The amount of dirt hiding behind the rear lights at 5:02... When I detailed the outside of my elderly neighbor's car last summer it was amazing the amount of dirt that was coming from under the rear light assemblies just from using the pressure washer.
Stay in shape outside of work. Make sure to stretch and eat right. Drink plenty of water for recovery. The aches and pains exist. All you can do is equip your body to deal with added stress and recovery.
Hickman! There used to be a top-notch trailer company on Hickman Circle. I bought quite a lot of stuff from them. And the irrigation place on Hickman Drive is excellent if you have a yard irrigation system and the folks at Lowe's are stumped.
Amazing content! The project started hopeful, but ended a little bit different. It would be great to see the M3 getting restored completely, because she deserves it. I can’t wait for the next part! Once again, truly amazing to see this kind of content on your channel, it’s next level! 😁
Is there some sort of etching primer for automotive application? This product exists in the home painting business, it would be very useful, after you JUST SAND DOWN THE TOP COAT, then use an etching primer to remove and resurface the majority of the base paint.
Me as a German, see how paint is sanded away even though parts such as windows and door handles are still attached, I am speechless .. .ajajajaj and uff - good luck for your project - greetings
No roasting from me.......I am no painter or body work guy, I do things free hand. This year I'm going to wet sand the front of my car and spray paint it gloss black. So all I can say is, with practice comes experience, with experience comes better work. So kudos to you for doing it and learning as you go!! 💯💯💯💯
Enjoyed seeing the car painted. One thing I am curious about. Have you ever thought about a wall mounted pressure washer? Seems like it would be super handy for your business.
Is there any prep work or tips for doing the engine bay? I am reluctant to pressure wash it because I have had a problem before with a engine because it was pressure washed I had to pull distributor caps off and dry everything really good with an air hose and that seemed to fix the problem
I know I'm late but... It would've made it easier if you sanded it down with either 400-600 gritt and then blocked the primer with either 800-1000 gritt... Less struggle with getting a smooth finish on the primer
I get why you said you sanded too much but think of it like this you removed as much of the old paint as you could will give you way better results on a restoration level ❤
Sanding is hard work, Since you took it down to bare metal in a lot of spots anyways...Sand blasting the whole car would have been easier and less time consuming. But bless you for doing what you did, Cause that ain't easy work at all.
Genuine question: Would it be more effective and/or more convenient to remove one wheel, clean the wheel/tyre/wheel well, fit it back, rinse, wash and repeat (no pun intended) 🤣
That's indeed way too much sanding. Though I love your video. But I guess I'm a little bit biased, because I've got the exact same car (321hp European version), in the same color.
Not that you didn't go to far... Some areas on the car had been previously repair and were showing that it was poorly painting. At a minimum they would have needed sanded down. I wouldn't say you did anything wrong in regards to the sanding you just did a bit more than what was needed on some areas.
Heh man, great video i wanted an e36 for a long time but after driving an e46 330i, i dont thinkni can live with a non m e36 power wise . But why didnt u just towed pr take the risk bringing the car bXk home and havebthe windows rolled up. Just trying to understand why would someone have a mint interior go to waste even tho u might have nkt got the title but im sure u were piss for to long and didng think youll get the car on the rd.
If you were going to take the car to the bare metal you should of just went ahead and used airplane stripper & saved the time wasted with all that sanding
Dude WHYYYYYY!!!! That paint didn’t do nothing to you 😂😂😂. Why you just left the car outside with the windows open? You still could’ve sold it some kind of way right? I know in Houston it many people that would have bought that car lost titles or not.
You’re so stupid for not knowing how to do body work 😡. Lol, don’t beat yourself up brother. You’re living the dream getting to learn on your awesome e36. You are an awesome detailer and I’ll bet you are going to be a great painter for a guy with no experience. Keep up the good work and thanks for the consistently great content.

Hi I was wondering how do you deal with body aches or back pain after cleaning cars?
This a detailing channel not a doctor mate

Clearly @lalalo3232 youve clearly never detailed anything in your life

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who does thing by trial and error 😂. Happy I got my diploma at UA-cam University
For Teal though! I do that too! LOL And honestly this was one of the most satisfying videos I have ever seen!
E36 m3 going up in value by the day , well worth a refurb

PLEASE MORE E36 M3 CONTENT!!
Looking forward to the next episode!
You had the holy grail of e36 colors and swapped it for dam white my gawd .. good thing it was a 4door lol
That was just primer...... its still blue lmfao
I really enjoy this video. It’s the same while being different at the same time. Great job!
Hey Foster, how did the M3 turn out? Would be good to see the end results of all your hard work in preparing it for the colour.
wonderful man! looking forward to see it finished.
Can’t wait to see the final product brother.👍🏻🇺🇸
Mistakes help you learn! You just have to be okay with making them, and then ACTUALLY learn from them!
Can't wait to see the outcome
Can't wait to see part 2 and how it looks when you are done!
Probably in a few months
@@a.b.r.a.h.a.m_18 yeah.. probably.

Always great videos..... and excellent work ✌🏾💪🏾
As an Autobody guy I couldn't finish watching this. It hurt too much to do so.
You should change to m.a.d. extreme detailing!!! Awesome dude!! UR the BEST!!! HANDS DOWN!!! Detail Geek who?!!! Lol
Looks like Damascus steel design after you sand it.

Get rid of those yellow fog lights and that thing would be perfect

Auto paint stripper would have been way quicker on the bonnet and roof. Paint it on with a brush and scrape the bubbled paint off.

I have one. This video was filmed 2 years ago.
@M.A.D. DETAILING what setup do you have? I'm sure you use the heck out of it so I'd like to hear a review on what you have. Maybe a future video ?

How do you know when to stop sanding

Soooo much work bruh 💪🏽👍🏽
I don’t think you sanded too far at all. You need to get all imperfections off. As long as you put epoxy primer on the bare metal you’re good man.
Sanding is hard work, Since you took it down to bare metal in a lot of spots anyways...Sand blasting the whole car would have been easier and less time consuming. But bless you for doing what you did, Cause that ain't easy work at all.
car looks like it was out of the factory yesterday
Where are you located I grew up in deltona I've been watching you for a few years and never knew you were that close
We are located in debary.

Not gonna lie, watching the sanding process really hurt lol
Love your videos man but thus one was painful to watch.
alot of the links in the description dont work. FYI
Where is the interior video, have you post it yet
I wanna see a Honda accord 2022
Dude! Never put anything on the bare metal except of epoxy primer… this will
Come off!
????? But there was nothing else but primer put on the car. what

Damn. To the Bear metal.. aishh

La preparación y el empapelado del coche para pintar,,,,, es una grandísima mierda!!!!!!!!!!
Kinda makes me sick when people feel like they need to rip doughnuts in these classic e36s
Where’s part 2?????

That's indeed way too much sanding. Though I love your video. But I guess I'm a little bit biased, because I've got the exact same car (321hp European version), in the same color.
How do you keep track of all those parts, so they go back where they belong….ooops we have a few extra bolts after you put it back together 😝🤣?

He could have filed for a new title if he could provide documentation where and when he purchased the car.

Shame its a 4 door

I'm certainly no more of a painter than you, but dang. You could've saved a lot of time with a flap disc and an angle grinder .
Yes, I finally got an e36 from the second plan!

What up!!!
If you were going to take the car to the bare metal you should of just went ahead and used airplane stripper & saved the time wasted with all that sanding
You said the interior was MINT but now needs to be fully restored? What happened to it? It's got tears and looks like shit.
Sat for a long time outside with the windows down made all the interior brittle and ripped.
Upgrade it😅
i would have just got it wrapped
No way. Wraps are trash especially on a e36 m3
should have just foiled th windows ??
Please keep the same color
So we basically trashed a beautiful M3, gave it a shitty paint job and then let it rot in your shop, cool. I want my view back. Where's Part 2?
so basically most of the car is done just using APC
I think I used APC on the tires and fender wells and that’s it 😂
Dude WHYYYYYY!!!! That paint didn’t do nothing to you 😂😂😂. Why you just left the car outside with the windows open? You still could’ve sold it some kind of way right? I know in Houston it many people that would have bought that car lost titles or not.
