An example of this is in Anime/Manga and American comics A lot of the greatest anime/manga and American comics in the past were created by people who actually didn't grow up reading or watching anime/manga/ comics. They were the pioneers. Same goes for gaming. A lot of these people grew up during WW2, Cold war, etc They seen some shit. And that directly had an impact on their creative efforts in a positive way They actually touched grass. They drew or animated or wrote what they saw: actual people and actual experiences. Now, videos games are made by forever alones, weebs, Anime/manga are made by Otaku/Kikkinori (literally "shut in" someone who never leaves the house), people who barely have actual experience with other people. Games and American comics and now movies tied to those IPs are being made by fake political activists etc. So we get a lot of crap.
The industry is too obsessed with incorporating DEI into their games. And Paris Lilly being one of those positivity merchants you were talking about just expect everyone to be happy about everything.

I dont think the creativity is gone, i just think the people funding the projects/games dont want to take risks anymore, so they look to fortnite and CoD and just say "lets do a mix of that" and then you get overwatch 2 or something. That and the fact that making single player games takes way too much time and costs a lot of money, money that you may not even earn back. Whereas with multiplayer games, it takes way less time and the money making potential is huge if done right.
Imma be real, warhammer 40k space marine 2 will not be only the GOTY for me but the game that all gamers needs. It’s the type of game that made me love gaming during the ps3 era of games. A badass single player campaign, 6v6 multiplayer, and co op. And in order to level up you get everything by playing the game instead of some fortnite battle pass BS. I pray this game becomes a smashing hit so devs and publishers can see this success and fall back into this design of game.

I'm 43 started playing on commodore plus-4, c64, nes, most of those games were trash let's be real. I really enjoy the quality of games these days. The Yakuza series by itself is a lot of gaming. And you still can play indie games that look like the oldies, so nothing to complain.

Dude ive literally been only playing games from the 2000-2018 era. I said i was NEVER gona buy another modern day game. I got Colisto Proticol that was good. But I f'd myself i got AC Mirage and that had to be THE WORST AC i have ever played in my life. Basim from Mirage had NO connection with the Animus. showed no tie in with Valhalla and Seigurd, the entire game has nothing to do with the Isu or being an Assassin. The entire Assassin training was via cutscene. youd think the game wouldve ended with him meeting Sigurd or something. The same old spam RB wacking away at the guy 100 times til they die. No reversal counter kills like in AC1-Syndicate. I AM DONE buying Modern Day GAYMES. The UA-cam Channel Andy Pants has alot of good pointers on games. Personally if I was designing a game I'd make one where if you shoot them in the heart they die realistically with the single shot, if you shoot them in the leg they limp behind cover and hold there hand on it to stop the bleeding. or if you shoot them in the arm they drop the gun and pick up the gun with their other hand. and are just super realistic and it's the same for you. So the game is a bit slower and more careful but all it takes is one bullet in the wrong place.
New tech always pushed the industry forward but now with PS5, we are literally still playing PS4 games. PS5 generation is seriously the least innovative and I'm afraid it's not gonna get better anytime soon because so many games are failing looks like we are about to be in a gaming recession.
As much as ppl give this game shit, I give all the credit in the world to Kojima for Death Stranding. Everything about that game is new and fresh. If people actually gave it a genuine shot I’m sure they’d love it.

I've recently been in a gaming slump myself and there's nothing that's been catching my interest other than hogwarts legacy when that came out and bg3. There are still good games out there but I have found myself becoming more and more picky about what I play.
Look at Star Wars Outlaws… Journalists are giving this unfinished broken mess 10 out of 10, 9 out of 10 on Meta. How the F is that even possible?!? “Oh, we don’t want to hurt the feelings of these developers with hard valid criticisms, we applaud their shtty work”. So what’s going to happen with their next games? Well they’re going to continue their shtty work and fix some, not all, problems with updates. Like in what the F of a world are we living in? LaLaLand? Rainbow City? Bambi and the Seven Ducks Productions? Criticism pushes developers to do better! So be honest about your reviews and let them feel that this ain’t the way of pushing developers to perfect their games. Best way to let them feel something is not to buy their products. Never bought an Ubisoft game in my 44 years of existing and never will.
One thing I've learned is it's not our generation anymore, they catered to us when it was but it's not anymore. They don't care about all the complaints online, they don't care about your life struggles. They only care about what will be the next big sensation, money talks not opinions unfortunately.

Things like Dying Light 2, every GAAS game and every copy/paste game with zero attempt at innovation. The politics gotta go too.
The most enjoyment I’m getting these days is playing these remakes of the games I loved when I was younger. It’s a sign of the times. Everything is being remade because there’s nothing new that’s good. I probably buy 2 games a year … and then play them a year later.

Gaming has been pretty stale with a good one here & there in rare occasions. I find myself staring at my games more n more lately trying to figure out what to play or be interested genuinely interested in a game. Black Myth has me right now but after that I don't see anything grabbing me & keeping me interested. COD has gotten way worse with cheating on all sides & their trash anti cheat amongst loads of other issues.
The rush to 4k and the need to nickel and dime gamers has really done a number on gaming. THe way it is now its best to wait till the end of a consoles lifetime to get those 8 exclusive bangers (hopefully) or just game on a PC and Switch and go back catalog. Ray Tracing and all that crap is too hard for current gen to hit, and the pro will be upscaling from 1080p or 720p to hit 4k which just goes to show how in a rush they were to slam 4k down our throats. We will never have a SNES / Genesis / PS2 / 360 type experience ever again where games arrives polished and complete with a variety of excellent titles to play. And they didn't have to sell 20 million just o break even either.

Gaming isn’t what it used to be. I used to play my Xbox 10hrs a day now I barely play 10hrs a week. Last game I actually enjoyed was Resident Evil Village. I beat it about 7-8 times. Right now I’m just coasting through life waiting on GTA6.
Games are getting more and more expensive to produce, meaning they take longer and longer to actually publish. So we're just left in the desert, with only remakes of 10+ year old titles, or copy-pasted garbage like CoD, Madden, AC, 2K, etc. being released. Then on the multiplayer component, you have manipulative matchmaking, designed off of data developers monitor, designated to keep-players engaged forever like it's fucking Heroin Hero in South Park.
Remember when you put cod cds and boot up right into the mutiplayer menu and hit play core tdm and boom you're already in a match, now is sit there have a drink, eat and wait till you get sorted into a lobby then starts selecting then the loading then the character cut scene to the match then the countdown is like wtf goddammit let me play the game, plus the 300gb updates every two weeks like cmon man. Online games have become a job, with the pass and all of this bs crap. LET ME HIT PLAY AND PLAY GOODLORD

I honestly haven't gotten super excited for a game in a long time. Years probably. That new Gears of War game looked cool whenever it was announced, but I guarantee it's going to roll out as a woke piece of crap. I bought the Metro series a week or so ago, and wow, what a series. I rolled credits on 2033 and clocked about an hour on Last Light. I went through about 10ish years of only playing one game, so now I'm discovering all the games that I missed out on. I'm not going to play anything that's trying to pander to me like Outlaws, Concord, etc. The only "recent" game I would even think about buying is Robocop. Great video! If I had a Trump hat, I would wear it proudly!

As much as ppl give this game shit, I give all the credit in the world to Kojima for Death Stranding. Everything about that game is new and fresh. If people actually gave it a genuine shot I’m sure they’d love it.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I've recently been in a gaming slump myself and there's nothing that's been catching my interest other than hogwarts legacy when that came out and bg3. There are still good games out there but I have found myself becoming more and more picky about what I play.
Look at Star Wars Outlaws… Journalists are giving this unfinished broken mess 10 out of 10, 9 out of 10 on Meta. How the F is that even possible?!? “Oh, we don’t want to hurt the feelings of these developers with hard valid criticisms, we applaud their shtty work”. So what’s going to happen with their next games? Well they’re going to continue their shtty work and fix some, not all, problems with updates. Like in what the F of a world are we living in? LaLaLand? Rainbow City? Bambi and the Seven Ducks Productions?
Criticism pushes developers to do better! So be honest about your reviews and let them feel that this ain’t the way of pushing developers to perfect their games.
Best way to let them feel something is not to buy their products. Never bought an Ubisoft game in my 44 years of existing and never will.

But yeah, PS3 and 360 were great and its downhill now that suits, psychos and lame took over game creation. Before it was about wowing us, now its about copying the lowest common denominator. Things like Dying Light 2, every GAAS game and every copy/paste game with zero attempt at innovation. The politics gotta go too.

It’s a sign of the times. Everything is being remade because there’s nothing new that’s good. I probably buy 2 games a year … and then play them a year later.

Gaming has been pretty stale with a good one here & there in rare occasions. I find myself staring at my games more n more lately trying to figure out what to play or be interested genuinely interested in a game. Black Myth has me right now but after that I don't see anything grabbing me & keeping me interested. COD has gotten way worse with cheating on all sides & their trash anti cheat amongst loads of other issues.

The rush to 4k and the need to nickel and dime gamers has really done a number on gaming. THe way it is now its best to wait till the end of a consoles lifetime to get those 8 exclusive bangers (hopefully) or just game on a PC and Switch and go back catalog. Ray Tracing and all that crap is too hard for current gen to hit, and the pro will be upscaling from 1080p or 720p to hit 4k which just goes to show how in a rush they were to slam 4k down our throats. We will never have a SNES / Genesis / PS2 / 360 type experience ever again where games arrives polished and complete with a variety of excellent titles to play. And they didn't have to sell 20 million just o break even either.
Gone are the Chad Warden days lol...I remember the Shokio and Blackb0nd going at it with their haters, ReviewTechUSA was getting started too, the PS3, Wii, 360, Wii U, PS4, Xbox1, PC....I can't believe that's all the past now...
Gaming isn’t what it used to be. I used to play my Xbox 10hrs a day now I barely play 10hrs a week. Last game I actually enjoyed was Resident Evil Village. I beat it about 7-8 times. Right now I’m just coasting through life waiting on GTA6.

Games are getting more and more expensive to produce, meaning they take longer and longer to actually publish. So we're just left in the desert, with only remakes of 10+ year old titles, or copy-pasted garbage like CoD, Madden, AC, 2K, etc. being released. Then on the multiplayer component, you have manipulative matchmaking, designed off of data developers monitor, designated to keep-players engaged forever like it's fucking Heroin Hero in South Park.
Remember when you put cod cds and boot up right into the mutiplayer menu and hit play core tdm and boom you're already in a match, now is sit there have a drink, eat and wait till you get sorted into a lobby then starts selecting then the loading then the character cut scene to the match then the countdown is like wtf goddammit let me play the game, plus the 300gb updates every two weeks like cmon man. Online games have become a job, with the pass and all of this bs crap. LET ME HIT PLAY AND PLAY GOODLORD

Been gaming since I was 3. Was born in 85. Imo, the state of gaming is the same as all forms of entertainment these days, uncreative. It’s as if most devs just follow the same formula & nobody is taking risks in new IP’s. (Except for Indie games).

I’ve been replaying older PC games. Currently playing Half-Life 2. So damn good. Still to this day. Doesn’t look bad either! Gonna play FEAR and FEAR 2 again soon. Halo 1-4 campaigns are still good!
I honestly haven't gotten super excited for a game in a long time. Years probably. That new Gears of War game looked cool whenever it was announced, but I guarantee it's going to roll out as a woke piece of crap. I bought the Metro series a week or so ago, and wow, what a series. I rolled credits on 2033 and clocked about an hour on Last Light. I went through about 10ish years of only playing one game, so now I'm discovering all the games that I missed out on. I'm not going to play anything that's trying to pander to me like Outlaws, Concord, etc. The only "recent" game I would even think about buying is Robocop. Great video! If I had a Trump hat, I would wear it proudly!
