That'd be such a bold (and aggravating) decision for a final boss of any game that features an OP time slow ability. Just take away the ability the player had been using as a crutch through every hard encounter up until then because the boss is truly on your level, they can do the same shit so it just cancels out. Like no mf, you are playing this fight at normal speed the whole time. You're not slick.

Regardless of 'lore' Smasher should have been given all the bullshit cyberpowers the game has access too, the game has like two moments to set him up as this terrifying villain and this is one of them.

The moment I could start attacking after the cutscene, he melted around 10 seconds on hard and went through one health replenishment mod. I couldn't see anything but explosion flashes filling the entire screen half the time so be warned. I've not tested it on v. Hard mode, but I'm going to go down the route of a smart gun user on my next character now.

David also was at the top of Arasaka like his mother wanted except in his own way but not by standing on the edge but by demonstrating to them his top of the class potential. That's why they wanted him back but David told both Smasher and Arasaka to f*@k off. He wasn't going to accomplish their dreams. David did it and went out his own way ..
That's like the perfect life imo, achieve whatever you want to do and when that's done, finish life on your own terms. However my dreams are yet to be met so unfortunately I'll have to live longer

But the thing is he accomplished their dreams, but far too literally. David's mom wanted a better life for her son, not for him to die a "legend." Regardless of where he ended up more than anything she wanted her son to be able to not have to worry about money and surviving like she did. And Lucy wanted to go to the moon to escape the world, to hide, but after David her dream changed to be with him, he became her moon. David inadvertently was selfish and made only his own dreams come true because he was too caught up in the future.
They should make it that when you use sandevistan, Smasher uses his at the same time. Fighting him while the normal dudes are all in slow motion. (If you have legendary sandevistan, then maybe you have an advantage or something)

That's not true. V isn't immune to cyber psychosis or anything, the games just don't integrate cyber psychosis because it wouldn't be as fun to limit the player's ability to slap every possible augment onto every possible extremity. If you want a lore reason for why V can get completely borged out without worrying, consider the fact that you're dying anyway. V will upgrade as much as they possibly can just for the possibility that they can manage to go farther and find a way to get the biochip out. Cyber psychosis might kill you eventually, but the biochip is killing you way sooner, so you might as well go all out until then.

This was said by the game creators, as it's also why David had such a high tolerance for augmentation. V's empathy only stayed as high as it was because of Johnny, while David's was around 8 empathy and 80 humanity. It's really weird but they basically just talked about how it works lmfao
after V got free from Jonny in ending, V was still fine with many cyber cyberwares. V was going to artificial satellite of Arasaka in Space for next fighting
With the mass amount of people who want Adam Smasher to be buffed a godly amount since watching edgerunners, I wouldn't be surprised if CDPR makes Smasher a badass in the next update.
Since the start of the game, his deadliness has been downgraded in his bossfight by the fact that you see people constantly one-shotting Phase 1, and some builds one-shot him outright. He needs a buff anyways to make him feel deadlier in general.
I doubt it, too many crybaby game urinalists will moan about the game being too hard, so it gets nerfed afterwards anyways. We would've needed the old CDPR who made TW3 and didn't give a damn about the bloody urinalists crying that death march is too hard. Now, we have Corpo trash CDPR who is more concerned about political correctness and hiring "the right kind of people" than making good games by hiring talented people. There is nothing wrong with defeating the final boss without dozens of attempts and hours of grinding. But the challenge should be there for people craving a challenge and feel like a badass.
I mean, aside from Smasher canonically being able to match David's speed with his own Sandevistan Mk 4, doesn't this canonically mean the cyberskeleton actually made David weaker in 1v1 given that it crippled him in the latter half of the fight once Smasher removed the anti-grav that made it possible for the skeleton to even move? I mean, clearly it's superior for taking on literal hundreds of enemies and vehicles, but it has a glaring weakness against a singular well-built opponent.

Simply being in that gear took a toll on him and he was already exhausted from the extra bs gear he normally keeps on himself cuz of sentimental value. He wasn’t beating smasher as simple as that. Give him 5 years he could. But then he’d meet V and they easily becoming legends in night city.
I think if you use the sandevistan against smasher, everything should be slow but smasher and V move at the same speed. Like how in Dishonored when you freeze time against Daud everything is frozen except for Daud and Corvo since they both posses those abilities.
I loved that fight. It's been a looong time but i still remember it became a lot like chess: "do i use it now to get advantage or save it for defense"? It's the only fight i actually struggled with the whole game...(music box pricks non withstanding).
Sadly even if he does survive, he would probably go cyberpsycho. His death was predetermined from the start, the second he implanted that spine implant (I remember it's sandevistan lmao)

In game he is agile as a sack of potatoes and, looks like, same smart. According lore, he spent more than 70 years in battles, modified whole body for war and definitely should fight far better

I really loved this version of the Sun ending too - Rogue's still around and, though they still leave, the Aldecaldos don't lose nearly as much as in the Star ending.
Yeah, but they didn’t make to leave NC. They don’t have the tech and the economic state to make it completely. The Star ending is simbolic and make V have a new start, with no Nighcity in it, like Jackie always wanted.
I know 2077 Adam Smasher is an okay boss at best, but I wouldn't mind seeing a buff in his AI to a fearful amount so he has that dark boss energy. A truly horrifying experience. With the events of Edgerunners being canon, V is truly a powerhouse based on determination. They killed Night City's seemingly impenetrable monster which very few have faced, let alone survive encounters in order to get Johnny Silverhand out of his head.
Honestly, the biggest problem is his health being too low. And getting knocked off all the time. His attack patterns are pretty cool actually, is just that you can beat Smasher so easily that you don't even have time to notice. They should boost his life, and maybe make him jump around with sandevistan like MaxTac does.

They should've made Adam Smasher this unstoppable enemy you face multiple times like in resident evil games. Just barely surviving each time and getting away. Then you fight him in a mech suit too, or he's just an optional end game boss that's hard af.

I’d like to imagine that something happened between Edgerunners and 2077 that causes Smasher to be permanently hindered. Like somebody managed to fight Smasher in his prime, crunch his Sandevistan beyond repair, corrupt his cybernetics so he has to slow down, destroy parts about him that are nigh irreplaceable, etc. Whatever happened, it allowed V to be able to fight and defeat him.
it would be really cool if they did a new campaign or sidequest with David's story, putting the characters and moments from the anime inside the game, here's an idea for a great fan service
All David cyberware are listed on the wiki and we can clearly see that Gorilla Arms weren't the ones he uses. He and Maine used Projectile Launch System arms...

Yup, V pretty much has full on cyberpsychosis immunity He/she can be fully equipped with all legendary cyberware and it doesn’t affect him/her in the slightest
Would've been awesome if Smasher either activated his own Sandevistan whenever you activate yours, making clear off the bat that you're up against someone in your weight class, or had a move in his set where he activates it on his own initiative, forcing you to activate your own in time to fend him off
I would love to get an Edgerunners story DLC where we get to play as david and hang out with Lucy and do jobs with the gang. If you guys want CDPR to keep making content for this game, we gotta get the game to explode. It's doing well from the anime's success, but it needs to keep going if we want CDPR to see that they are sitting on gold if they keep working on this game. If you want it to be a True David build, limit yourself to the Lexington and the Yukimura as far as guns go, since those are the only guns we ever see David use.

Anime Smasher: Has a Sandy also and is better in it than David. In-game Smasher: No sandy, and it makes the fight trivial if V uses one. I just wish CDPR would commit more resources to making the content align and get where it should be a bit quicker.

I find it interesting that people use gorilla arms for the David build I guess its so he can punch but I would do it a bit differently. (spoilers) I would use the projectile launch system first of all since he got maine's and after the timeskip he was perfectly comfortable using guns so you don't lose a primary attack
surprised the modding community hasnt tried giving adam a sandevistan yet tbf, simple fix for all those wanting it I'd imagine (and in no way am I saying coding this is easy btw, but in concept shouldnt take up much file size... I think)
People are saying Adam should have Sandevistan when they forget the anime was out a year after the game. People also forget V is a full-on legend and is souped up with The Relic. And had better implants than David whom was using mostly prototypes. And lest we forget that V is completely immune from cyberpsychosis. Thats why he can use time dilation multiple times without the drawbacks.
I ground to get to level 50 because I was worried about this boss fight, and then... anticlimactic. I hope they patch it to scale difficulty to the character level to make it more challenging.

After watching edgerunners and playing again, i feel like they totally failed the main story of the game, trying to focus on silverhand and not "surviving and climbing night city". tbh this should be just ONE of the game's routes and not THE ONLY ONE, i want to see V getting more friends and maybe having a gang like David, more focus on cyberphysicosis and how devastating night city can be with someone, not just following silverhand's path....
it would be awesome if you've completed all the sidequests for the anime you have the option to say "David Martinez sends his regards" instead of "Silverhand sends his regards"

@@Amokhunter Difficulty settings are a thing. For people who aren't that good at the game, just go on easy mode, and it's OK. There is nothing wrong with defeating the final boss without dozens of attempts and hours of grinding. But the challenge should be there for people craving a challenge and feel like a badass.

I mean, aside from Smasher canonically being able to match David's speed with his own Sandevistan Mk 4, doesn't this canonically mean the cyberskeleton actually made David weaker in 1v1 given that it crippled him in the latter half of the fight once Smasher removed the anti-grav that made it possible for the skeleton to even move?
I mean, clearly it's superior for taking on literal hundreds of enemies and vehicles, but it has a glaring weakness against a singular well-built opponent.
if David wasn't out of suppressants and wasn't exhausted after fighting all the way to reach Arasaka tower, I'm certain he'd have been able to overpower Adam.

@@ashenzenden This. That gravity area power of his is a gigantic counter against Adam. Adam was barely even able to move when he was faced with it. But that whole cyberpsycho thing i feel was a huge part in the anime because they needed a "why and how" for David's death.

@@ashenzenden nah. David wasn’t going psycho in the fight. He was exhausted because he got pushed to lvl 100(the new gravity gear) and fought a lvl 200 boss with no potions. Simply being in that gear took a toll on him and he was already exhausted from the extra bs gear he normally keeps on himself cuz of sentimental value.
He wasn’t beating smasher as simple as that. Give him 5 years he could. But then he’d meet V and they easily becoming legends in night city.
Smasher has a Sandevistan as well, a "rudimentary implant", but he probs forgot bout it when fighting V.
Don't worry lucy got him back and fucked half his brain so be can't use any superpower implants anymore... I think

I think if you use the sandevistan against smasher, everything should be slow but smasher and V move at the same speed. Like how in Dishonored when you freeze time against Daud everything is frozen except for Daud and Corvo since they both posses those abilities.
I loved that fight. It's been a looong time but i still remember it became a lot like chess: "do i use it now to get advantage or save it for defense"? It's the only fight i actually struggled with the whole game...(music box pricks non withstanding).

He never went psycho just drifted in between. Even in his fight against Adam he wasn’t psycho. And that’s without any meds plus enduring all the stacked side effects of using all of that gear. Because remember the doc said when all his meds run out he’d have to face all of the side effects he put to the side using the meds.

In game he is agile as a sack of potatoes and, looks like, same smart. According lore, he spent more than 70 years in battles, modified whole body for war and definitely should fight far better

I really loved this version of the Sun ending too - Rogue's still around and, though they still leave, the Aldecaldos don't lose nearly as much as in the Star ending.
Yeah, but they didn’t make to leave NC. They don’t have the tech and the economic state to make it completely. The Star ending is simbolic and make V have a new start, with no Nighcity in it, like Jackie always wanted.

I know 2077 Adam Smasher is an okay boss at best, but I wouldn't mind seeing a buff in his AI to a fearful amount so he has that dark boss energy. A truly horrifying experience.
With the events of Edgerunners being canon, V is truly a powerhouse based on determination. They killed Night City's seemingly impenetrable monster which very few have faced, let alone survive encounters in order to get Johnny Silverhand out of his head.
Honestly, the biggest problem is his health being too low. And getting knocked off all the time. His attack patterns are pretty cool actually, is just that you can beat Smasher so easily that you don't even have time to notice. They should boost his life, and maybe make him jump around with sandevistan like MaxTac does.
@@JM-tj5qm They should not boost his life, he has more than enough health. The only reason he seems to die so fast in videos like this is because they are using very broken min-max builds but if you are doing a normal playthrough he can take like 5-10 minutes to kill.

They should've made Adam Smasher this unstoppable enemy you face multiple times like in resident evil games. Just barely surviving each time and getting away. Then you fight him in a mech suit too, or he's just an optional end game boss that's hard af.

I’d like to imagine that something happened between Edgerunners and 2077 that causes Smasher to be permanently hindered. Like somebody managed to fight Smasher in his prime, crunch his Sandevistan beyond repair, corrupt his cybernetics so he has to slow down, destroy parts about him that are nigh irreplaceable, etc. Whatever happened, it allowed V to be able to fight and defeat him.
A showdown between Oda and david would be nice
it would be really cool if they did a new campaign or sidequest with David's story, putting the characters and moments from the anime inside the game, here's an idea for a great fan service
All David cyberware are listed on the wiki and we can clearly see that Gorilla Arms weren't the ones he uses. He and Maine used Projectile Launch System arms...

Would be dope if on Hard and Very Hard Smasher had counters to Hacking and Sandies like seen in the anime. Just imagine if you go hyper speed and a second or so later he joins you each time, and seeing that demon overlay when in hacking giving him huge resistance to load time and damage.

I would love to get an Edgerunners story DLC where we get to play as david and hang out with Lucy and do jobs with the gang. If you guys want CDPR to keep making content for this game, we gotta get the game to explode. It's doing well from the anime's success, but it needs to keep going if we want CDPR to see that they are sitting on gold if they keep working on this game. There is so much potential, and I don't want to see it lost because they got put on blast because everyone rushed them to put the game out early

If you want it to be a True David build, limit yourself to the Lexington and the Yukimura as far as guns go, since those are the only guns we ever see David use.

Anime Smasher: Has a Sandy also and is better in it than David.
In-game Smasher: No sandy, and it makes the fight trivial if V uses one.
I just wish CDPR would commit more resources to making the content align and get where it should be a bit quicker.

Could you imagine how hard it would be if Adam Smasher had a Sandevistan. It would make him even scarier, too. Imagine fighting Adam Smasher and he dodges your bullets in the blink of an eye, then he appears right behind you.
He needs a significant speed boost, buff to health, CC resistance that gets stronger every time it's used on him, and projectiles that track better. Then the boss fight will be good
I find it interesting that people use gorilla arms for the David build I guess its so he can punch but I would do it a bit differently. (spoilers)
I would use the projectile launch system first of all since he got maine's and after the timeskip he was perfectly comfortable using guns so you don't lose a primary attack
If you're doing a proper "David build" you would use the PLS, people just don't use it because even the legendary version is dogshit.

People are saying Adam should have Sandevistan when they forget the anime was out a year after the game.
People also forget V is a full-on legend and is souped up with The Relic. And had better implants than David whom was using mostly prototypes. And lest we forget that V is completely immune from cyberpsychosis. Thats why he can use time dilation multiple times without the drawbacks.

In Cyberpunk Edgerunners - You have to perform all the roly poly, hit and run. Measure every move of yours, will die on a single hit and then replay the whole sequence

Cyberpunk needs a new game + mode
After watching edgerunners and playing again, i feel like they totally failed the main story of the game, trying to focus on silverhand and not "surviving and climbing night city". tbh this should be just ONE of the game's routes and not THE ONLY ONE, i want to see V getting more friends and maybe having a gang like David, more focus on cyberphysicosis and how devastating night city can be with someone, not just following silverhand's path....
