can't believe the comments here. it's not about you personally, it's about what really happens to some people and some of the reasons why, and that we need to be more aware.
there's no race or religion agenda here. none.
how can someone make a film about rape awareness and be subject to hate for it? take a long look at your message and consider if it comes from a balanced, loving viewpoint.

    • @AstinOne77
      @AstinOne77 9 років тому +22

+Vacinden Rabaltar of course there may be some speculation, nothing is ever perfect, but in scrutinising the little things, we miss the actual message. no one in this video has pointed fingers, but at the same time, we MUST recognise that it has happened to many before, no one can deny that, and we should try to prevent it happening again, thats all this is saying. the same can be said for bullying boys to "be a man" and conduct themselves in a certain way. Everyone should feel they can live without fear of what their gender may entail

    • @philjamprimate
      @philjamprimate 9 років тому +28

Vacinden Rabaltar i think it's just pointing out that rape and violence towards women happens mostly in the home. Most weddings start off loving. It's harder to be aware of domestic violence than the caricature of the creepy looking rapist hanging out in the park at night

Barbie Gang you seem like you’re shouting random shit to get attention. If you actually were harassed, I’m sorry. However not all males are like those few that do this sick shit. And this video is shitty victimisation. This is the terrible reality for few unfortunate people, but it’s not an universal truth, nor is it a reason to hate males because some people of their own gender have done terrible things. Girls are also capable of doing shit like this, and some also have. But not all girls are rapers, like not all man are. Jesus, stop man hating. The objective is equality, not feminist being superior to men.

      @Jex134 8 років тому +53

This is actually a statistical fact.
In the U.K feminist advocacy groups had the government fund a study into online hate-speech and harassment to prove that women are oppressed and marginalized - they found out that females receive slightly more sexualized bullying (the majority of which was coming from other females - calling each other _"sluts, bitches, whores"_ ) and that males receive massively more aggressive bullying with an even-split between it coming from other males and other females.
In response, the feminist advocacy groups who lobbied for this, turned around and smeared the study as being biased and fallacious, because it didn't fit their narrative.

what youre talking about is called "Toxic masculinity"and its a big problem for men and boys everywhere. Its also one of the things feminism fights against because it marks "feminine" traits (or any weaknesses at all) as bad and can result in suicide (the leading cause for male deaths und 50 is suicide). Its perfectly fine for you to talk about . BUT if you only bring those problems up when the problems girls face are discussed then that just makes you look like a hypocrite.

Good on you, now let me know when you're going to release "Dear Mommy." You know, the one where the son gets rejected and mocked by girls while he's growing up, but later in life he finally finds the perfect woman to marry, unfortunately she gets bored of the marriage and files for divorce. He wants shared custody of the kids but she isn't interested so she lies about him being an abuser and puts him through hell in the legal system to get her way. The whole thing leaves him suicidal and broke.
Thankfully this has never happened to me but it does happen and too many of the world's sons aren't being warned about it.

Great... now when are you gonna make a video called "dear mommy," about an unborn boy who gets laughed at by girls in 3rd grade for being fat and having an overbite, which makes him feel incredibly embarrassed and horrible? Then he gets told to toughen up because "boys don't cry." Besides, the girls calling him names like, "creep" and "loser" were only joking around, right? Even when they do things as passively aggressive as giggling every time he walks by, which he clearly picks up on, it's only girls having a fun time, right?
Then as time goes by, he gets so tired of being thought of as a joke by all the girls in his class that he does everything he can to change his awkward looking appearance. First he begs his mother for braces to fix his goofy looking teeth. Then later on, he eventually starts using his lunch money given to him by his parents to buy gym supplements at GNC instead of lunch. This is when he starts to work out, exercise and change his diet.
By the time his senior year comes, he is now looking much better, and he is getting much more attention from the girls. Some girls thought it would be ok to touch him in appropriate places, but it was only in good fun, right? Besides, he should be "lucky" to have been touched by a girl.
Soon, he gets a girlfriend. This makes him feel like he is on Cloud 9 at first. But after a while, he started feeling too smothered, and it became a bit too much for him to handle. So after 4 months, he told her as politely as he could that maybe they should start seeing other people, and that they should remain friends. Her not being too happy about this decided that she would get back at him for breaking up with her by telling everyone that he raped her. That's when his reputation gets forever ruined in town, and is now referred to as a "rapist." No matter how hard he tried to explain that she was lying, only a few of his closest friends ever believed him. Everyone else took her word as gospel. This situation was so serious that one day while walking home from 7-11, he winds up getting jumped by a few guys seeking retribution, resulting in a permanent fracture in his skull.
After high school, he decides to join the military. Seeing several of his friends get killed in Iraq, he comes back home with PTSD. He gets medication from his psychiatrist to help him cope, though he still has a hard time sleeping.
While stationed over in California, he met a girl that he wound up dating for almost a year. Things were fantastic in the beginning, but her taste was very expensive, and she didn't have a means of income on her own. Making the mistake of trying to buy her love, he allowed her to use his credit cards, ON TOP of always buying her dinner and gifts. Unfortunately for him, she maxed them all out after only a few months. Once he was flat-broke and in debt, she decided that things weren't working out any longer, so she broke up with him.
Shortly after that, he meets a great woman that has a great job that makes her own money. This is the woman that he eventually marries. Things went SO great for the first year or two that they decided to have children.
After the second child, his wife decided not to go back to work so that she could be a stay at home mother, which forced him to have to work more hours to make up the slack. Overworked and barely ever at home, he can no longer give her and the kids the same time and attention that he wishes he could. This makes her feel ignored, so she has an affair with a man she met on Facebook. This is when she begins to verbally berate him, sometimes even in front of the children. He usually tries to calm her down when she goes off on one of her fits; but one time, she was raging so hard that started swinging at his face after he hollered back at her. After she bloodies his nose and gives him a black eye, he calls the police to come down and de-escalate the situation. But instead, they wind up arresting him because she had a bruise on her forearm when he was trying to hold her back, plus because of the way the primary aggressor laws work, the biggest person (a.k.a. the man) is usually the one to get arrested.
Shortly after having to complete an anger management program mandated by the state, he gets handed his divorce papers. Since he now has a history of mental illness and domestic violence, the family court awarded her the kids and the house since she has always been the primary caregiver. Feeling betrayed and devastated beyond belief, he must now work about 90 hours a week so that he can afford his child support and alimony payments while he lives in a Motel 6.
After 3 years of hell dealing with getting jerked around by his ex-wife and the family courts, he decides to end it all and put a bullet in his head. Then to add insult to injury, his ex-wife uses his suicide as an attempt to "prove" to others how mentally unstable and violent he was all along. And since he is too dead to defend himself, everything she says gets gobbled up by absolutely everybody... even their 2 children.
Now let me ask you, CARE Norway; are you ever going to make a "#Dear Mommy" video where the unborn boy asks mommy to tell other females not to make fun of boys and call them names, or not to file false rape allegations, or not to use them for their money, or not to assume they are all perpetrators or rapists, or not to abuse them physically or verbally, or not to abuse them by damseling in the family court?
No, of course you won't, because that doesn't fit your feminist narrative very well; and we certainly can't have any of that. Your worldview is already etched in stone. Men = perpetrator/predator/bad, and women = victim/prey/good, isn't that right?
This kind of one-sided sexist anti-male propaganda is REALLY starting to get old already.

Address the abuse of children, boys especially and you will see a drop in rape and violence when they grow up. Stop emotionally abusing boys as children and telling them to grow up, don't cry. And stop treating as defective girls in school and putting them on drugs for ADD and ADHD. Treat them as human beings! Try telling girls to stop being so cruel and judgmental of other in general.

      What stupid reasons.
Men are more likely to be killed by the police which is worse than periods.
Men are more likely to become homeless and even more likely to be a unsheltered homeless person because despite women being a minority of the homeless, they have more shelters.
Men are sentenced for twice as long as for the same crimes which is worse than child birth.
Men are more likely to be murdered and mugged, so we are LESS safe. The idea that we are safer at nights is completely false. The chances of getting raped compared to being murdered or mugged is very low.
Every one faces pressure to be X by society and social media.
Men are also more likely to be convicted for the same crimes, commit suicide, less likely to get in to college, make up the majority of work place deaths, are more likely to lose custody of their children, are more likely to pay lifetime alimony, and the entire court and law system is against us.
You as a woman are the privileged one in the West, just look at the things women are complaining about these days, like strangers complimenting them too much.
As a man I have more important things to care about. Like the fact that in 2015, here in America, 948 men were killed by the police but only 42 women.
Or that in many countries in the world, like the UK, female-on-male rape is not legally defined as "rape".

We do not have a better chance of getting mugged or murdered.
      1. Even if we are we have a better chance defending our selves then women.
      2. Women have smaller builds and by default are smaller and weaker.
3.Men are sentenced longer just for being male.
      4. Your seriously going to say that you have a better chance of committing suicide? That's there choice and in no means has anything to do with gender.

And if they think that making jokes about a crime somehow leads to the crime, then the only tenable position is to campaign for not making jokes about any crime. But they don't do that. Female-aggressor male-victim violence does exist!! In none of the videos like this does it deny this! Those jokes can mean more. There’s always some truth behind those semi inappropriate jokes. I had a group of friends one of the only two girls in the group. We were kids in middle school. High school mid way through a guy I had a thing with didn’t work but we were friends wanted to hang out and he sexually assaulted me. All those mildly inappropriate jokes came true.

Thank you. You wouldn't believe how frustrating it is trying to garner a little sympathy for life under feminism.
Domestic abuse and rape are 50-50 issues. As much a problem for men as they are for women - yet feminism is doing nothing to help men, not just on this front, but on so many others as well (custody, alimony, judicial sentencing, homelessness, suicide, workplace fatalities, life expectancy, rates of cancer - all issues that disproportionately effect men) yet zero attention from the feminist movement.
On the contrary, they actively fight to widen these gaps and worsen the issues for men, by siphoning the public budget away from men, into women's-only abuse shelters, women's-only homeless shelters, women's-only medical facilities, women's-only mental healthcare, women's-only welfare programs, women's-only scholarships, women's-only education programs, women's-only government outreach programs, and women's-only government campaigns.

I think you're all missing the point. It's about flippant disrespect that leads to general disrespect to eventual all out assault and abuse. hardcore...'s example calling someone a lying bitch out of passion is different from calling her a sexy bitch or easy bitch to the boys in the locker room because girls are sex objects. 'Girls do it to each other all the time' said some random in the replies. Unfortunately, that's an indicator of how bad the degradation has gone to the point where it's become norm. So maybe the unspoken text here is, girls should stop doing it too.
I mean I'm all for objectification don't get me wrong, I'd love to whistle at a guy with a nice arse, leer at them and treat them in a way I want them too regardless of whether it's reciprocated. But apparently it's creepy and some of them don't like it.

Their are plenty of videos like this directed towards men helping them deal with abuse from women etc, but you would never comment anything like 'save our girls :(((( this makes women look bad!1!!' If you want your son to grow up and be a good person who is kind to people around him, then get rid of this mindset, discipline him, let him know where to draw the line, and if you have a daughter, do the same thing.

Remember if you have a vagina you will get a lot of benefit we don't have. You will get more parenting rights, in many legislations for same crime you will get lower punishment despite being as criminal. Yes this is not an equal society thanks to people like you who discriminate men by exclusion. And that read it well and that is the offensive thing here. Oh, i could've gone on for several paragraphs addressing the amount of 'wrong' in this video.
I was going to add a 'PS' regarding that exact issue, pointing out that the majority of rapists come from single mother households, many of whom have fathers who arn't even aware that they have children, so how the fuck you propose that men who are totally unaware that they're fathers be a better parent is beyond me.
You know what stood out to me? It was towards the end when she began to explain how she met this guy, and described him in lofty terms as this 'perfect love', but then it slowly began to go wrong, beginning with this perfect love calling her a "whore" and culminating in him beating her, but her making excuses for him and thinking that maybe it was her fault.
Ok fine. That sort of thing does happen in society. But then she goes on to say how she was well raised and had a fantastic two parent upbringing, at which point i thought....
*"Errrrm....Ok. If a woman was well raised and had a fantastic upbringing with a mum and a dad who not only loved her but loved each other, you should be able to hit her ONCE!....maybe twice if the guy was having a freak-out due to some medication or class-A drug, before that well raised woman walks out the fucking door, never to return.*
*Well brought up women who are happy, self-confident, self-actualized, have good self-esteem and have had both good male and female role models demonstrating what a happy, healthy, productive relationship looks like, typically will not hang around in a verbally abuse, violent, toxic relationship. In fact, fucking alarm bells will begin to ring the moment she gets called a "whore".*
*As anyone with even the vaguest glimmer of a passing interest in basic psychology will tell you, typically only women who grew up in violent house holds and were taught that violence is the way which parents and adults solve problems, are the kind of women who not only stay in abuse relationships and make excuses for the violence, but actually gravitate towards such relationships, and typically, these women/mothers tend to be just as violent as the men. It's called the cycle of abuse.*
*....And so sweetheart, if you're still with this 'perfect love' who called you a "whore" and beat you, and are now making excuses for him, then you might want to question how 'fantastic' this upbringing of yours was. In fact, i'd like to have a chat with your parents because they are going to get a stern talking to from me about the quality of their parenting!"*

"how to be a strong independent woman, who can look after herself" Nope. It's an illusion that this is the key to protection. Predators are not preying less on women who can look after themselves, let alone that HAVE TO look after themselves, because nobody else cares or nobody else is there for them. Predators always prefer the isolated prey, not the one that is protected from its peers. Of course, strength is a factor, but without protection from the group or family or at least society it's a very difficult place out there. I am aware that you addressed that later on, but to start with personal responsibility where is none when the responsibility clearly falls on the perpetrator is kind of misleading and, unfortunately, contributes to the paradigm of victim blaming. Not to mention that a victim needs the protection of society all the more if things are already going wrong at home.

Woman have every right that a man does and even more when it comes to being a victim. Woman often get more support with those things, while men get ridiculed and not taken seriously. This video

Neon Bones I appreciate your feedback. A few thoughts if you'd be willing to indulge me. First for comic relief since I am out of the nest and not a leaching snowflake lib tard I no longer kiss my mother. I do hug her tho. Well I can see that there is a vast ocean of differences between us and it does seem a daunting task to try and find some common ground. My parents who are still married had and still have an enormous influence on who I am today and yes I would say more so than any outside influences I have experienced. However I have lived shall we say a colorful life. So colorful in fact that I am able to move past speculation on subjects such as these and speak with a certain level of authority. I know what you must be thinking. "But Theron that contradicts your argument that good parenting and a little accountability leads to less bad things happening" Well it does...Because Im alive. Just barley. I once was the young man playing beer pong in a house party where young girls (who looked older) where eagerly dancing with the devil for lack of better terms. Ive seen people die from drug overdoses. Ive been to funerals and seen parents cry. Ive seen a young acquaintance go from innocently partying with cute girls to becoming a sex offender because she gave him a blow job and the parents found out. Where where the parents? Is he a predator because he is a Male? There was no force involved. Just bad decisions due to intoxication and being young. And yet he Is labeled for life. There is a war on men in this country. And its easier to give girls the benefit of the doubt. But Me...I dont buy it. I call a spade a spade. I see through the smoke screen and am willing to stick my neck out when I feel something is unjust. I love my wife and my mother and my sister. They hold such a special place in my heart. I want the best for them in this life. But my sister wont be at those parties in those situations. She is hard at work more than half way through earning a medical degree. Why wont she be there? My speculation is that it has something to do with how she was raised. You tell me.

What do people expect? My father was a teacher and I work with a lot of young clients and even the published research shows that most of the insulting behavior is peer to peer competitive behavior. Meaning that most of the insulting behaviors boys and girls direct them to their own gender as a form of competition.
Approximately 75-85% of slut shaming is done by girls to girls, similarly 90% of virgin shaming is done by boys to boys. This is nothing more than a mere function of competition and it is unrealistic to ask someone to do fix something they literally can not control or fix.
This is just an abusive commercial, trying to guilt young boys and men to feel guilty that girls are being mean to girls and this is somehow boys and mens fault and that they need to do something about it despite the fact that it is an impossible request.
Want to fix it? Good, so do I. Teach people not to be mean, teach boys and girls that insulting peers in competition is not alright. Recognize who is primary perpetrator of something and stop trying to guilt innocents because that is a form of emotional abuse.

+Lars Christophersen Yes, TRUTH about what that friend TRULY thinks about women. He might say, "haha, this was only a joke", but behind that joke there's his true attitude that all women are whores. This is unacceptable and this belief has to be challenged.
Sorry, Lars, you misread the message.

Gawd, this video was so depressing that I was thinking "Well, why didn't his wife have an abortion"? Just because your born female doesn't mean you're doomed to get raped & beaten up by your BF or husband. Also, she keeps saying that her dad was a wonderfully supportive parent. Doesn't that make a positive difference in how a women lets herself be treated by men?(& btw, girls call other girls whores or sluts just as much or even more than boys call them that)

I think this film manages to several important messages pretty well:
-Most people have good intentions, but that doesn't make joking okay
-The things we do create a culture, and that culture wiill affect our loved ones
-Most girls get called horrible names at some point and that's not okay, even in jest
-Even successful, strong women can be hurt by their partners

And it fails at one huge one. Women call other women derogatory sexual slurs as much as men do yet this video put 100% of the blame on men to shame men.
