You made a mention on the audio controls in your Altima. Did you add this or did it come with your car? If it didn't, did you have to wire anything extra to get steering wheel controls to work on your head unit?

hey, thanks for the video. im getting ready to install my airbag for my 08 altima.. i have been driving the car without the airbag since it was stolen and the airbag light is always blinking... will the light go away once i follow your installation steps? if not what should i do after installing them?... oh another thing i had to order the clockspring so any tips on how to replace the tip( the yellow and orange parts) since they messed it up while taking the airbag.. any help is much appreciated .. thank you!

I need to straighten my steering wheel. I already did a wheel alignment but the steering wheel is slanted to the left. Using your technique and removing it and Putting it right back. Would this work?
OK so you showed me what I needed to know --- about how to install the Audio controller on the LH side of the steering wheel. I am going to use that along with the new aftermarket reciever (Jensen VX7528 with Navigation and Blue Tooth). Did you have any issues with getting the Audio controller to work with your controller that you added? (lie you, I only had Cruise controls and the LH side was blank). Do you have any videos about hooking up the radio reciever et all that goes with that?

May I buy the steering wheel and stereo unit you have in your car and put it in mine? Will the nav, Bluetooth, controls and all still work? element4317 mine came with the basic radio and basic controls. the radio controls on the steering wheel worked with my factory radio, but this Nav radio is aftermarket and the steering wheel controls no longer work. if you buy a aftermarket nav radio like mine it will come with all those options depending on model and brand. it will work

Have you tried the axxess car stereo attachment that integrates the aftermarket stereo to your steering wheel controls? Also did your car come with steering wheel controls.

Can the silver plastic be removed without removing the steering wheel? The audio control on the wheel...
When you take out the airbag you can unscrew them from that assembly.
How long does this job go with out filming it my brother wants to do the same on his altima?
I have a 2010 Altima coupe. it didnt have radio controls only cruise control. the wire harness inside, is it prewired if I add those radio controls to control my radio?

With the steering wheel controls, are the two sides actually one piececause it's only one wire harness.

aren't you supposed to replace the airbag module bolts with new ones anytime you remove them?
excellent video... my 2008 had the air bag clips like melted on, so i could not just pop off the lil black strips, but i bought me a pic tool like u had worked perfect, for my seat belts... thanks...

I have not heard back from you --- Do you no longer monitor your you tube comments? I watched another gut remove a Nissan Steering wheel and he removed both the negative and the positive battery cables from the battery. He also said to "WAIT" a while before taking the wheel off. He also wore an ANTI-STATIC wrist band and grounded it to the chassis as he was pretty worried about the AIR BAG blowing up while he was doing the work. What do you say about all of that?
I need to replace my wiper/lights combo switch. Do I need to take off my steering wheel to do that???
Im thinking of buying a 2007 or 2008 altima. all the ones I'm looking at for my budget have about 80-110k miles. I see on another comment you said you bought your 2008 with 93,000 miles. Has the car given you any issues? any reliability problems? what would you recommendation be when buying an 07-08 altima? thanks!
JamesJDMoe Im now a few hundred miles away from 100,000 miles. The car has given me absolutly no problems non what so ever. The car has been properly maintained its whole life, and it was from Fulton Country Georgia, so the car has mostly highway miles on it. 80 to 110k miles is not bad for these cars. Ive worked on quite a few. I suugest getting one, Nissan up'd there CVT transmission warrenty and it is transferrable to new owners

JamesJDMoe I own a 2007 Altima 2.5S. I bought it with 16K on it in 2007 and it now has slightly over 170,000. I have only had to replace the coils on it. Car is great and faster than people give it credit for. I love taking underrated cars and beefing them up while still making them look good on the outside. Good Luck in getting your car.
hey 905 speedboat have an issue you might be able to help the left side of my buttons don't work on my 2006 altima i replaced the clock spring and still nothing my cruise control works just fine horn and no air bag light none of the buttons light up u have any idea what would be next to do thanks for your time

Marlongaitan1 in the video, its pretty straight forward what I did, the only thing is, once you install the steering wheel controls if you dont have a factory radio they are not going to work without modification. this car might require programming to the BCM im not 100% sure, theres a aftermarket module called a ( Pac os2 ) i dont even know if thats the correct name for it anymore but it allows the use of steering wheel controls to aftermarket radios.. I myself need to investigate what exactly needs to be done still, thats why I havent posted a video yet. I had a friend do this aswell on is 2009 sentra and it had the factory radio and it didnt work for him.. im working on it, and once I get a video up i will have the solution.

I have a 2008 nissan sentra, and my left side, of the steering wheel volume does not work, it did at one point in time but not now. the buttons on the right. cruise and those buttons work fine. what do I need to do to get that working again? after watching your video, my thought would be take those 2 bolts out. disconnect the air bag. and pull those to pins back that holds in the wires.than replace the left side? and if I do do I need to replace the wire as well?
Micheal Carruthers I also have a 2007 Sentra base model. Try Pulling the ICM fuse or disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.
905speedgta Well I did disconnected the battery over night, still same issue... what do you think I should try now?
Micheal Carruthers did your sentra originally come with that option?. I dont know this for sure but the BCM on cars of today usually control the signals of switches and things like that. have you or anyone else done any repairs to the car?. did you install a new radio or something?. There may be a connection problem or there might be a signal problem with your switch, BCM or radio...what kind of radio does this car have? what is it the SE? SER ?
I have a SE 2.0 it did come with the option. I just bought it 3 months ago. no new radio. just the factory one. everything works fine. horn, cruise, but not the left side radio controls.
Micheal Carruthers It could be in the clock spring, there may be a problem with the signal wire..You might have a problem with your BCM. this might be a trip to the dealer. Dealers have a computer I believe its called the nissan Consult 3 and it interacts with the cars BCM and also finds problems Specifically to the nissan vehicle. CHrysler has one aswell, and the dealer told me i left something unplugged ( hazzard switch) on my caravan...
I'm thinking on buying one i have 2006 Chrysler Sebring 2.7 v6. Im thinking on giving this car to my 25 year old brother. Good car never gave problems except one thing the water pump needs to be replaced.:( she has 200k miles on it all high way miles. Im looking at new 2014 Nissan altima are these excellent for repair? Dude great video. You answered questions that I had and some that I would have when I get to this project. Like you I want a leather steering wheel but was hesitant since I didn't know how to replace it, now I do. Old dogs can learn new tricks. I am 54 years old but continue to learn much from you young cats (sorry an old dude expression..lol). Do you have a video or instructions on hooking up your audio system to the steering wheel? I plan to get a wheel that have the controls on it but will have to do the electrical hookups myself. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

My 2008 Nissan altima has very bad speakers how do you replace those I hope that doesn't sound like a stupid question question??
asth84 I actually had to replace my speakers aswell. This is not a stupid question. It all depends on what type of sound system you have. Is it bose? is it a 4 6 or 8 speaker system??. on these altimas theres two speakers in the dash, 1 to 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear deck below the rear window.. i replaced my entire sound system with a sound system i made myself that is amplified. I have the Interior speakers and subs amplified with two different amps..if your looking to just do a factory replacement, the door speakers are straight forward. You remove the door panel to get to the speakers.. however, the door speakers are built into the speaker mount that holds it into the door, meaning if you want to replace the speaker, you either have to cut the speaker out of the bracket, or order the bracket converters online. I like to make my own stuff so i cut the original speaker out of the bracket and used that. the previous owner of my car put smaller speakers in the door and just jammed the new speaker into the door hole and drilled it in with self tap screws..this was a horribe way of doing it, and caused exxcesive rattle noise..the back speakers are alittle involved. you actually have to take the back seat out, the two side panels on the left and right side of the back window ( held in by clips and a 10mm bolt then move the carpet piece with the speaker grills on it.. you cant get them from the trunk... i took about 200 photos on doing the speakers on my 2008 altima and my 2007 sentra i will make a video showing what needs to be done
905speedgta it is a bose sound with 6 speakers. I wonder it was not put in right? My 2001 avalon has 8 speakers with the jbl sound and it is very very loud sound system.
Sounds like the speaker polarity can be crossed. open your trunk and look and see if any wire terminals came loose. can you describe what the sound is or what its doing?.. also fade the speakers to the back, once you verifiy the backs are working transfer the balance from left to right. tell me how each individule speaker sounds like..then go to the front and do the same thing. let me know what you find
905speedgta the two where the front doors are not even making any sound. Check all the rest including the speaker and the front speakers work. I'm actually thinking about changing speakers and everything. What kind radio do you have? looks like a gps/radio?

84phobia I wouldnt doubt yourself, if you have the will to try you can do it for sure. Watch my video while doing it. I make my videos specifically for people who have never done anything before. The most important parts of this video is making sure you kill the power by removing the Negative Battery Terminal, discharging the cars residual power and when removing the airbag clips and when reinstalling them, just make sure you take them out with care, and you reinsert them fully..
