Hey Kitchen Friends, I hope everyone gets a chance to whip up this cheesecake ASAP! There's a typo in one of the cards; after baking for 10 minutes at 350F you refuce to 300F and continue baking for about 40-50 minutes. You can of course use a water bath if that's your preferred way to bake cheesecakes, I skipped it because we're covering the whole thing and they can be tricky/lead to soggy cakes if you don't have extra-long foil to cover the base. I feel like baking cheesecakes in a waterbath needs to be a whole separate video!
Preppy Kitchen Bain marie is tricky business, but worth it. 😄 Would love to see how you do it. I'm always sooooo nervous when my cheesecake is baking praying for no soggy bottom. Lol.
With all the pandemic situation, I appreciate a lot this videos and the way that you are. Also, I’m learning, I’m less stressed and all my family enjoy the delicious recipes💕 Thanks!!✨🍀
I am currently at the step where my Oreo Cake has rested for 12 hours chilled in the fridge. It smells so so good. I followed the steps word for word. I am just about to melt my white and dark chocolate for the top😃. This is the best cake that I have ever baked. It looks and smells so good and it’s not even complete. So excited. Thank you so much John for this recipe, it’s has now become apart of the family 😝✌🏻❤️ ***UPDATE - 16th July 2022*** This Cheesecake that I made 4 months ago was absolutely amazing the family loved it so much they were crazy impressed. Monday morning in the office will definitely be a lot more enjoyable with this cheesecake. I can’t thank you enough John, your truly talented and amazing ✌🏻❤️.
I made this for a group of friends coming over... the recipe works perfectly and it was BEYOND decadent! I sent photos to my family and they’ve asked that I make it for the holidays this year. Thank you for the recipe and fabulous instructions, John!
Okayyyy so first of all I NEVER bake and when I do, I buy boxed cakes and muffins from Walmart and make those. But I swear to you I know nothing about decorating a cake and the last time I tried to make the icing it was a disaster which was on my birthday. And this was my first time I thought I'd give this one a try since you looked so calm and convincing that I HAD to give it a try. And you made it look sooooo easy that I couldn't wait anymore and got all the ingredients and made it. Once I was done with the cake I was convinced completely that I could do it and the next morning I did all the icing and it came out exactly like yours and I told my mom I'm making all your recipes after this and it tastes even better and I can't believe I actually made it so good and all thanks to you. You are THE BEST 😍😍😍
Made this once for my husbands co-workers, got rave reviews and requests to make more for mothers day lol I am currently baking one for my neighbor and one to send with hubby to work tomorrow lol Thank YOU!
Here’s a tip I learned: don’t put your mixer on the highest speed while making the icing or the fat will desperate and create butter start off slow and increase speed as it thickens Another thing I learned: don’t impact it too much while doing the crust. I made the mistake of impacting it too much and it was rock hard.
Another tip I learned, never put your ingredients while the mixer is on and while doing scrapping down, the stand mixer head must always be kept at down position ...its for safety reason.
1. You ALWAYS bring a smile and so much love to our household. 2. My husband and I had even become cz we bake together more often, your recipes of course! 3. You have a genuine soul and thank you so much for being so amazing! God bless you and your beautiful family :) 4. I keep telling my hubby that I want to be by your side while you bake and clean after you specially in that amazing new kitchen of yours. IIt must be so much fun to bake with you. If I could just bake with you one day that would be one of my dreams come true. Greetings from Argentina my friend! We adore you!
I made this cheesecake yesterday! Followed the recipe just as described, it came out AMAZING! It taste so good! Don’t hesitate to make this, you will not be disappointed!!
Don’t make many comments on social media but felt compelled to write this one . His videos reawakened my joy for baking . In 5 days I’ve tried 4 recipes - excellent recipes and direction . And I love his smile
Will be making this for my birthday! Thank you so much for giving the amounts in grams as well, I live in Europe and this makes things so much easier for me.
I tried this recipe already and it turns out good. It was my hubby's birthday when I baked this and since we don't want any kind of chocolate cake we try this sooooo delicious.... Thank you for sharing this kind of recipe. Looking forward for many subscribers....
I made this at least 4 times for a special occasions at work, church or birthdays. It was such a hit and if you don't have the chocolate on hand whip a little more whip cream and pipe the center too. It is as delicious as it is beautiful! Amazing skills John!
Just made this for my husbands birthday - it turned out AMAZING! You’re such a great teacher and cook - thank you! Wish I could share a picture of it here. 😋
Made it and nailed it!! It turned out so yum. Made cheesecake for the first time ever and it came out perfect without any cracks. Just substituted the eggs with yogurt. Loved your recipe.!!!
It's sitting in the oven right now cooling off. I used double stuf Oreos and I think that's where the large puddle of grease pooling around the pan came from. I also forgot to add the flour, like an amateur! I had so much filling I ended up making a second cheesecake, but a super tiny one. The 8 inch cheesecake was still so full that it rose about an inch above the edge of the pan, which was perfect because I needed a snack so I picked at it and it was delicious! Anyway, if anyone reads this comment, don't use double stuf Oreos in your crust unless you cut the butter in half.
Mine pooled with grease too in a pan underneath my cake! But I used regular oreos Plus he didn't say to prebake the crust which I thought was weird. Turns out on the recipe page you are suppose to prebake it. So I don't know how my crust is gonna come out.
Yeah, crust tastes nice but butter drips out of the spring pan. I had to use some napkins to remove the excess, so next time I will do that, cut the butter in half.
So I just made this for my brother’s birthday since he’s an oreo enthusiast and he absolutely LOVED IT. The only thing I changed was adding nutella instead of the dark chocolate for the ganache, turned out great.
I just made this a few days ago. It’s so delicious! It tastes better after a day or two in the fridge. I thought that the ganache will make this cheesecake too sweet. But no, it actually balances the sweet and tangy taste of the oreo cheesecake.
i was trying to find words to express my admiration for your elegant and beautiful way of presenting all the recipes, but i dont think so you deserve all the respect
I did it last Christmas eve !!!! it was a real success. thanks...your indications were perfect. Regrettable I didn't take a picture. Will take a pic next time.
Guys I made this cheesecake step by step no changes and it came out AMAZING. It tasted sooo perfect and was honestly the best cheesecake I've ever tasted! You can never go wrong while choosing John's recipes!
Preppy Kitchen! please READ! so im a little kid and i dont have a spring form pan and i was wondering if you can plop it of a plate and flip it over? i will be putting crust on the sides to hopefully make it more stable? uhh a realy cool thing to make would be a citrus gelatin layered cheesecake! i love your videos and you are truly inspiring to me!

I made this for my brothers birthday with family and everyone loved it. I've never made a cheesecake before but it turned out great. They were all saying how it's really rich and stuff however it's very filling so they could only have a small slice so if people think the cake is too small think again. My aunt even said its as good as a cheesecake place where she would buy cheesecakes. Thanks!! will make more of recipes soon.

Did anyone else do this but use waay too much butter for the crust? I followed the recipe but the crust "dough" was so wet it was almost swimming in butter.
He added more Oreos. He said the standard is 24 but he added 30 as a personal preference. Thus he needed to put more butter in, which you probably didn’t need to
The written recipe indicates 57 g (1/4 cup) but this video lists 113 g (1/2 cup). I have made an Oreo crust with 26 cookies and 57 g melted butter with success.
Made this yesterday. And applied ganache today. Texture is really good. I used water bath method for the baking. 1st 10 minutes at 170°C and then reduced to 150°C and continued to bake for about 50 minutes. Cake did crack but didn't mind it since i was going to cover it with chocolate ganache. I followed the measurement for cake crust as suggested in your blog but found it too wet. And although the cake tasted really good it was way too sweet for my family and I.
Not that I'm saying his recipe is bad but what does test buds have to do with someone not liking the video? And no I was not one of the ones that hit the 👎.
Every video I have ever made from Utube, the baker always gives the ingredients and amounts at the beginning so you can have them ready when the baker gives the instructions. This has nothing to do with taste. It had to do with common sense if you are giving instructions for anything in life

Hi everyone I made this cheesecake for someone’s birthday and it turned out beautifully..she let me know it was an absolute hit! Now I’ll have to try it for my family.. And fyi his tiramisu is the best.. Thank you for sharing your lovely recipes ❤
I had some questions. In the video, I didnt see you mentioned put the crust on the oven 10min, just fridge. But when I printed it was there. Im confused sorry.
Without hesitation the BEST oreo cheescake I have ever had. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this amazing recipe. I have made this 6 times in the last couple months. I made it once for my husbands co-workers and I have been requested to make it individually for parties because it was an absolute hit.
@@露-p6r Typically Walmart was out of all ingredients for this .. stocking seems to be a problem..jobs should be open people! but I do plan on making this after the holidays.. maybe for my dad's birthday in February! he LOVES Oreos! I used to make an Oreo ice cream cake every year for him! Macaroons were the highlight of that recipe.. which were my plan for the Christmas season but required egg whites and wouldn't you know..? Walmart had no eggs! congratulations Walmart for blowing my holiday baking season..or re-stocking those french fried onions.. that's o.k. I don't need you because I made my own 🤨👏🖕

2. butter for the crust is way too much, reduce to 1/3 cup.(I will keep updating since the cake is still in the oven)
Update?
It’s been two weeks is your cake still in the oven
Buddy I think your cake's burning O_o
Its been- four weeks, your poor cake *-*
It’s been a month, is your oven ok

First ❤️ You’re so warm John, love watching your videos. Happy new year btw!
He is! So sweet.
Honestly, home made whipped cream is an awesome dessert all on its own. Cheesecake looks amazing.
I had some questions. In the video, I didnt see you mentioned put the crust on the oven 10min, just fridge. But when I printed it was there. Im confused sorry.
Put it the oven like the written recipe, this is what have done.
Without hesitation the BEST oreo cheescake I have ever had. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this amazing recipe. I have made this 6 times in the last couple months. I made it once for my husbands co-workers and I have been requested to make it individually for parties because it was an absolute hit.
Did you bake the crust or just put it in the fridge because the recipe says different than the video?
I followed the video process. No pre baking crust 😊
This recipe is absolutely amazing. So delicious! I will definitely make it again and again. Thank you for sharing your recipe, John :)

This looks absolutely delicious I'm making this for Christmas!
how'd it go? :)
Walmart had no eggs! congratulations Walmart for blowing my holiday baking season..or re-stocking those french fried onions.. that's o.k. I don't need you because I made my own 🤨👏🖕
thanks for putting the weights over the cups / tsps. I'm Italian and I'm starting to make your recipes
