- The Atlas CCV is an uncrewed ground vehicle that gives military commanders an exciting new tactical option while keeping soldiers out of danger. It represents another autonomous offering further highlighting that remote operations represent the future of warfare. The ATLAS has been designed to give armies a significant edge in contemporary combat scenarios, with this autonomous combat vehicle tailored to execute the monotonous, hazardous, and arduous tasks common in warfare. Let’s take a closer look.

Good option for Australia to increase our punch with a relatively small army
I'm sure they'll be used in crown control soon as you lose all your rights.
@@davidgreenwood6029 The US is the one that militarised their police, not us.
@@lamsmiley1944 Very low consciousness of you to make it some sort of competition along nation lines, as if they people who are taking them care about such distinctions. They only value them for their ability to create the kind of division that distracts people from their rights being taken. But if you're going to make it a competition, you aussies lead the way to boot licking daddy government worship, clamoring to give up first your guns then your freedom of speech.
Albo is a poor leader and I suspect he and other politicians are paid by Chinese Communists.
There are lots of people in Australia who escaped the horrors of the Chinese Communist Party only to betrayed by a weak man.
Excellent option. The old ASLAV-25 should be converted for uncrewed use rather than scrapped. It is robust, can swim rivers, lakes, that other vehicles in Australian Army cannot do, providing more battlefield maneouvre options.
Cheaper to build new than retrofit an older vehicle
Our LAVs arent in good condition
Convert old, tired vehicles to make a less capable, more expensive option to that which is available off-the-shelf?
Winning plan.
113s as well
Conversion is almost never a good idea. Purpose built is almost always cheaper, more efficient and more capable.
Just what I need for the work commute
Put an armchair on top, let the robot drive
You working from home?
Fit quad 50 cal guns, 8 anti tank and 12 ground to air missiles and you have a winner.
....an auto mortar system would be handy as well.

Won't happen. Too expensive. Australian government needs money for rainbow crossings and signs.

Australia should definitely buy some of these in other words "HOME MADE". so if we need more the tools are here, and we do not have to go overseas to beg or borrow.
The amount of money the govt is funding the military industry and tax concessions we are starting to see the end products. No doubt we will pick some up if needed. That's what we are doing it for..
@@tazgecko Yeah I run a small business and half the government grants are for the defence industry.
Problem is a drone would take it out too easy. Drones seem to be the thing on the battlefield now.
Not a problem at all they could be armed with the Australian designed and built slinger system.
@@kazdean 100% mate, the slinger will definitely be attached
In to video it shows that the weapon system can take out drones.
I mean it specifically states in the video that it is designed to combat drones, but who has time to watch the video in the rush to the comment section to be the first to drone on about drones like the world isn't aware of their existence?
@@tigerpjm So bloody correct..I don't understand - Australia is top of the game on drone and anti-drone tech. Why would it not be defended from the biggest threat it has
Why is it I see this and can hear the "Aliens" music. Let's ROCK!!!!
Australia should definitely look into this, we designed it here we should also use it. It has a lot of amazing features, add an ATGM which I am sure they have thought of and it will be lethal.🤠👍❤️🇭🇲
Not while these clowns are in office we won't. Need a proper PM and Defence Minister.
@@smeary10 I hope you don't mean Mr Potato Head.
It's also well know that being made the Defence Minister is a career dead end. Nobody with ambition wants to be sent into irrelevancy.
This belief holds for all the parties, yes tge Lib/Nats think it too.
@@smeary10 Leave out the political bias, if the LNP were in power the comments would be the same.
@@the_Kutonarch Kim Beazley was a Labor Defence Minister and then became leader of the Labor Party. So I don't believe that the most important portfolio in today's sociopolitical environment is a dead end. I'm sure Andrew Hastie would be an awesome Defence Minister whilst absolutely being PM material later in his career.
@@smeary10You may think that, but Patricia Karvelas has stated that she has been repeatedly told, by multiple cabinet members of both parties off-the-record, that the prevailing sentiment is the Defence portfolio is for people who can't make it into the public facing portfolios like treasury.
No politician have gone on the record to contradict her. Not even Mr Potato Head.
If truly amphibious it could be useful on beach landings or river crossings being first across. Module weapons is a must for multi role, it should have some kind of secondary like Anti-drone.
Lots of useful features, I would love to see the more survivability coverage. I would not waste it on recon you have UAVs for that.
Outstanding mate .......
Ukraine have already tested the Bush Master, I bet they've already ordered a few of these...
Norforce would love having this in their fleet.
Australia has a problem that most countries don't. Australia is the 6th largest country in the world but only has a population of around 27 million and the majority of Australia is uninhabitable so the majority of Australians live in the capital cities of each state.
This means that there is a need for drones to protect Australia's vast uninhabited areas and coastline.
The angry pizza box a cardboard drone that can be used for surveillance or fitted with different types of equipment including bombs or explosives has been sent to Ukraine and even destroyed a Russian fighter/bomber in flight is an example of the direction that the Australian military is heading.
I think it's a mistake to forego an anti-personnel armament, be it a 5.56 or 7.62mm
I like it
Made in Australia with Chinese steel mined from australia. Nice sales pitch
How's about the tires, its has the capability of bullet proof against any mine, bullets and missile that can blow it up easily and it will disable to run in normal normal without any fault.
I thought terminators were supposed to have legs..
The ground commander has plenty to do maneuvering troops. He really doesn’t need one more high tech gadget to fool with. Maybe armor units could use ‘em for mine clearing work. There’s a need for that, especially the cheaper, stripped down models. Keeping tanks and IFVs combat ready is already a full time job. You know, there’s a reason why the army hasn’t requested these things. Close air support is the ground commander’s best friend. Just ask him! Of course, he’ll likely say that CAS is great, but there’s just not enough of it! Spend your money wisely!
This is a BAE promo video! Oh, please buy me in large numbers.
Sadly you are correct 🇦🇺
Great idea with many options and usages . . . But we would rather waste money on nuclear subs that will never be delivered.
SSNs are a far greater force multiplier than an AFV. They can detect and engage an adversary invasion fleet long before the enemy gets the chance to land their troops and equipment
I think what we need most is umbrella defence.
We have plenty of heavy hitters but they are useless if they are in retreat.
Just look at the Russian "turtle tanks" - heavy hitters that can take down damn near anything....but only if they survive long enough to be useful!
We need something that can take down these agile drones so other assets can do their jobs.
We need a fly swatter to protect our men and heavy vehicles, not another attack vehicle.
Haha, they say that about every new thing that rolls off the assembly line.

No it won’t. Drones are killing all of these combat vehicles.
No they're not, what we see is a selective view, in reality drones are destroying a few vehicles, but conventional methods are still destroying far more.
how will it defend against loiter munitions ?
Add a slinger
I bet the Ukrainians would like to get their hands on this machine in their current battle with Russia.
They've already taken the bushrangers, looks like they already have these in order😁
One gun and no mortar?
Needs anti drone protection
Seems a capable enough platform - but will it change the battlefield? I tried to see how but failed - apart from the unmanned bit. Delivering infantry to the battlefield seems, in Ukraine, to face a wide spectrum of threats ranging from small UAV and mines all the way to high precision artillery munitions and precision air strikes. With all ATGMs from the loitering lurking kind to the wire guided insensitive to EW in between. It appears that between peer foes, the element of surprise is all but vanished. Speed and manoeuvre remain important - and appear very important to the troops - but seem unable to provide enough protection in itself. We are not seeing any platform successful in this, the most desired by the troops being those built for survivability. Ukrainians treasure their Bradleys and CV90 because they survive when hit, and the Russians even use motorbikes in order not to get hit in the first place. I am not sure what the answer to this is - it seems an impossible equation to me, with attempts at combating all threats leading to impossibly large, heavy and immobile vehicles and attempts at escaping the threats leads to…. Well motorbikes. In this aspect and task we see nothing really new here - problably more of everything, but nothing new. Or am I missing an important point? The other tasks seem more promising - basically ISTAR - but the platform seems too large for those tasks. Can it do anything in that particular task, ISTAR, that a tiny UAV cannot? Firepower finally - is impressive. Firepower of IFV is, to me, an equally unsolvable equation.Need it firepower enough to combat all the threats in its intended environment - which I suppose is a battlefield with peer opposition and combined arms environment? Then you are forced to design a tank. Need it merely escape destruction in the environment? Then it becomes of very actual limited use. One cannot help to think of Namer - which is a tank, lumberingly serving as IFV - as opposed to the BMP-3 which is a tank turret on an egg shell. With the Bradley, CV90, Puma and K21 and their likes in between - but if you think of it, if they are the answer then what was the question? What problem are they actually designed to solve? It is a choice, it seems. What you want to succeed in, and what you prefer to fail in. With no perfect solution to the entire problem. And in this - is my point - wwe see nothing new here, do we? Just another compromise, no?

Too high vertical profile. Makes it an easy target.
Yeah, the same was said about the Bradley IFV too, but it has been the best performing IFV against the Russians. The ATLAS CCV has the same bushmaster 25mm cannon which can't be a bad thing. Some say add a Slinger anti drone system, Anti Tank Missiles, anti air missiles. Even a reconnaissance drone with a set flight path to overcome electronic jamming to scout ahead which can be used with AI to determine targets for the ATLAS. There's plenty of scope. In other words, increase the stand off fighting range to compensate the high profile.
@@riykkzsunshine9669 and over half of those supplied to the Ukraine have been destroyed!
@@BrianArnold-fh6ksno, about 30 % of the Bradleys sent to Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed, not "over half".
That's what happens in war.
@Smokeyr67 Unfortunately you are wrong in the numbers!
@@BrianArnold-fh6ks no I'm not, but you can believe whatever makes you feel good.
If Ukraine has taught us anything, it is that large armored vehicles are helpless against flying UAVs. Future warfare is UAVs hunting humans and vehicles and other UAVs.
Luckily those who serve have a far better knowledge of what's happening in Ukraine than you do. Attack drones are a very low threat, reconnaissance drones backed by ATGMs and Arty are the real threat.

@AlanJeffery-y5f that's true unless it gets destroyed by spg or tank destroyers. It won't survive
bet a c heap chinese drone would destroy it pretty easily

The atlas is too large and tall as an unmanned vehicle.
Send em to Ukraine for testing. Will not last more than a day or two if they are anything like the bushmasters
I've only heard of a few Bushmaster being destroyed. And we all know they are lightly armoured APC's. So not frontline fighting vehicles, unless there is no other vehicle available which I think was the case.
its a way too big expensive pos that has no place in a military that cant afford to mass produce them. Need something significantly smaller, cheaper, replaceable that still packs an adequate weapon system for the designed task. In all honestly, uncrewed vehicles should strictly serve supporting roles until all the kinks are worked out. Without humans nearby this thing will get bogged somewhere, have a stupid malfunction of some sort cuz all nato vehicles are fragile pos, or it will get ew slaved by the enemy and captured.
