I'm glad that Game Freak seems to be learning that defensive Pokemon need reliable recovery to do their job.
And then they cut the PP of recovery moves
And not give recovery moves to older Pokémon.
This is the generation where I finally got a grip on stats and STABS for move in battle and abilities. Last generation I learned EVs and IVs. At this rate in generation 10 I may get into competitive but I doubt it.

@@brettlarch8050Ground does work too, since more than likely you'll be targeted by Dark, Ghost, and Ground types, plus keeping that Poison resistance would be nice (Granted Steel might be better so long as Landorous isn't floating around, which would also make it hard on Rock, Dragon, Fairy, and opposing Poison types)

@@The_Sphinx-22 tail glow wasn't worth in volbeat, sacred fire there are like 3 Pokemon that know it, quiver dance is sooo good for only volcarona, bonemerang is exclusive for the marowak line, hearth swap only can be learnt by 2 pokes, V create is exclusive for victini (the rayquaza from the event doesn't count), and roar of time and spacial rend can only be learnt by dialga and palkia respectively (the darkrai and arceus from the events of the movies doesn't count)
@@The_Sphinx-22the hell are you talking about? V-Create, Roar of Time, and Spacial Rend are exclusive to one Pokémon each, and Bonemerang is exclusive to the Marowak line

Still don't understand why they took levitate away from it gengar is a glass cannon it's not like it's extremely hard to knock out and the ground immunity made it able to switch into any ground move without getting hit just like it can switch into normal moves if the opponent Pokémon doesn't have scrappy
@@axelreboot8475 Broke: Gengar is better with Levitate, because it's immune to Ground-type attacks that would otherwise kill it.
Woke: Gengar is better with Cursed Body, because it can absorb Toxic Spikes, and be immune to priority in Psychic Terrain.

@@yosh9192 You can get phione at any time in Arceus. When this event ends, and if they don't do something similar to Magearna in Gen 7, with the qr code, it will be an relatively good pokemon not anyone can get by just buying the games

Honestly, id think the opposite. If you know how to use Momento in a way that genuinely gives you Advantage? You know how to play Pokemon. Like, an All Stats down being given to one of your opponents last 2 Pokemon in Doubles can make all the difference.

Pecharunt is the result of the Monkey's Paw curling when we asked for a legendary that wasn't some game breaking offensive threat.

Now we just need an evil berry mon for every status curing berry. Imagine a Chesto Berry that puts your opponent to sleep, or a Rawst Berry that can burn. Chestorpor? Rawsted?
The other half of the name, runt, basically means "small". Chestolil, Rawstiny, Aspearpuny, Cheribitty, Persimini, Lumicro.
Rawsted sound cool. Imagine the sig move is a Fire sound-based insult, giving the target a sick burn in every way.

I feel like it doesn't work thematically. Also, Pokemon aren't meant to be perfect in every situation (unless you are Incineroar in doubles)

Overly optimal pokemon are bad for balance and the game.
After watching some of your recent video playing with it, Pecharunt seems disgustingly strong when played right.

Toxic does take a turn to set up, what would be best is to lead with Glimmora, hazard, and then come in either a Hex and Venoshock Pecharunt to sweep if you can baton pass

Pecharunt just saved me from a Blaziken sweep. Dude was greedy and tried to set up another swords dance, allowing me to use toxic to confuse. Managed to get the confusion hit which took out most of blaziken’s hp
It’s gonna be better than the trio we got from the first doc it also shows how stats aren’t everything because it has the tools needed to well even without the stats

160 defense is huge, especially with Recover. It's gonna force out a lot of mons while spreading Toxic. It's gonna be annoying to break through.
It gets good stabs, parting shot, d bond, nasty plot and recover. Its movepool is fine for its role.

88 base stats sound bad but then you round them to 90 and suddenly this thing is actually pretty insane. 90 outspeeds a ton of stuff, not the important things though, 90 hp and spd is quite bulky, and 90 special attack is perfectly patched up with a nasty plot. It can even has a stat to dump with the 10% decrease of natures in its attack. This thing is honestly lowkey pretty good. I think UU at the very least. RU in a bad metagame or with new toy syndrome.
Kingambit exists and is one of the top Pokemon in OU, so Pecharunt might not be OU viable but it would excel in the lower tiers though
Of course pecharunt is not beating kingambit in a 1v1. But it is faster, which is basically a free parting shot onto kingambit and a switch into a better wall like great tusk. Also with tera it’s very plausible for a hyper offensive set with tera blast fighting or fire to work against kingambit and other OU threats, especially considering it has nasty plot

kingambit counters it but if kingambit is terastilized, u can hit it with one of its stabs, or tera yourself with water or fairy to give yourself better odds at walling it as well

Pecharunt is interesting if nothing else. While most poison types run toxic spikes to punish switching, Pecharunt can confuse a target to punish them for staying in.
Poison gas was also left out but it could be very useful especially if partnered with a steel type like Archaludon or Kingambit

that's more of a doubles thing tho and unfortunately it's banned in vgc and smogon doubles sees like no play

Pecharunt is insane with hazards up and you remove any steel/poison types and other pokemon that threaten it. Just play the pivot game of bait and switch with pokemon that know roar/whirlwind and/or pivot moves like voltswitch/flip turn/U-turn/teleport/etc
It really shines with teammates like corviknight/skarmory and other hazard control and setters
The first normal/steel type gonna go hard

Pure salt prevents poison and halves ghost damage even if learns aura sphere is pretty common to see a garganacl tera into ghost type doing a hard counter to this pokemon

It's, of course, going to pursue its big brother Gengar in trolling the living hell out of the opposition
I love that the pokemon stats are more suggestive of a role that it can do in raids but we need a more robust raid system in next generation. Not as much role que but have a pre lobby where you can see partners mons and get an idea of the role they will play in the raid. Solo raiding is okay but so much potential is here for a robust group play.

With such even base stats, you could either super train its defense or go somewhat balanced. However since it relies on status a lot, making it super tanky seems like the best choice so it can get its two toxic hits off, confusing and poisoning it and tanking any hits, to then be switched out.
They really like dual ghost types this generation

If Legendaries are added, I think Pecharunt is the 3rd strongest Poison type Pokemon. I also think it's a great Ghost type, however, I don't like repeating Pokemon in how good they are.

Using Zangoose for the demonstration is a great choice, seeing as the only way it can be poisoned is it's got its Hidden Ability, a Hidden Ability that is high-risk, high-reward when confused.

I’d imagine running Pecharunt with Toxipex simply for the convenience that it can help set up toxic spikes and allowing for some ridiculous shenanigans with that passive of Pecharunt.

That is definitely one of the designs of all time.
It would be at a disadvantage with these two examples. A Trevenant or any Pokémon holding a Pecha Berry with the ability Harvest. It can just eat away the poison and it'll be like it never happened, and harvest it back whenever it pleases. An ally poison. If an ally Pokémon (badly) poisons the opposing side, Poison Puppeteer is useless because it won't work. It sucks, I know, but unfortunately it's a thing. Unless Pecharunt can learn Knock Off, it's just.. well.. ya get it..
The fact it can both Toxic and confuse Ray with 1 move is pretty nutty. This pokémon can essentially be one of the best Poison stallers yet with such a huge defense stat and access to the perfect move pool.
Me and bro used Pecharunt and I really recommend using pecharunt along side a Pokemon with Icy wind or Snarl in doubles it helps with pecharunts weaknes or to guarante him either surviving or attacking first
