I'm so happy that I found a way to render my VisualARQ and Lands Design models in Blender. With Rhino.Inside Revit, I can work with my Rhino plugins and use Revit assets inside of Blender. I can add more detailed shaders inside of Blender, organic objects, lights, animation, etc. and not worry about losing any work inside of Blender when I make changes to my model geometry in Rhino.Inside. This is amazing!
I've spent quite a bit of time working with this software and am currently developing a workflow template for my company to link models to Blender efficiently. While the concept behind this software is amazing, there are some significant issues. For instance, shared Revit family models create duplicates, which then need to be manually hidden or deleted. Additionally, after editing a model and exporting it from Speckle to Blender, the software imports a completely new model instead of updating only the changes. At the moment, I'm exploring alternatives. However, if these issues were addressed, this software could become an incredibly efficient tool for my company's workflow.
Hey there, How are you expecting to receive those parameters and what are you planning to do? Can you give a bit more context. Feel free to share the details at speckle.community.
I'm hoping to upgrade from using Revit to using Blender for creating technical drawings. I have a library of about 4000 items in Revit. For tight deadline jobs I need to use the Revit Families inside of Blender (using the BlenderBIM addon and possibly Speckle). Being able to tag some of my Revit Project Parameters using BlenderBIM would be a great time saver for drawing production. @@SpeckleSystems
Actually some blender people are developing BlenderBIM inside blender so please make revit model compatible with the add-on. Or atleast have all information from BIM software that can be accessed by blender that later can be used by add-on developer.
Multiplayer and multi-application workflows are our thing. Speckle is not the only solution for RhinoRevit, but it IS the only solution that adds Blender and a web viewer into the mix.
Hello there, I'm sorry, but I didn't quite understand your question. Would you mind elaborating on it a bit more so that I can better assist you? You can explain it at speckle.community, in more detail.
@@SpeckleSystems In 3DS Max for example, you can override the mapping of an object with with a mapping modifier (a simple cube projection of 1m x 1m for example), regardless of how messed up is the original mapping. I was wondering if the same is possible in blender to avoid doing mapping work again for most straight and orthogonal stuff that gets reimported.
the whole office was facing a problem, and you guys solved it! Awesome.
Great to hear that! Please showcase your result at speckle.community.

Hey @emily8878
Can you tell me which revit version and Blender Version, You are using for this and Also the speckle Version?
Can't believe this tool is finally here.
Speckle y'all did a heck of a job! ♥

This is amazing 🎉, makes me want to focus on rendering projects 😅
Brilliant work, well done Speckle team!
How can we get some Project Parameters to show in Blender's 'Custom Properties'?

I have trouble at 6:15 minutes. You used the shortcut 'Ctrl + Shift + T,' which doesn't work in my Blender 4.0.
you need to enable to node wrangler addon. then that shortcut will work as shown in the video
Where have you been!! this is amazing!!
could this potentially be the same as rhinoinsiderevit? I mean drawing, for instance, lines in blender that later on can be walls in revit?

Also I cant change the materials of certain components as they are linked as collection instances is there a workaround
It creates dublicates, how to resolve this?
this is gold
Is it possible to retain the mapping of a modified object by automatically applying a cube mapping with a modifier or something?

Hi. Components modelled in Revit doesn't import as objects in Blender, and can't apply material nor edit these geometries.
This should be supported. Please repeat the report at speckle.community and we'll pick it up from there.
@@SpeckleSystems Any updates with this? Some geometry seems to be linked and I am unable to enter edit mode to change material.
hi i'm having trouble with sending elements of blender to speckle :< it sends an error saying it has invalid credentials
Please try again - we acted defensively to a potential security issue. Should all be good again.
when i try to recieve after updating the file in revit it deuplicates all the models in blender why is this?
The speckle connector is not working on my blender 3.6.5
it is not showing on the preference to install the addon
Hi there,
I saw some activity related to the same issue on speckle.community, so I assume you have already posted your question there.

the speckle conector is not working, it shows an error when I try to click on the add on
Hey Clauida,
Can you please report this at speckle.community? It's easier to get support from there.
