So I know many may look at my hair and instantly think my hair looks pristine. My hair also feels amazing and smooth. After my hair Cut Some of my shed hair has proven that some of my hair strands are just severely damaged and must be removed. I have another appointment tomorrow morning to just get a short cut . If you’re interested in following me grow my hair out again without using braids or extensions then here we go again. My experience has taught me several things. The hardest lesson though was having to loose my hair that I had grown over the past few years. I have received two set backs from curly cuts. One on 2021 where the first curly cut went horribly wrong and the stylist just jacked my hair up😤. In January of 2022 I had to start over with a fresh cut. I have had several set back since trying curly cuts and doing the BGC method. April 2023 was the first time I knew I had experienced damage and we have since then been removing at least 3 inches at each appointment . I initially didn’t realize that it wasn’t just curly cuts but in fact the entire routine was just horrible . My hair needs deep conditioning treatments, leave in conditioner and that using those hard holding gels and then sitting under a dryer was killing my hair 😢. The crazy thing is I am hopeful that by summer I will hopefully have surpassed this current length. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive, thank you to AHG who has taken the time to listen and take action to help all the ladies who are experiencing setbacks from following the BGC method.
@ayannagb8587 so great question. I don’t think so because I stayed consistent with my routine. My weekly base gel was UFD , I might have switched up my topper product a few times based on the wash and go I wanted . My shampoo was consistent, the conditioner I used was consistent. Also my routine was curated under the care of a stylist. Aisha hair as we see is just as damaged as mine if not worse after blowing out her hair. As Aisha said she isn’t cutting the hair she needs it for a wash and go. As any changes in styling products I did discuss with the professional I was seeing.
Honestly Aisha isn’t and wasn’t trained enough to be giving 100 of women natural hair advice. As we have seen her hair is very damaged, she tried to convince us but we have eyes 👀. The part I find horrible is when you guys initially came forward asking for answers and the way they responded 🚩🚩🚩🚩. They knew what they were doing, but the money was too good. All the stylist are also aware but again the money is too good. Look Aisha can’t even do a blow out, now we know her skill level. As black women we are always being taken advantage of, this one was vicious because these are black women. Hair is such an important aspect of black culture. Hopefully the people still follow these women who are promoting texturism will come to their senses. I am here for your journey. You got this ❤
@Beautifulbrownskin156 I’m not siding with BGC in any way. As soon as I saw the recommendation to not use oils and butters, I KNEW this wasn’t anything I would try. I haven’t even tried the 30 day detox. I know my hair and that wasn’t and isn’t for me. But I’d like to know, in your opinion, in what way were they promoting texturism?
Okay I am going to say , I love how classy you are. I am so so sorry for how damaging this whole event of this BGC method has been for you. It’s very interesting that people are still so caught up with defined curls that they basically are unwilling to make changes. Thank you for sharing your journey, because had you not many women would be still experiencing continued damage. I am so excited to follow and see you grow your hair back. Honestly even though your hair is damaged, very deceptive because it looks beautiful. Much love Rosie ❤
It’s wild how the hair can look so healthy but when you get up into it you see all the splits, incomplete splits and if you’re like me some major texture changes. It’s just unreal that following that method plus the combination of not having the ends properly maintained (even though we were told they were) could create such damage! Unless you’re currently going through it, it’s hard to wrap your head around it. Especially when the hair looks healthy to the eyes. The silver lining is that now we both know better and have changed things up significantly. Can’t wait until this time next year because we will both have totally different heads of hair that are actually healthy! So here’s to healthy hair! ✨🥂 ✨
Yes unless you have that experience it’s very difficult to understand. I guess that’s a sure outcome when you follow a stylist method that just left hair school. We were the lab rats 🥺 unfortunately.
You are so right. Years ago, I was washing my hair with whatever, even bar soap like dial. I did not care because I put it up in one Bantu knot on top of my head for several months. When I went to have my hair pressed and curled, my strands were split to the roots. I had no idea. I shaved my head bald at that point. 😢
Yeah my hair is like this unfortunately I have to transition otherwise I am left with a TWA 😢.. I guess for me it’s ok the damage used to bother me until I just made a goal for myself to retain as much length as possible for a year before a cut. I don’t shed hair much , no tangles either at wash day.
@@tmcurly Ugh that’s so difficult to deal with but it sounds like you have a great plan! Plus I know it’s not easy to just cut your hair. Slowly but surely wins the race. 💖
It’s wild how damaging chronic dehydration is for type 4 hair, I’m transitioning heat damage without half of these problems. There’s still problems but this method really is an experiment of what happens to Afro hair when it gets dry as hell over a long period of time 😢
Yes it does. I have never had this experience and I have been natural for over 10 years. UA-cam had it corrected our hair definitely needs milder shampoo to thrive
Hi Rosie! I appreciate you sharing your hair journey. Everyone’s hair journey is different depending on products we use, it is amazing to know that products we use can affect our hair in different ways. I have cut my hair so many times not being happy with the way it looks or feels and not spending enough time on finding out my hair was looking the way it did. I recently cut my hair from ground zero lol to get a fresh start again and I’m hoping to pay more attention to the hair products I use and make adjustments as needed. There are some many hair products out there but everyone has a different grade of hair that needs different products I’m grateful for that. I appreciate you and being willing to cut your hair shows strength in knowing if you keep the length it will continue to grow with those split ends. Realizing you need to cut it and being willing to cut it shows a lot about you and your personality. Shows that what you mention you would rather have health over length and in due time with your new healthy habits your hair well bounce back by next year as you mentioned. But I didn’t mean for this to be a long essay! But thank you for your channel and always being positive and sharing the real issues that come with getting hair healthy ❤
Thank you so much ❤️. Yes you know I enjoy short hair. Healthy hair. I think this time was a little difficult because it wasn’t my choice but when I tell you I am enjoying the new cut👀.
I am so sorry to hear this Rosie. I was also thinking that my issue was a result of the products. That’s why I haven’t used those products lately because they are stripping and I notice that when I used that shampoo and styled WTH the UFD/ICH combo my hair webs. When i use the UFD with other products no webbing. I’m going to continue to use the no suds shampoo for now. Your hair will grow back better than ever. 😢 I go back in December can’t wait to see what my stylists say. OMG
Continued best wishes for your hair journey. You've inspired me to get corrective cuts for my upcoming salon visits from the irreversible cuticle damage/change in coil pattern that I also have. Your stylist sounds very supportive. All the best!
@@cmw1336 Hi! I got damaged hair from following the BGC method for 6+ months. I have incomplete splits and a loose coil pattern in the ends of my hair and it also has lost the ability to hold a definition in my twist outs and are visibly drier. I've been natural for 10+ years and had never seen this happen to my hair before. It's honestly only been easier for me to rectify because I have low porosity hair which takes a lot to get damaged. If I had normal porosity-high porosity hair or if my texture was finer, I would have 100% needed to BC my hair. To be specific, the 'all-purpose shampoos' and even the recommended moisturizing shampoos wreaked havoc on my hair causing the splits, and the lack of leave-in conditioners weakened my cuticles further. Moving forward, I won't follow the BGC method to the T because I would not retain length but the BGC method is fabulous for special occasions for me for when I wish to style my hair into a great wash-and-go once I've used my choice of shampoos/conditioners/leave-ins.
So we had similar damage that you described. The texture changes at the end were very hard to deal with. Those areas of my hair were rough and only a cold rinse would lay the cuticle down. I wish you the best moving forward. Yes and the both Shampoo moisture & all purpose I felt were quite stripping
I know!! There are so many other women battling this unfortunate situation. It’s not a fun one especially when it requires you to shave your head. I am looking forward to growing back my hair because it’s very short
I thought I caught the premiere 😞. Your cut look good. I know you’re going to do another cut though. I hope the second cut corrects everything and then you can grow out the rest of the damage.
Thank you so much Rosie for sharing 🥰💙.. I know it’s a very hard pill to swallow but I’m the end I’m glad you are choosing to have “healthy hair “ ., can’t wait for Pt 2 🥰
Hi Rosie ! I think you’re doing the right thing and your hair will bounce back in no time . When I started to learn the method it was difficult to find the proposed shampoo (all purpose ). The one that I managed to get was AG balance. At the first it was great but after a while I felt it was stripping like almost like a clarifier. So when I was done I went back to my previous shampoos. I might buy it as a clarifier shampoo but I already have the kinky curly knot today that I like.
Yes definitely listen to your hair and move accordingly. Our hair feeling like straw isn’t feeling your true texture. Yes AG shampoo is amazing but it can be stripping. Thank you so much for the support ❤️
@@rosieamelia5955that part !! We were all scammed into accepting this rough mess as our true texture and then told we weren’t accepting of our own hair !! Who would accept this !?? I kept saying my hair never did this before !!

This!! My hair looks like yours and is thick and full throughout but when inspected closely I can tell it’s not as healthy as it needs to be and I’m anal about my ends. I always knew something was off when I got curly cuts. My ends instantly became like velcro after the first cut and I just thought it was part of the healing of my hair. I used my stylist’s method religiously and just never felt comfy with how hard detangling became. I got 3 or 4 more curly cuts and it never remedied. I blew out my hair and did a blunt long bob type cut to make everything even and it’s been so easy now to detangle but I’m not out of the woods yet. I have about an inch and a half to get rid of now that has some knots and splits. The method may work for some but just not others… and that’s okay.
Yes the hair can be very deceiving, it looks good but when we take a closer look you are like WOW. I am happy you are on the way to health. With the significant amount cut I have only found one shed hair with split so far but very minimal. I am hopeful that I can get ahead of this mess!
Def felt, and I’ve semi chopped multiple times in my 2 years of hair growth. I even recently just gave myself a taker because my hair line and edges are so fine that I always end up keeping it shorter than my higher layers so I..goneee
See nothing wrong with loving short hair because I enjoy short hair very much. Just am enjoying my current cut. It was disappointing because I wanted to grow my hair out. And no one wants a head full of damage hair 😫. Healthy hair on wash day us so much easier
I'm super sorry for what happened and I can totally see how sad you are. 🥲 And it's crazy because when we see your hair it looks so pretty, gorgeous and healthy. Hopefully you'll be relieved soon when you get your final major cut! ❤❤
I’m curious you mentioned using certain things on your hair that was damaging have you or are you planning to share what products you were using and the frequency of use that was causing your personal hair damage? I’ve watched your previous videos and I remember mention of using certain styling products and not using certain types of conditioning and styling products i.e. leave in and deep conditioners but here I’m hearing talk about certain cleansers in this video. Just wanted clarification on what issues you found between cleansing, conditioning and styling that caused your damage perhaps in a more precise video.
0 seconds ago The whole recommended products in the BCG list in general. You might want to switch things up. Make sure your hair has moisture. Common sense over anything else ladies 😀..
Do you use detangling brushes? If so, maybe finger detangling may be able to assist you further in preserving the health of your hair in its compromised state at this time.
I do finger detangle, before the cut I need a brush to assist with the ends, the texture changes rough ends would just web. Those ends have been removed so I should only need a brush when necessary
I'm so sorry that you have gone through this. I thought that you had changed from using "the method" and started using leave-ins and deep conditioners and it was fixing things. Your hair in the last couple of videos since changing from "the method" has felt hydrated and moisturized and it's not until you go to the stylist that you see "all the damage.' You did not see mid-shift splits until this blow out? Just for clarity how long did you use "the method" vs how long you switched back to leave-ins and deep conditioning? Personally, I subscribe to Afrikan Hair God's methods of hair grease, water and flat twist styles, so I'm so not use "the method" or Anthony Dickey, so I'm not trying to defend "the method." I know this is a journey and you are trying to figure things out and I am routing for you, sis.
Thank you for your encouragement. I do have videos documenting my journey everything from when I practiced the method. I am happy you are subscribed to doing AHG method because he has covered this in his platform as well. He has covered that the damage will take a significant time to be corrected with growing new hair. Yes my hair feels night and day. I also have shared in my videos documenting any issues I have been having. Deep conditioner is helping my new growth but once the hair is damaged it just needs to be cut overtime. My new videos share my stylist recommendation and what my haircare practices should look like moving forward.
The new cut is actually really cute 😊 . I am enjoying it straight. I can’t say what my shape will be curly because this cut was primarily for health 🥺!
There are plenty of people whose hair is free of split ends. This is not normal at all. I've been able to get many of my clients to be free of splits. True healthy hair is possible but this degree is damage is extremely excessive
There are many individuals with health hair. I had healthy hair prior to this routine minimal split ends. I was on a 6 month cutting schedule with minimal split ends at each appointment
Respectfully, all humans have heads of hair that contain many individual hairs with splits in them. It is delusional to think that you can simply cut all of them out, or even find all of them. Also, it is alarming that you are keeping multiple bags of your own hair, and that you think that the problem is shampooing your hair once a week? Perhaps I’ve misunderstood. It seems like you may be overly fixated on your hair and you have a stylist that is willing to ride your anxiety train for profit. Please meditate on what real issue is. Be well!
I’ve watched your videos where you’ve experimented with several products. Is it possible that some of your experimenting could also be a contributing factor to the damage you speak of? It seems a bit misleading to assume it’s due to bgc method or curly cut
When you say I experiment with several products could you elaborate please? Because I probably only tried one other based gel maybe for a few wash and go but consistently weekly my base gel was uncle Funky’s daughter curly magic. My topper was ICH / bg / ps or a foam, and my shampoo was innersense hydrating hair bath, my conditioner was either AG boost or Innersense. Also if you stated you watched my videos you would have noted the number of women who have experienced damage.
@@rosieamelia5955 Probably only tried sounds like you’re probably not being truthful about the content you put out there and the fact that you have been playing in your hair and now it’s damaged. Good luck with your new found content
Your comment and accusation makes me know you have not watched any of my content. Your comments have been dismissive and like BGC (They refuse to correct any issues or take accountability instead blaming the individual or client). I was partnered with one of their trained OG stylist like many women and many have experienced damage some to different degree. But to dismiss damage and blame clients. I find it so silly if you switch your products somehow your hair will get damaged 🤷🏽♀️. Listen I am going to be switching products , using leave in and deep conditioner. I am going to stop using the recommended shampoo and let the evidence speaks for themselves 😅. Also the fact that you use a fake picture and name it’s hard to not believe you are not one of BGC people because this is their narrative always. Trying to somehow dismiss clients instead of putting to rest the method they experiment with on paying clients. We are not going to lab rats anymore 👀. Have a good day. I am happy you are on the way to health.
With the significant amount cut I have only found one shed hair with split so far but very minimal. I am hopeful that I can get ahead of this mess!
Thanks for your honestly. I do hope you get back to your healthy hair❣
Yes healthy hair journey 🙌🏾!
Yes to that 🙌🏾
I’m curious you mentioned using certain things on your hair that was damaging have you or are you planning to share what products you were using and the frequency of use that was causing your personal hair damage? I’ve watched your previous videos and I remember mention of using certain styling products and not using certain types of conditioning and styling products i.e. leave in and deep conditioners but here I’m hearing talk about certain cleansers in this video. Just wanted clarification on what issues you found between cleansing, conditioning and styling that caused your damage perhaps in a more precise video.
I’m curious too. Is the AG shampoo or the Innersense shampoo?
I will make a different video sharing a few tips and what my stylist caution was at my appointment.

The whole recommended products in the BCG list in general.
When you use high quality detangling brushes and techniques a tool is not the enemy also seamless combs.
Our 4c hair traps some hairs.
I’m wondering what you’re considering damage to your hair.
HONESTLY, Me Too!!!
Texture changes and crazy split ends and incomplete splits. 😑
After being in her comments every video it's surprising y'all are still asking this ...
Yes everything you said!
Aye! I’m here.
Wow,😢
The new cut is actually really cute 😊 . I am enjoying it straight. I can’t say what my shape will be curly because this cut was primarily for health 🥺!
It leaves me to wonder whose hair is healthy? Whose hair is ever free of splits? I dont know what I would do if this was happening to me.
Be well!
Thank you for your perspective, please have a good evening.
As I said I cannot take you seriously. You could be very well be Aisha with this fake name and profile picture 🚩🚩🚩🚩‼️
Ps Meryl Streep wants her picture and name back 🙈!
@@MrsharttlSo while you’re over here pointing fingers at folks during their low moment, help me to understand how Aisha’s hair looks so extremely damaged??? Now mind you, this is while she’s using nothing but the products from her curated list & getting curly cuts!
Also, what about ALL the countless other people whose hair has been damaged from the same practices? Are you going to dismiss their experiences too? 🤔
I know, how about you blow your hair out especially if you’ve been following everything the way we did and let’s have a nice look inside of it. 🧐I bet you’ll change your tune once you see what lies within. 😎 ☕️
Btw, Stop trolling fren because it’s not a good look! 😆
Looking at the fake profile picture and fake name I am suspecting this comment is from a curly cut stylist. This is always the narrative.
