I don't want any "he died doing what he loved" videos (which is sort of crap as we lose not only someone we love but a resource in our community). Mike, I’ve never been so pumped to see this news. I know you were crushed but I also knew that you’d come back bigger and better than ever. Can’t wait to see the VLOG for this upcoming build. Best wishes brother!
The day you walked out of Draco, I was so grateful to God. Now you are talk'in Resurrected? Happy birthday mi Amigo! Thanks for such enthusiasm and and joy you bring us all...
So glad to hear Draco isn’t gone!!! Can’t wait to see it fly again! 🤙🏻 you rock Mike!
At this point I'd watch Mike build a doll house if that's what he was into. So much the better that he's rebuilding Draco because it's a reflection of Mike's indomitable spirit.
Brandon James Oh my! 🤣 Thats hilarious! Thanks for your support.
😂
This is the most beautiful plane I’ve ever laid eyes on. I hope you help her soar again. You’re an amazing pilot and builder.
What a great guy, with an AWESOME ATTITUDE !! And some skills too !
Hell Ya, Back To Work!!!
Say the word Mike and I will make the drive up there to help in any capacity!
I missed every opportunity to see the old Draco, No way in hell am I missing the chance to see the new Draco!
Best thing I'vs heard on UA-cam.
Please revive the dream machine.
"Let's get back to work."

Is a hobby really work, though? Pretty sure this just a rich guy having fun.
He became rich by working hard. He's a hard worker.
@@Johnbobon I doubt that.
@@PistonAvatarGuy Mike Patey is an inspiration to people not suffering from jealousy.
@@Johnbobon You can't be inspired to be born rich.
You are an inspiration to me! You personify all values I cherish: passion, hard work, family, and humility; bravo sir !! Can’t wait to see the new Draco
Draco was the ultimate, what a plane I tell you Mike if I owned it before then I’d be just like you were when you was around Draco, a big cheesy smile like a cat who had all the cream! We look forward to seeing some more of your videos on scrappy with all of the modifications, we are looking forward to seeing some more, prayers for you and your family, fly safe and fly high...
Its hardly fair to ask God to get involved with STOL Reconstructions, he has plenty else to do first.
Rod Yates yes you’re right, God has lot’s of things that come before the STOL build, God could make me wanna with the lottery, but I guess I’d have to buy a ticket first. Then I could apply for my learning to fly for a ultimate goal of owning my own version of Draco, he was the best!
Man you've ignited the passion for so many people. I'm so glad you guys are all ok from the crash. Thank you for the content and updates!
Skyline_Guy not sure which Mike is better at. Making awesome airplanes or inspiring videos. My answer is both.
I knew it!!!! God I'm so happy for you Mike!!! Well, all of us really. The phoenix will rise!!!
Your a legend Micheal! A true living legend, every propeller head in the world is routing for you!
So wonderful to hear that Draco will be back! Such an extraordinary aircraft...
I knew you would rebuild it! That’s what i commented after you posted the crash vlog. People like yourself are a success because get up when you get knocked down! Your a great example of is the right attitude towards life. Fly safe and hello from down under.
Mike ,I'm excited to here Draco will fly again. Best of luck.
No FREAKING way mike. I was almost sure that was going to be the end of Draco but I should have known better. Seeing everything you achieve is such an inspiration.
Not a single person believed that "totalled" crap. Mike would rebuild that plane from no more than a metal splinter in his finger.
Like Tony Stark in a cave with a box of scraps!
😂
@@thenungzo He is our Iron Man. He builds things we can only dream of.
All he needs is the data plate.
Mike, glad you and your family walked away from the crash! You have great enthusiasm for the sport, keep on going like the barnstormers of the past.
Watching this made me feel emotional for you .... I look forward to the resurrection .. and brighter days of watching your videos of new adventures .... go well!! “Back to work” ......
God Blessed us with you Mike = Ready to see Draco once again!!!
OF COURSE he will rebuild " Draco" . He is Mike Patey. Enough said.
I’m so happy for you. We miss Draco.
I'm so happy to see that you plan on rebuilding Draco! Not that I should have expected anything else from a man like you of course, Mike. Your determination is truly legendary!
SOOO glad to see this video and know DRACO will only rest for awhile. This is the plane that has sparked my interest into Bush Planes, along with my good friend Mark Hoadley. Awesome video @Mike Patey, very well done sir!
So glad you are going to rebuild Draco. Can’t wait to see what the mad scientist dreams up up for the rebuild!
Who brought the onions? 😭
damn ninja onion cutters strike again
Dubbs71 😂😂
Dubbs71 😂😂😂
seriously though. I was tearing up at the end.
The most BadAss STOL ever built!!!! Made me smile when I seen this first thing this morning and it will be stronger, faster and better than ever. Mike Patey, You Are A Inspiration!
Glad to hear you are rebuilding DRACO please video the adventure
Saw this today at lunch - there were definitely tears in my eyes! Mike Patey's can-do attitude + hard work = anything is possible!
I cried and then I never pressed the like button so many times before!!!! Draco lives!!!
Heck yea! Back to work!
Glad to see that determination, here’s hoping I can see Draco in the flesh one day!
Do it Mike, cant let him go.
You have passion and everyone on here is behind you mate....all the best to you and your family.....from Aussie land..🛩🛩
I'm really starting to see that Mike Patey might be a bit of a living legend. Go Draco!
This is great, I was hoping you were going to rebuild draco, its one of the coolest bush planes Ive seen. Watched the whole build series, its like sculpture/engineering/craftsmanship/design/aviation all rolled into one. Thanks for doing this series, Id like to be a pilot one day (if I can find the time) and videos like this are very motivating.
You’re an absolute inspiration.
Tell me, who doesn't love Mike? Best of everything to you.
Totally agree, he's like a cross between the energizer bunny and a lovable version of the terminator with a dash of Tony Robbin's thrown in. There ain't no stopping him!
I think he is a dickhead actually, particularly after watching the poor piloting skills that lead to the crash.
@@tom5051666 One poor judgment. One poor decision. Not poor piloting skills. You're a jerk.
@#16 Racing Mr Patey will be remembered for pushing boundaries by a large portion of the aviation community across the world. What will you be remembered for ?????

Draco: *one of the greatest of its kind*
Draco X: I’m about to end this man’s whole career
your work is incredible.
You are an amazing engineer and fabricator.
Draco was by far the most advanced bush plane ever built.
Looking forward to Scrappy!
Please never stop with the videos!
thanks for making me cry today Mike.
Way cool, good luck, look forward to following along as she gets improved and airborne again
I had a sneaky suspicion & this brings a hell of a smile to my face. I can't wait...
Yes! Draco will rise. Never got to see her in person. Glad I'll see her in the future.
You Cowboys be careful. We already have Nikk Phoenix and now Mike Phoenix. Let's not add another.
What's the story with the Phoenix's?
@@Aseutester Just recently one of the Flying Cowboys named Nikk crashed and nearly killed himself (pilot error). He is building a new kitfox soon. Now Draco has crashed (pilot error) and it will be rebuilt (better than ever). I'm just saying, I don't want to watch anymore tragedy. I don't want any "he died doing what he loved" videos (which is sort of crap as we lose not only someone we love but a resource in our community). When pilots get super comfy (complacent even) that's when disaster strikes. If you're asking specifically what's with "phoenix," well that's what everyone says about a rebirth based on the phoenix legend. I even thing Nikk's plane will be named "Phoenix Fox." So, that's what is with Phoenix.
Araye ,
@@Araye Nikk had a talk at EAA about what happend, its on UA-cam
Best video I could have hoped for today brother. Looking forward to seeing Draco fly again. Now I’ve got to get back to work and do some chair flying. Have fun and good luck in everything.
YES !!! DRACO MUST LIVE. WE love you! Make it so!
Damn allergies
I knew he couldn't let him go!
I know right....and so out of season.....got it here too....
Never had a doubt in fact surprised one wing isn't already attached!
What makes you think it isn’t ;)
A lot of damage, but very salvageable. The hassle is the investigation, and administrivia that has to be also done, before the rebuild commences.
@@VenturiLife : Isn't it an "experimental" so much less bureaucracy than with type certified aircraft...
Still investigations into the lead-up to the crash need to go through, likely. The deconstruction, not so much.
Still heartbreaking to see it after it went down, such a iconic airplane..but know you will get it back better than ever Mike, and just again glad all of you are ok, and can't wait to see it fly once again!
So glad this beast is getting rebuilt. Mike you're an absolute inspiration to pilots and I can't wait to see the build logs for Draco X
Draco was one of a kind, but whatever mike builds is gonna have us all drooling. Man has talent
