Derrick Cope blowing an engine is one of the more head scratching moments in NASCAR. He came to a complete stop and for some odd reason the motor blows up. Very unusual.
I am always in awe of the Montoya jet dryer incident, just on the basis of the sheer bad luck that had to compile for JPM to have something snap RIGHT THERE, while at speed, with a jet dryer being perfectly positioned for him to slam into it. He was just a passenger on an incredibly improbably ride
When you watch the special fox did on that race it ended up something in the rear was breaking and evidently it snapped sending him into the safety truck
Anyone else find it odd how often that hood thing happens to hamlin and it only ever happens to him I mean how does something like that happen 3 times to the same driver and only that driver

Also in the same race, Morgan Shepherd's team left his towing steering wheel on the back decklid and it flew off during the pace laps And oh, look, the Montoya jet dryer incident...
And people complain about the FIA and Formula 1 being reckless or not caring about safety.. sweeper-trucks? lights going out?! pulling a 180 into your pit box???? (admittedly that last one was pretty cool tho).
I have a question, (I don’t watch NASCAR, I watch F1).....is it common for the safety vehicle, crew, and vehicles to be out on the track at the same time like that? @3:23
