Thanks for visiting this mall. Another great video. The old pet shop you mentioned is located on level 1, right next to the restroom. You passed by it at 20:19. The shop was packed with items, making it quite narrow to walk inside. Outside the shop, there are posters displaying various dog and cat breeds. As a child, I used to be fascinated by these posters, spending a lot of time looking at and comparing the different breeds.

When I was young, I stayed in Toa Payoh. My dad brought me to Thomson Plaza before. I was very young, cannot remember much. I moved to Bukit Batok and live here for 40 years. Have not been to Thomson Plaza since then. No specific purpose to shop there. This episode on Thomson Plaza brings back the memory - dad & me go kai kai. Thanks for exploring this mall. Now that I see there's nice shops there, I will go explore the mall one day and 🦪🍷

You are right, before the convenience of MRT and also the other malls built, Thomson Plaza is what most people from Serangoon Garden, Seletar, Toa Payoh, Hougang, Ang Mo Kio goes to Thompson Plaza for their date in secondary or pre-university days. Swenson is the place to bring a date, the chocolate sundae together with their Spaghetti or Chicken Salad Plate was their popular dish. All the other place have emporium. Thomson Plaza was little "atas" for Oriental Emporium in Toa Payoh or Ang Mo Kio. So that is why most people in the 50s or early 60s remember this place.
