Oh that Vegas Sandstorm I was there for in 2016, I tell a lot of people that what was broadcasted on television didn't do it justice being there in person. You couldn't see anything from the mountains to nearly the backstretch, I was surprised the spotters were able to manage that before it cleared up. That was a race I'll never forget attending

I think that if a piece of media equipment or equipment not built into the track damages a car bad enough the driver should be allowed to switch to a backup if it’s available WITHOUT penalties.

Then there's the whole driving at the limit of grip as well as power for several hours which takes skill, focus and endurance. These engines require a full teardown and rebuild between races, turning nearly 10k rpm in a v8 is hell

Every race gets a red flag if there’s to much fog, just watch the 24h ADAC Total Nürburgring Race.
How about you run 200 mph through thick fog, or in the rain on slicks, and see what happens.
