Looks a great lens, not at all ugly. Nicely presented with minimal fuss. I just bought a Tele-Elmarit yesterday but it's f4 so that goggles version f2.8 is in need of speedy acquisition. I'm wondering if it'll work with the M9 ? Probably since the goggles don't seem to have a tab like the immortal Summicron DR. (Also very nice on an m5) The M5 is handsome beast, I have three of them and find them to be the best with the metering and bigger size. Well done for cleaning the lens ! Cheers.
Nathan, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you. I came upon this lens completely by chance. I recently found a Mint copy of the 50mm f2 DR lens that I intend to mount on my M3. Your review and images shared got me excited about also pairing this lens with my M3 for portraits. Is this lens compatible with the M3? And is it compatible with the M10? Thank you, Chaps
Hi Mike, I intend to do the very same for use with Fujifilm x cameras and have made a few test images so far. Perhaps the screws at the rear will work.
I can buy one like this in Norway where I live and wonder two questions does it make any sense to use it on a Fujifilm X- mount sinse i have adapter end it has a micro scratch on one lens, fungus i havent asked about but will. Will it work for 100GBP,-
I’m not sure I would want to use this on a Fujifilm due to the built in goggles. It would look rather strange and they may get in the way. A tiny scratch shouldn’t be a problem though
@@livewithfujifilm I shot it on a Sony A7 for years and really liked the images that came out of it. It does look a little funky with the goggles but it was also super eye-catching and a good conversation starter since so many people would notice and ask. I would just make sure to test the fit with the adapter before you buy it if possible. Because if the grip on the camera is too thick, it may not give you enough clearance for the goggles. I had to stop using the lens when I upgraded to the Sony A7iii because the grip is too thick for the goggles to clear when mounting the lens.
I've run a few tests with the 135 and a Fujifilm x camera. I will continue to use the lens that way but I want to cut the google assembly from the ring. I sold off the rangefinders stuff and the 135mm is only one I'm keeping. I may begin undoing the screws tomorrow.
@@nathan_woodgate not mine... I removed bayonet, then one screw on the side, then I removed tripod mount part and other small screw underneath. Then I could remove the part with googles - but googles and the back where bayonet is mounted is one piece... So it seems I have to cut it off...
Great video. I have this exact same lens in great condition but I have never used it. Now I will use it. Thank you.

Great review Nathan, this is going to be my next lens purchase i think... I was thinking 90mm Elmarit, but for the price of the 135 you cant go wrong!
Hi Nathan. Just received my mint version from Germany. Lovely lens
Great, enjoy, it will give your arms a nice work out😉
@@nathan_woodgate lol, just waiting for my M3 to be returned from the doctor [CLA]]

Hi, it fits on my Leica M240 so I would believe its compatible with the M3 and M10. I have actually removed the goggles now and use an EVF on my M240
Wow, thank you for the quick and informative reply. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the video
I also found the lens and will now try it out!
Which film did you use for the shown pictures?
This lens is pure, solid brass porn. Absolutely a beast, with a unique look.
Can the viewfinder be taken off the lens? I want to use one with my Fujifilm digital with an adapter.

Images from Whitely Bay I'm guessing?
Thanks for sharing just bought one from Germany on eBay for £200
It’s actually Great Yarmouth. Enjoy and good luck👌🏼

I use without googles on Fuji Xh1.. Works nice... minimum focus distance is long but is normal for this kind of lens..

Does anyone know how to remove the googles?
Held on with a single screw if I can recall
