiple genres of radio. It’s a money grab and the fans are paying the price and missing out on what a gift country music USED to be.
I agree the stuff you hear now days is not country music. I prefer the older country music to this day.❤😊
@@shirleyforwood6690 So do I.

It's safe to say, this song will never be covered by another. Nobody could ever come close to doing it justice, after this masterpiece.

Sorry Jack Green did way before Ricky
Last of the real country singers. He was carved in stone from the past.
I want this song played at my funeral!

He went on to sing christian music.

Ain't that the truth, he's a very good country singer, he has my vote and respect.
I could listen to this song and his voice 24hrs a day and I'd never get tired of it. Greatest talent ever!
