The reason I travel for over an hour to go to Rose Bay from Kogarah is because I can understand Father G. Like many other Australian-born Greeks, my Greek is not great, and here I can understand the word of God ... and isn't that the whole point. I avoided going to church for nearly my entire life (now 67yo) because of the language barrier. I live 10 min walk to my local Greek Orthodox Church at Kogarah, but it does me no good because I can't understand the service.

@theguitaramptech I was born here in Sydney too, but my parents made sure I attended greek school 🏫 as did my two daughters, and we all speak and write greek fluently. You should have learnt your mother language. There is no excuse. A Greek church ☦️ should be Greek. Do you see church of England or Catholic churches translate anything in Greek for us Greeks? Absolutely not. I avoid going to the " Greek Orthodox Church, because of this reason. I hear English daily, so I would love to hear only Greek spoken in our Churches. Just like 👍 the good old days. There is no excuses for this to be happening.

@@TinaDiamantis You are right Tina. I should be ashamed for not having gone to Greek school when I was a kid. I am not worthy of going to a Greek Church in Australia. You have convinced me that I should stop going to church. Thank you for the awakening.
